Overlord is based on a novel by Maruyama Kugane, with the first season of the TV anime airing in July 2015 and the second in 2018. The protagonist, Momonga, is the name of his avatar in the VRMMORPG Yggdrasil (his real name is Suzuki Satoru). Suzuki Satoru, whose reason for living was devoting most of his life to the game, was about to face the end of the game alone as Yggdrasil's service was ending. However, when the end time passed and he was not logged out, Suzuki Satoru realized he was left behind in the game. He then reigns as the strongest being in Yggdrasil, the game he has dedicated most of his life to, using the avatar name Momonga.

Momonga is currently one of the 41 Supreme Beings, the only one in the world, and all the members of Ainz Ooal Gown either pledge their loyalty or love to him. However, when it comes to combat, it seems there are NPCs who are even stronger than Momonga. If the situation changes in the future, things could get even more tense.
