"The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist: Let's Build a Drugstore in Another World" features a wide variety of characters, from aliens to werewolf girls, ordinary citizens, elves, aristocrats, and mercenaries. Many of the characters visit the pharmacy, "Kirio Drug," in search of the cheat drugs made by the protagonist. This time, we'll introduce the main characters closely connected to Kirio Drug. From beautiful girls to sweltering old men, we'll introduce some unique characters who are sure to appear in anime.
Reiji Kirio
The protagonist of this work is transported to another world. As of Volume 4 of the manga, it's unclear why she was transported to another world or where she came from, but she has an exceptionally high adaptability, instantly recognizing that she's in a different world and readily accepting it. Upon being transported, she gained the skills of "Appraisal" and "Drug Creation." By imagining the medicine she wants to make, she can automatically find the ingredients and procedures needed for drug creation. She can create everything from simple potions to magical items that are impossible to create normally.
Noela
The heroine of this work is a werewolf girl. Reiji rescues her after she's found badly injured in her wolf form. She then calls Reiji "master" and they begin living together. She's always energetic, eats well, and sleeps well. Despite her small size, she has a voracious appetite. Not only does she eat a lot, but she'll even down potions from products if she's given the chance. When she transforms into a wolf, she demonstrates her speed and can even face a small dragon without flinching. She's one of Kirio Drug's two main girls, and a comforting presence for Reiji.
Mina
One of Kirio Drug's two main girls. A ghost girl who lives in an abandoned house, she insists she's not a ghost. Apparently, she originally lived in the house about 100 years ago, and only the owner can recognize her unless she uses her special powers. Reiji and his friends are delighted to see Elaine, the first customer to arrive in 40 years. At first, she floats through the air like a ghost, but with a special power, she materializes and becomes visible to others. Due to her beautiful beauty, she begins working at Kirio Drugstore as its popular poster girl. (She mainly works behind the scenes, cooking, etc.)
Elaine
The daughter of a feudal lord, Elaine is the epitome of a naive young lady. She has a haughty attitude and manner of speaking, and always speaks condescendingly, even to adults. She looks about the same age as Noela, but when they first met, she called her a "beast-woman," which angered Noela, who began calling her "Makimaki" and calling her "Makimaki." She originally came to the town to ask for a love potion for the second son of the Earl, whom she had noticed at a banquet, but eventually discovered that his affections were directed toward Reiji... Realizing this, Noela became increasingly wary of Elaine, viewing her as a rival, and the relationship between the two became increasingly complicated.
Annabel
The leader of the Red Cat Squad, tasked by the lord with guarding the city. She's quite the warrior, mercilessly pointing her sword at bad guys, and is loved by her subordinates, who call her "Big Sister." Annabelle has become addicted to the potions made by Reiji. She's fascinated by the sports drink-like taste, and drinks several bottles a day even though she's not injured. She's terrible at lying and hiding things, and when someone touches her in a sensitive spot, she looks away and her voice becomes extremely quiet. She works as a mercenary, a job that only an adult can do, but deep down she seems to still be a child.
Kururu
He's a handsome young elf, but his true identity is a terrifying man who's after Reiji's buttocks. He visited Reiji, rumored to be an "alchemist," to ask for help in making his missing arrows hit their targets. In exchange, he offers the right to do whatever he wants with his own buttocks. When Reiji refuses, he then, for some reason, begins targeting Reiji's buttocks. Upon first meeting, he calls Reiji "cute boy" and "Reiji-chan." While he may appear young, he's a long-lived elf, so his actual age may be older than he appears. By the way, when he was forced to take a large dose of drugs that reduced his libido, he ended up with a cleft chin and a strong, effeminate face.
Jiral Alonzo
A young man is attacked by his yandere girlfriend and seeks Reiji's help. Believing his jealous girlfriend to be possessed by a demon, he asks Reiji to exorcise her. He successfully resolves the issue with her with a relaxing tea, but a few days later, he gets into trouble again and ends up at Kirio Drugstore... While Jiral has an unreliable personality and is generally wimpy, his family is actually wealthy landowners. He's a typical winner: financially comfortable without working, and he even has a girlfriend. When Reiji was looking for a field to grow medicinal herbs, she offered to lend him one or two of her fields free of charge. (In exchange, she agreed to be his confidant and a shield in case of emergency...)
Ferris
Jiral's girlfriend, a girl who occasionally shows signs of yandere. While she's a cute, smiling girl, her tendency to become overly opinionated and yandere is a flaw. She exhibits bizarre behavior, such as becoming jealous just from talking to a female store clerk, and chasing Jiral with a knife when she first appears. When she brought up the topic of breaking up, it seems she did something so traumatic that even the mere thought of it traumatizes Jiral. Even in her yandere state, she still loves cute things. When she's near Noela, she starts hugging and petting her, and the bags under her eyes disappear, revealing a happy expression. (Reiji calls it animal therapy.)
Ririka
An elf girl whose brother is the perverted Kururu. She's so beautiful that Reiji is captivated by her, but she's also a tsundere who can't be honest with herself, and a bro-complex who loves her brother too much. Her reason for coming to Kirio Drugstore is to search for a woman named "Daisy" that her brother often mentions, but she is confused when she finds out that Daisy is actually a man named "Reiji." She asks Reiji to make her a potion to cure her brother's love for men, but after giving him a large dose, he turns into a transvestite, and she once again ends up crying to Reiji.
Mikot
In the comics, she is a mysterious girl. She first appears at the end of Volume 2, but by that point she seems to already be familiar with Reiji, calling him "tencho" and coming to buy potions. She is about the same age as Noela, but despite being a child, she has a strong personality. When Reiji is called by the lord and has to leave suddenly, she is left in charge of the store in his place, and it seems that Reiji trusts her deeply. However, she speaks to older people as if they were friends, and although Reiji tells her to use honorifics, she refuses to listen, saying, "I'm just friends with the landlord."
Flam
Elaine's mother, the lord's wife, has recently been concerned about her aging skin. Even Reiji, a man, notices her skin condition, and other nobles laugh at her every time they attend dinner parties. To get revenge, she asks Reiji to create a rejuvenating elixir, but the deadline is too short, so she says no. In exchange, she was given a beauty gel to use. On the day of the banquet, Flam stopped by Reiji's house and transformed into a beautiful young woman, enough to make Reiji blush. Her expression was filled with confidence, and she managed to impress everyone at the banquet.
Heez
A sultry old man came to ask for help in defeating a small dragon. With his unnecessarily loud voice and haughty attitude, Reiji knew at first sight that he was a pain. Despite his bold attitude, he's actually a timid man with limited abilities. He cowers when confronted by a dragon and ends up pushing everything onto Reiji. Furthermore, having lived a life completely unaffected by romance, he's jealous of Reiji, who lives under the same roof as a beautiful girl. He fell in love with Mina at first sight, and even after completing the quest, he continues to visit the shop as a customer, sending her bouquets of flowers, baked goods, and other gifts.
【Cheat Pharmacist】Character Introduction Summary
So far, we've introduced the main characters of "Cheat Pharmacist." While not yet appearing in the comics, the anime's official website also plans to feature the Demon King and other key characters. This work has appeared as a novel and a comic book, but I'm already looking forward to seeing the characters come to life in the anime.
