The third season of "Laid-Back Camp△," a series about high school girls enjoying a laid-back camping trip, will air in April 2024. It has also been adapted into a movie and a live-action drama, and it's fair to say it sparked the recent camping boom. With the third season airing, many people will want to recap the content of the previous series, Season 2. However, some people may not have the time to watch every episode to the end. So, this time, we've compiled a review of Season 2 in one article! Please note that this article contains spoilers for those who haven't seen Season 2 yet.

The End of the Year for Each

The story begins at the end of the year. Starting with Kakamigahara Nadeshiko, the members of the Outdoor Activities Club (commonly known as No-Kuru) were all working hard at part-time jobs. Nadeshiko was working a short-term part-time job at the post office with Saito Ena. During their break, Nadeshiko and Ena got excited talking about the camping equipment they each wanted. Meanwhile, Shima Rin was planning a solo camping trip. After discussing it with her father, they decided to camp in Iwata. Rin set off early in the morning and happened to meet Nadeshiko along the way. Nadeshiko gave Rin a curry-flavored cup ramen she had bought at a convenience store. Curry-flavored cup ramen is a familiar item from the first season. Meanwhile, Inuyama Aoi, along with Ogaki Chiaki and her sister Akari, went to see the first sunrise of the year in their advisor, Mr. Toba's car. The four of them were able to see the first sunrise safely. Each of them spent a meaningful end to the year.

Rin and Nadeshiko's Winter Break

After enjoying a solo camping trip in Shizuoka, Rin finds herself unable to return home. Nadeshiko invites Rin to visit her grandmother's house. Before their trip, the two diners ate high-quality eel, a level of luxury beyond the reach of most high school students. Thanks to Nadeshiko's father's generous gift, they were able to enjoy the meal. The eel preparation scene is quite realistic and well worth the watch. Those who dislike blood may be shocked. Later, Rin meets Ayano, Nadeshiko's childhood friend. That evening, the three of them went to the observation deck and talked about various things. After winter break, the members of the Outdoor Club were discussing how they would spend their part-time job earnings. They got excited talking about the camping gear they wanted to buy with their part-time job earnings. Meanwhile, Rin and Ena were also in the library, discussing how they would spend their part-time job earnings.

Camping at Lake Yamanaka

Aoi, Chiaki, and Ena were planning a camping trip to Lake Yamanaka. Preparations went smoothly, and on the day, they enjoyed the beautiful lakeside at Omama Cape Campground. However, Aoi and her friends were still unaware of the harshness of camping at Lake Yamanaka in the winter. As night approaches, Lake Yamanaka gradually gets colder. Being at a high altitude, it's even colder than where they usually live. Aoi and her friends panic at the -15°C cold, but thanks to the help of a parent and child camping and Rin's contact, Mr. Toba, they're able to escape unscathed. This episode made the three of them reflect on their lack of preparation. Camping is fun, but this episode shows that without proper research, you can end up in a scary situation.

Nadeshiko's Solo Camp

Nadeshiko has finally decided to try solo camping. After hearing various stories from Rin, a veteran solo camper, she begins preparations for her weekend solo camping trip. On the day itself, Nadeshiko walks a long way until she arrives at the campsite. She sets up her tent and starts cooking. Meanwhile, Rin is also enjoying her trip alone. While she is thoroughly enjoying her trip, she becomes worried when she hasn't heard from Nadeshiko. Having started solo camping because of her influence, Rin feels responsible and goes to check on her. Despite her worries, Nadeshiko continues to cook and becomes friends with a brother and sister who have come to the campsite. Nadeshiko enjoys her camping trip without incident, and Rin's worries turn out to be unfounded. Nadeshiko's older sister, Sakura, is also worried, and comes to check on her, just like Rin.

Camping in Izu Part 1

Nadeshiko and her friends were planning a new camping trip. They decided on Izu and began preparing for their trip. Nadeshiko was struggling with cooking, while Rin was trying to power up her moped. Their advisor, Mr. Toba, was so determined that he had abstained from alcohol for about a month. On the day of camp, Nadeshiko and her friends traveled in his car, while Rin headed ahead on her moped. They met up and headed out to buy dinner, but a surprise plan was brewing behind the scenes: a birthday party for Nadeshiko and Aoi, who share the same birthday. They purchased alfonsino and spiny lobster, making for a truly extravagant party. Later, they encountered a problem: the place they had planned to stay was unavailable, but they managed to find another place to stay.

Camping in Izu Part 2

After a soak in the hot springs, enjoying the food, and watching videos, everyone retired to their tents. Sleepless members chatted with each other, and Rin even took a quick ride on her moped before dawn, enjoying her own time. The next day, the group enjoyed Izu seafood before heading to Dogashima, then to the Nishiizu Skyline. And that night was finally the time to pull off the birthday surprise. The surprise was a success, and everyone enjoyed dinner together. The next day, on Day 3, they set off for Mt. Omuro. The group enjoyed the capybaras and other adorable animals at the zoo. The trip was finally coming to an end, and before they knew it, they were on their way home. After arriving home, Nadeshiko checked her phone and became concerned about Rin's lack of response. Rin had previously worried about Nadeshiko's solo camping trips, so it's wonderful to see the mutual concern they have built. The two later reunited and reminisced.
