Tsukimi Eiko and Zhuge Liang meet on Halloween!?

Tsukimi Eiko

In 234 AD, Zhuge Liang (Kongming) died of illness at Wuzhang Plains. Having lost his former comrades, including Liu Bei, he too was on his way to heaven. Hoping to be reborn in a world where life no longer trades lives, he hoped for a new life. However, moments later, he woke up in his younger self on Halloween in modern-day Shibuya. Landing in the middle of a costume party, Kongming thought he was in hell. There, he was captivated by the voice of a young female singer dressed as a demon. That woman was none other than Tsukimi Eiko, the other main character.

Eiko Tsukimi worked part-time at a clubhouse while dreaming of becoming a world-class singer-songwriter. While some people recognized her talent, she lacked the ability to communicate and stood out, and was beginning to lose confidence. Then, on Halloween, Kongming praised her singing voice. At first, she thought he was just a weirdo, but when she found Kongming passed out drunk on the street, she rescued him. At first, she thought he was a diva from hell.

Kongming Becomes a Strategist

What kind of character is Eiko Tsukimi?

Cosplay Eiko

She has a bright, kind-hearted personality and a carefree side, but at the beginning of the story, she is losing confidence in her uncertain current situation. For better or worse, she has a simple personality and a tendency to be easily influenced by trends, and she has no experience with tricks like reading other people's hidden intentions. Although she possesses a captivating singing voice, she lacks the directing or communication skills to make the most of it, making her an unknown presence at the beginning of the story.

Eiko gradually gains confidence

Confident Kongming

Although EIKO continued her activities as a singer-songwriter, she failed auditions and only occasionally sang at clubhouses. Her lack of experience of success led to a lack of confidence, but with Kongming's help, she steadily achieved success and gradually gained confidence.

A Fateful Encounter with Tsukimi Eiko, a Girl with a Troublesome Past

Eiko and a Fateful Encounter

Eiko had always had trouble with her family, and was driven to the point of contemplating suicide. On a school trip, she was about to jump off a train platform when she was saved by Kobayashi, the owner of Clubhouse BB Lounge, where Eiko works at the start of the series. Hearing her performance at the Clubhouse, he saw American diva Maria Diesel. Listening to her song, Eiko regained her will to live, and she decided to pursue a career as a singer herself, striving to inspire others.

Feud with Family

Eiko's Mom

She has now moved to Tokyo and is living alone. Behind this lies her mother, who is opposed to her dream of becoming a singer-songwriter, and her father, who once aspired to become one but failed to achieve success and then disappeared. Eiko's mother, who is also a cram school teacher, tried to calm her down with sound reason and make her give up on her dream of becoming a singer-songwriter. She rebelled against her mother and ran away from home, but her limited success led to a lack of confidence and low self-esteem.

Not a Bad Mom, But

However, Eiko's mom isn't saying these things because she hates Eiko; deep down, she worries about her more than anyone else. In fact, it's only natural to think this way, considering Eiko's mother's husband, who disappeared to pursue a career in music.

Eiko Tsukimi, who grows stronger through repeated setbacks, is just like Liu Bei!?

Eiko loses confidence

Eiko's dream was far from smooth sailing, and she experienced a major setback at the beginning of the story. She even considered giving up on her dream of becoming a singer-songwriter, but ultimately she continues to challenge herself with an indomitable fighting spirit. Her behavior is reminiscent of Liu Bei, Kongming's former master. Liu Bei suffered numerous setbacks and defeats throughout history, but he still rose to become the first emperor of Shu Han. His appearance is reminiscent of a young Liu Bei.

But in reality... the real Liu Bei...

Liu Bei and his friends

However, in real life, Liu Bei suffered a terrible setback and died of illness, entrusting his future to Zhuge Liang. To put it simply, it begins with the murder of Guan Yu, with whom he had walked through life as a sworn brother. Then, as he prepares to mourn him and retake strategically important territory, Zhang Fei is killed. In the battle he seeks in despair, he suffers a devastating defeat unparalleled in history, and dies of illness without ever recovering. This is a fairly well-known story, and Shu Han is on the brink of collapse, but thanks to Master Zhuge Liang, it manages to recover. However, after Zhuge Liang's death, it ultimately falls to ruin.

Eiko grows in skill and confidence under the guidance of Zhuge Liang, but she couldn't have done it alone. Her encounters with clubhouse owner Kobayashi and Kongming, as well as friends like rapper KABE Futo and the Wakatsuki siblings, as well as her rivals Mia Iriomote and AZALEA's Kuon Nanami, further contribute to her growth.
