Aqua, the dumbest of the heroines in KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!, makes mistakes at every opportunity and bursts into tears when Kazuma gets angry at her. She often gets carried away afterwards and bursts into tears again...Aqua's crying has become a standard element in KonoSuba!. In this article, we'll be looking back at some of the scenes in the first half of the series, from episodes 1 to 5, where Aqua bursts into tears or becomes teary-eyed, along with the reasons why.
I burst into tears when Kazuma took me to another world
The memorable first time I burst into tears was when Kazuma took me to his new world as a "thing" after I continued to make fun of him after he died. Her words that she can't fight because she's a goddess are in vain, and the sight of her raging and crying as a magic circle appears and she is reincarnated is tragic, as it's all her own doing.
Arriving in Another World and Crying Her Heart Out
Are you okay? Upon arriving in the other world, Aqua immediately grabs Kazuma by the collar and bursts into tears, but there is no light in her eyes anymore and she shakes him with a look of despair. Kazuma, who has become annoyed, tells her she can go home, but with no way to go home, she begins crying again as she thinks about the future.
Tearful after receiving money from a follower of a junior goddess
In order to receive the fee required to become an adventurer, Aqua tells an old man at the guild that she is a goddess and tries to borrow money. However, the man turns out to be a follower of a junior goddess named "Eris," and so she ends up receiving the money from him. Aqua returns to Kazuma, tears welling up as she explains her feelings of respect to him...
Swallowed Whole by a Giant Frog
The two set out to defeat a giant frog called a Giant Toad. As usual, Aqua gets carried away and ends up being swallowed whole. Kazuma manages to rescue her, only to find Aqua covered in mucus and smelling fishy... a rare moment of tears as she weeps and thanks Kazuma.
Just when she thought she'd harvested cabbage, she bursts into tears over lettuce
Kazuma and his friends successfully harvested flying cabbages during an emergency quest, but Aqua ended up harvesting lettuce, which is less expensive. Aqua, who was eating and drinking on credit, expecting to make a large sum of money, begs Kazuma, who has just earned 1 million Eris, to lend her money.
Useless, Falsely Crying
One day, Kazuma announces that he wants to give up on defeating the Demon King, and Aqua bursts into tears, saying that it would be a problem if he couldn't go home. He was treated even worse and you'd think he'd burst into tears... but when Kazuma took his eyes off him, he would glance at him, and when Kazuma turned to face him, he would start crying loudly again, showing he'd even mastered fake crying.
Crying Because She Wants Money So Much
With no easy quests to fill, Aqua started working part-time selling croquettes in the shopping district. However, the work proved so tough that she begged Kazuma to accept quests and earn some money. However, once Kazuma agreed, she ran off on her foot soldiers, raising suspicions that her crying was fake.
Crying After Being Attacked by a Crocodile
Aqua, who was inside a sturdy cage purifying the lake, was attacked by a giant crocodile. She screamed and cried while repeatedly casting purification spells. Usually, she'd joke around by using "kachoufugetsu" (flowers, birds, wind, and moon) in between spells, but this time, she was completely serious and only used purification spells.
Tearful After Being Charged for Cage Repairs
After being attacked by a giant crocodile, he managed to complete the quest alone and earn 300,000 Eris, only to be shocked to find out that 200,000 Eris had been deducted for cage repairs. Later, when Mitsurugi Kyoya appeared and broke the cage, he extorted a generous repair fee of 300,000 Eris from him.
Summary
So far, we've presented a digest of Aqua's tearful and tearful scenes from episodes 1 through 5. Looking back, this goddess is crying almost every week... Most of the time, she's crying loudly, but she's also gradually started to fake her tears, making her an even more annoying goddess. However, this crying scene is also what makes Aqua so charming and cute! There are many other crying scenes in the second half of season 1 and season 2, so I would like to introduce more of them next time!
