Me and Roboco, which is scheduled to air as a 5-minute anime from January 2023, at first glance appears to be a series published in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comic, but it is actually a unique comedy manga published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The composition of the characters is similar to Doraemon, and the work as a whole is premised on paying homage to Doraemon. Within that Doraemon frame is a character called Roboco. I would like to introduce what kind of character Roboco is in this Dora frame!
A world where custom-made androids are commonplace, with one in every household!
In the world of this work, cute and highly functional female androids called custom-made are common in every household, but Nobita's protagonist, Heibon, doesn't have a custom-made one because he's poor. Roboco comes to Bond by mistake. Compared to the typical custom-made ones that are obedient and cute, Roboco is muscular and outrageous, looks like the real Gian, and has a crazy personality that goes all out.
Roboco is a clumsy custom-made one!
He's completely useless when it comes to cooking, taking care of his personal belongings, and other functions required for custom-made work. His cooking isn't even manly, and his cleaning is so messy that he makes an even bigger mess due to his overflowing destructive power. His personality is lazy to begin with, and even if he does something wrong, he acts like it's nothing, which can be annoying. In the original Doraemon, Nobita is a loser, but in this work, it's Roboco, the Doraemon character, who is the loser.
Roboco who hates humans
Perhaps because he was too useless as a custom-made product, he has received a lot of returns in the past, and is very sensitive to the word "return," and will reveal his hatred for humans if you hint at a return. At his worst, he will make extreme statements such as hating humanity so much that he wants to destroy them. Custom-made products are not supposed to have unnecessary emotions, but he does have a lot of unnecessary emotions.
Knee is nappa! Roboco with overwhelming fighting power
Roboco has a Saiyan body that is not suitable for a custom-made product. His knees are like Nappa's from Dragon Ball. Although Roboco is a bit of a piece of junk for a custom-made product, his sturdiness and fighting ability are Saiyan-level. Even though he was run over by a car while protecting Bond, the car was blown away, and he quickly fought back against the delinquents that were bothering him and made them his subordinates, making him the strongest in the series in terms of fighting. He also has the strength of a Hajikerist like Bobobo.
Beams from eyes and arms
Roboko can fire beams from his eyes and accurately shoot down enemies. He can also fire high-power beams from his arms. He is remembered as the strongest weapon with many legends from long ago, but he believes that he was given the nickname "weapon". Originally, it was because Roboko was shocked by the constant returns of his goods and went out to the battlefield due to the stress.
Roboco turns into a beautiful girl when she uses too much energy
Roboco usually looks like a giant and has a Saiyan build, but when he uses too much energy, he turns into a beautiful girl. His behavior is not much different from normal Roboco, but because his output drops significantly, he is able to do housework such as cooking and cleaning normally. When he replenishes his energy, he returns to normal.
Roboco, the most human character of all
All the characters in this work are good people and often end up with a harmless punchline. While the original Doraemon series often ends with people misusing secret gadgets and suffering terrible experiences, all the characters in this work are harmless good guys, but among them, the robot Roboco is the most human character in the work, with a desire for self-exhibitionism and a desire for recognition. He is also the most hilarious character in the work.
Roboco is actually loved by everyone
Although Roboco is the most nasty character in the series, he is loved not only by Bond and his friends, but also by the delinquents he has rehabilitated, the children, and the people of the town. He is approached by parody characters from Boys Over Flowers, and is actually quite popular. Roboco is not a bad character at all, and he just says dangerous things sometimes, but he is basically a good person.
Hajikerist, Roboko
If we compare Roboko to other Jump works, it would be Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. It is no exaggeration to say that it is a Hajikerist because everything it does is outrageous, outrageous, and chaotic. However, it is not as absurd, incomprehensible, and outrageous as the original Hajikerist. There were complaints about the Bobobo anime saying that it would make people go crazy, but I don't think that's the case with this work. It's a late-night anime anyway.
My biggest nemesis is my sister! Roboko
Roboko, who has a wild and crazy personality, seems to have no fear, but in fact, she has a terrible nemesis. That is her younger sister, Robomi, who is the Dorami slot. In stark contrast to her sister, she has a cute appearance and is more reliable than Roboko, but she is so feared that Roboko has an Enel face. She is a character who kills the lazy Roboko, who does whatever he wants by inserting parodies at every opportunity, and hits him with sound reason. She is a nemesis who does not tolerate any of the playfulness of Hajikerist Roboko, but that is the flip side of her kindness, as she cannot bear to see her sister get hurt after being returned.
Jump Brain, Roboko
Roboko is custom-made, but he is a muscle-brained boy and is not good at studying. Perhaps because he acts on impulse and momentum, he was the only one who did a slam dunk in a volleyball game. Bond quickly tries to teach Roboko the rules of volleyball, but it is no use. However, when he called Haikyu!!, he easily memorized the rules. It seems that it's easy to get into the head when it's related to Jump, as it does a lot of Jump parodies.
[Me and Roboco] Roboco Summary
I've introduced Roboco, the crazy robot that appears in Me and Roboco! It's a bright style compared to the many popular dark fantasy works that have appeared in Jump recently, and if you understand the parody material, it's a really fun work. It's a very fresh work in the Reiwa era of Jump, so please check it out!
