Upon learning this, the quintuplets run away from home and move into an apartment to avoid the substitute tutor their father has arranged for them to take their lessons, and they successfully convince Fuutarou to continue tutoring them. Up until now, Fuutarou has been chasing the quintuplets, encouraging them to study. However, in the second season, we see a new phenomenon: the quintuplets themselves chasing after Fuutarou.
Ichika's Hard Work
Naturally, their father won't be paying the rent for their apartment, so Ichika pays it in place of her father. Although she works as an actress, she still doesn't have a significant income, so her financial situation remains unstable. However, thanks to Ichika's hard work, the quintuplets are able to continue attending Fuutarou's classes.
Kintaro's disguise is revealed
In the first season, Nino sees a photo of Futaro from the past tucked into Futaro's student handbook and develops feelings for him. Futaro manages to avoid any trouble by pretending that the photo belongs to a relative named Kintaro. However, in the second season, while Nino and Futaro, disguised as Kintaro, are cooking together, Nino discovers that Kintaro's true identity is Futaro.
Nino's feelings for Kintaro extend to Fuutarou
After discovering that Kintaro's true identity was Fuutarou, Nino seemed to view Kintaro and Fuutarou as separate characters for a while, perhaps due to her image of Fuutarou as her tutor. However, as she spent more time with him, her feelings for Kintaro gradually shifted to Fuutarou.

In stark contrast to her behavior early in the first season of the anime, Nino's attitude towards Fuutaro suddenly changes after she realizes her feelings for him. She was also the first of the quintuplets to confess her feelings to him! In the first season, Ichika was auditioning for various roles as an aspiring actress. Initially, Ichika wanted to drop out of school or transfer to one that was more supportive of acting, but Fuutarou persuaded her to continue in her role as private tutor after he promised to hire her instead.

Since her role as Fuutarou continues, Ichika remains close to him. However, her strong feelings for him lead her to resort to underhanded tactics to push the other quintuplets aside in order to spend time with Fuutarou. Ichika's methods are so underhanded that they create a rift between the quintuplets.
Everyone gets part-time jobs to cover the rent.
The apartment rent had been paid for by Ichika's work, but after her change of heart, she proposes that the five of them share the rent, and anyone who fails to pay will be forced to move out of their previous apartment. Not only Ichika, but all of the quintuplets now find work that allows them to utilize their unique skills. In particular, Nino ends up working part-time with Fuutaro at the bakery where he works, while Miku ends up working at the bakery across the street. During the school festival event later in the story, a man suddenly appears claiming to be the quintuplets' real father. Through her interactions with Satsuki, she learns that he is the quintuplets' real father and the true feelings of his stepfather.
A Formidable Enemy Stands Before Fuutarou
When Satsuki's real father (Mudou) finds out that Satsuki wants to become a teacher, he rejects his path and urges the quintuplets to return to him. However, due to a history of running away after learning that their unborn children would be quintuplets, he is repelled with the help of Maruo, the quintuplets' real father, Fuutarou's father, an old friend of Maruo, and Uesugi Fuutarou.

Up until now, the mysterious girl Fuutarou met in Kyoto had only appeared in his flashbacks, but in the first season it was hinted that she was one of the quintuplets. In the second season, the true identity of the mysterious girl Fuutarou met in Kyoto will be revealed.

The mysterious girl Fuutaro met in Kyoto was a girl he happened to encounter while on a trip to Kyoto for an elementary school event. Fuutaro brought his father's camera, a work tool, on the trip without permission, and was accused of taking voyeuristic photos. It was the mysterious girl he met in Kyoto who proved his innocence. Futaro then realizes that Yotsuba is the mysterious girl he met in the past. While struggling with the affection of the other quintuplets, he confesses his feelings to her. His confession is so moving that it will make you think, "What?! He's going that far?!" Be sure to pay close attention to his words in the second season. Futaro, who had no interest in romance at all, is moved the moment he realizes that the mysterious girl he met in Kyoto in the past is Yotsuba. The process of his feelings blossoming is so well-depicted that it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
