Kyoto Animation, known for producing classic anime such as Lucky Star, will release "20th Century Electric Catalog" on August 10th under its light novel label, KA Esuma Bunko. "20th Century Electric Catalog" is a new love story from Kyoto Animation, featuring the themes of "Meiji x Summer x Kyoto." It's a highly anticipated work that's also slated for an anime adaptation.

20th Century Electric Catalog Synopsis

20th Century Electric Catalog is set in Kyoto, Japan, in the year 1907, just as the 20th century began. Ineko Momokawa, a fanatical believer in Shinto and Buddhism, and Kihachi Sakamoto, who rejects Shinto and Buddhism and boasts that electricity is what will save people, meet and clash, but the situation changes dramatically when Ineko's father arranges their marriage.

The key to stopping the marriage lies in the mysterious book "Electric Catalog," a childhood document in which Kihachi fantasized about "future electrical inventions." His older brother, Seiroku, stole it and went missing. Inako, who truly wants to "run away from marriage," is Kihachi, who brings out her feelings. The two set out on the run, searching for the "Electric Catalog." Why is the "Electric Catalog" needed to stop the marriage? What is the truth hidden within the book?

The 20th Century Electric Catalog's Illustrations Are Also Appealing

Another exciting aspect is that the illustrations are handled by Kyoto Animation staff, led by character designer Kazumi Ikeda of the anime series "Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!"

The 20th Century Electric Catalog is gaining attention, being promoted on the official Twitter account.

The book has been featured on the official Twitter accounts of Kyoto Animation and KA Esuma Bunko, and online coverage is on the rise.
