ULTRAMAN has started! For me, it's a work to watch this season. What's great about it is that it features a lot of nostalgic characters. All episodes of this work are already available on Netflix. The story is set in a world more than 20 years after the original Ultraman left Earth! So, this time, I'd like to introduce the past of the characters who appear in this ULTRAMAN!

What is Ultraman anyway?

Ultra Brothers
The Ultraman that appears in this work refers to the special effects work Ultraman, the original Ultraman, which was broadcast in 1966. Of course, it was produced by Tsuburaya Productions. He is from the Land of Light in the M78 Nebula, and is also the first Ultraman to come to Earth. In the first place, the Ultra Brothers refer to the group in the Land of Light's Space Guard that is in charge of defending the Earth, and are not real brothers. Ultraman Ken, known as the Father of Ultra. Ultraman Taro is actually the only real child of Ultrawoman Marie, known as the Mother of Ultra.
And Zoffy and Ace are real brothers.

What are Ultra Brothers?

Ultramen

Actually, the Ultraman brothers were originally four: the original Ultraman, Zoffy, Seven, and Return of Ultraman (Jack). Later, Ace and Taro were added, making six. In terms of time, it was around 1970. However, at this point, Tsuburaya Productions, the production company, began to dislike the brother setting. Perhaps they thought that the Ultraman series, which was popular at the time, would continue to add more friends in the future. This resulted in a complicated family tree. At that time, they were called the Six Great Warriors.

After that, Leo, 80, Astra, Mebius, and Hikari appeared, making the total number of brothers 11. Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia, who appeared after that, were set in parallel worlds, so they never became the Ultra Brothers.

Ultraman's Hometown: Nebula M78 and the Plasma Spark Core

Nebula M78

Nebula M78, the Land of Light, where Ultraman is from, actually exists near the constellation Orion. However, it was originally planned to be Nebula M87. At the time, the actual M87 Nebula was attracting attention because extremely powerful radio waves had been discovered there. The manuscript was handwritten, and when it was printed, it was mistakenly numbered 78. You can really see the era.

The planet where Ultraman lives once lost its sunlight. At that time, the people of the Land of Light dressed in the same way as humans on Earth. Without the light of the sun, the planet would perish...So the elders of the Land of Light created an artificial sun made of a plasma spark core and a tower, and saved the planet from crisis. As a result of the influence of that artificial sun, the people of the Land of Light ended up looking like the Ultramen of today.

Why Ultraman Protected the Earth

The story of Ultraman protecting the Earth from space monsters was the content of the original Ultraman. The reason why Ultraman fought to save the Earth is the content of the first episode of Ultraman, "Ultra Operation No. 1". At that time, Ultraman, who is a member of the Space Guard, was transporting a certain space monster to the space graveyard, but it escaped on the way. The escaped enemy was Bemular. Bemular turned into a blue ball and escaped to Earth. Ultraman came to Earth as a red ball to chase it. Officer Hayata of the Science Special Search Party discovered the blue ball that had flown to Earth and began to pursue it. However, during the chase, he comes into contact with a red ball and loses his life. Ultraman revives Hayata's life by assimilating with him. After that, Hayata fights on Earth as Ultraman who saves the Earth.

Ultraman leaves Earth and Hayata loses his memory

Zetto no Hochi

In the final episode aired on April 9, 1967, Zetton appears. Ultraman is defeated by Zetton. Meanwhile, Dr. Iwamoto gives the Science Special Search Party a secret weapon. And with this secret weapon, the Earthlings were able to defeat Zetton. Meanwhile, Zoffy, the captain of the Space Guard, appears before the defeated Ultraman. Zoffy gives Ultraman a new life. Then, he separates Ultraman from Officer Hayata. With that, Hayata regains his own life. Then, Zoffy takes Ultraman back to the Land of Light. However, Officer Hayata has lost all of his memories of the time he and Ultraman were together.
