The flutes possessed by White Whistles differ from those of other explorers in that they are crafted from a second-grade relic, Your Worth (a stone that resonates with life), and possess special effects.

They always have a nickname like "Lord XX"

White Whistles also have nicknames that reflect their character's characteristics. Knowing the meaning and origin of these names, such as the Lord of Dawn "New Bondrewd" and the Unmoving Lord "Immovable Ozen," makes creation even more enjoyable. Only White Whistles are permitted to descend from the fifth layer of the Abyss, at a depth of 12,000 meters. There, White Whistles discover relics that other explorers cannot find, and by equipping them, they gain their own abilities. Each of the White Whistles introduced in this article has their own unique abilities, making them one of the elements of Made in Abyss enjoyable.

Ozen's nickname seems to come from the fact that he has remained a White Whistle for over 50 years without changing his name. It's surprising that he's been a White Whistle for 50 years, but it also makes you wonder how old he really is, considering that he appears to be a young woman.

While details have yet to be revealed, this is a massive, heavy-looking suit of armor covering Ozen's entire body, measuring two meters. Owen, who showed extraordinary strength in his fight with Reg, is seen wearing it again in the middle of the battle, suggesting it may be hiding some secret.

The origin of Ryza's nickname has not yet been revealed in the story. Taking the word "annihilation" literally, one might imagine a terrifying anecdote about her having massacred something in the past. At the very least, she appears to have defeated countless dangerous creatures, and it's clear that she was a very powerful being. However, she is a petite, beautiful woman with long, wavy blonde hair.

It seems that Liza was actually Ozen's apprentice. Even though she was kicked around several times during her time as a Red Whistle, her continued promotion of herself as his apprentice suggests that she will eventually become a White Whistle.

A White Whistle, always covered in a mask and what appears to be a powered suit. He treats everyone with kindness and gentlemanliness, and is described by Ozen as a "hardcore scoundrel." He lives in the Ido Front, a forward base and research facility located directly above the ruins on the 5th floor that lead down to the 6th floor.

It's said that Bondrewd's nickname comes from the fact that he "tramples on good traditions and the pride of explorers to bring about the dawn." Bondrewd will resort to inhumane means to achieve his goals, even conducting genocidal experiments.

Light Returned to the Cardinal (Sparragmos)

Bondrewd's abilities remain a mystery in the anime, but he appears to be able to fire a beam of light with a similar effect to Reg's Cremation Cannon. The beam, fired from Bondrewd's elbow, has the power to disintegrate and destroy anything it touches.
