Chased by Galan and Melascula of the Ten Commandments and in a desperate situation, Ban, Jericho, and Elaine try to take refuge in a cave, but end up in a bar. The timid-looking old man who works there is none other than Escanor, the Sin of Pride of the Seven Deadly Sins. He doesn't look very strong, does he? LOL

During the bar scene with Escanor, the giant axe behind him catches your eye. That's Escanor's Sacred Treasure, the Divine Axe Rhitta. It's so heavy that even Galan mistakes it for a two-handed axe, but it's actually a one-handed axe! It's said to be a battle axe named after a maiden beloved by the sun. It's an axe that seems unlikely to be wielded by anyone other than Escanor.

Escanor's Magic Power [Sunshine]

Escanor's power manifests with sunrise, increasing as the day approaches, but not at night. This is Escanor's magic power [Sunshine]. The images above show Escanor at night and during the day. Their heights and body types are different, so they look like completely different people.

Why is he so strong? What is Escanor's "Sunshine"?

Ludociel, one of the four archangels residing in Princess Margaret's body, looked at Escanor and exclaimed, "Who did you steal that power from?!" According to Ludociel, that power comes from the "grace" of the sun that his late brother (the four archangel Mael) received from the Supreme Being. However, even after hearing about Grace, Escanor seems completely unaware of it. "The Sun is a power that resides within me from birth," Escanor declares.

Is Escanor's magical power the "power of God"?

"The power of Grace is the "power of God." If a human child were to possess it, it would surely corrode that person and lead them to ruin... You should understand that better than anyone. Know your place, human. If you do not want to die, let go of this Grace now...!!" Ludociel's words carried the weight of a prophecy, but Escanor brushes them off, saying, "I have no interest in that story!" Afterward, we see a scene of Escanor coughing up blood, but the details are still unknown.

Escanor hides Ban and his friends who have fled to a bar, where Galan forces them to play a game that ends when either player dies. However, before the game begins, Galan taps Escanor on the shoulder at night, knocking him to the ground and knocking him unconscious. As morning approaches, Escanor's magical powers are manifested!

He cuts Galan down with the divine axe Rhitta in hand. Afterwards, when Escanor tries to use some kind of magical power, Galan senses fear of death and tries to flee, but Escanor is defeated by petrifying him with his own magical powers.

After defeating Galan of the Ten Commandments, Escanor's next battle was against Meliodas' younger brother, Estarossa. Estarossa's magical power, "Full Counter," repels all physical attacks. It seemed like Escanor was in the wrong, but as noon approached and he powered up, he unleashed his Cruel Sun on Estarossa. Estarossa was sent flying, along with Zeldris, who tried to help him.

In order to escape Meliodas's "Cocoon of Darkness," he enters Assault Mode, a state of destruction that even the Ten Commandments fear. Despite Merlin's warnings, Escanor challenges Meliodas to a fight. He's arrogant and excited, thinking this is the perfect opportunity to prove he's stronger than Meliodas. lol

Who is the strongest of the Seven Deadly Sins? What will the outcome be?

The battle continued with neither side giving an inch, but since the demon god can heal wounds, Escanor seemed slightly at a disadvantage. However, as noon approached, he reached the peak of his magical power, "The One," and used the Holy Sword Escanor to defeat Meliodas! Escanor was standing there, but Merlin knew everything and knocked him down with a single punch, saying, "You've got to be careful with your self-restraint." That means it was a draw. lol

What is Escanor's sin of pride?

This may be a little late, but what are the details of Escanor's sin? Whenever people call him "arrogant," he replies, "That is my sin," but I don't think that can be called a grave sin. However, the exact nature of Escanor's sin has not yet been revealed. It makes me curious about Escanor's past!

Bonus: Escanor in the opening theme of "Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War"?

Escanor does not appear in the story of the second season of the anime, Omens of the Holy War. (He does appear briefly at the end of the final episode.) However, he does appear in a scene in the opening! The image above is that scene. At first, I thought I saw a strange old man with glasses for a split second. It only lasts for a moment, so if you haven't spotted Escanor yet, please watch the opening again.

Escanor's crimes and past remain shrouded in mystery. Whether his magical power, "Sunshine," is truly a divine power, and why Escanor, a human, possesses it, these questions will likely become clear in the future. In the anime, Escanor will be an indispensable presence in the upcoming battle against the Ten Commandments! We can't wait to see him in even greater action!
