The original work is a Sengoku battle manga by Yasuhisa Hara. It began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2006, with the first anime season airing in 2012, the second in 2013, and the third in 2020. A PlayStation Portable game was released in 2010, and a live-action film was released in 2019, making it a popular series that has been adapted into various media. The story is set in China during the Spring and Autumn Warring States period. The protagonist, Shin, a war orphan, and Sei, who would later become the first emperor of the Qin dynasty, strive to achieve something no one has ever accomplished before: unify China. While the story is based on historical facts, the personalities and appearances of the characters, as well as the battle situations of each country, have been adapted for an easy-to-follow and entertaining manga. Kingdom features many fascinating characters. What makes someone strong? Without military might, you can't defeat a general, and without intelligence, you can't take a country. Since it's difficult to compare overall strength, this time we'll compare them purely by military strength.
10th Place: Wang Ben
10th place goes to Wang Ben, a member of the main royal family. He serves as the captain of the Gyokuho Squad and rivals Shin and Meng Tian, both young generals who carry the weight of a new era. He is proud, has impressive spear skills, and looks down on Shin, who was once a slave. While he currently has no notable military achievements, he will rise through the ranks and defeat Wei.
9th Place: Shin
9th place goes to Shin, the protagonist and captain of the Hi Shin Unit. He was already strong thanks to his intensive training with Hyo, but he rapidly grows as he gains experience on the battlefield. Considering his future success, he should be ranked higher, but as of now, he's no match for the top generals, so he's ranked 9th.
8th Place: Kyou Kai
8th place goes to Kyou Kai, the young Chiyou and vice-commander of the Hi Shin Unit. Using a unique breathing technique called "Shaman Dance," her beautiful, dance-like swordplay is said to be superhuman. Deep breathing makes her sword stronger and faster, but it also puts a great strain on her body. She was able to hold her own against Hou Nuan to some extent, so I think her momentary strength is quite high, but the recoil of her breathing makes her weak in prolonged battles, which is why she's ranked 8th.
7th Place: Wang Jian
7th place goes to Wang Jian, General Meng Ao's aide-de-camp and Wang Ben's father. Wang Jian's motto was to only fight battles he could win, and he quickly retreated when confronting Lian Po. At first glance, he may seem like a coward, but in the Warring States period, when only the survivors were victorious, this kind of caution may have been the secret to his strength. While Wang Jian may not have achieved much at present, historically he made a significant contribution to the unification of China, and his strength was so great that Lian Po was concerned about him, which is why he is ranked 7th.
6th Place: Teng
6th place goes to Teng, who serves as an adjutant to Wang Qi's army. With a Nordic-like appearance and a distinctive way of speaking, Teng was generally regarded as Wang Qi's advisor, but when he entered the battlefield, his strength was overwhelming, and even Wang Qi recognized Teng's strength. Many people must have recognized Teng's strength when they saw him single-handedly defeat Pang Nuan's army and allow Wang Qi to escape after Wang Qi was defeated in the battle against Zhao. After Wang Qi's death, he became a great general and made a significant contribution to the unification of China.
5th Place: Meng Wu
5th place goes to Meng Wu, the son of General Meng Ao. He believes that martial arts are everything, and even Changwenjun says that Meng Wu is the best in the Qin Dynasty when it comes to offense. However, his weak defense is a flaw. Meng Wu is selfish, attempting to revive the Six Great Generals and refusing to acknowledge the existence of Wang Qi. However, he ignored Wang Qi's advice and fell into Zhao's trap, ultimately putting the Qin Dynasty at a disadvantage. Teng also says that after Wang Qi's death, Meng Wu's experiences have allowed him to grow significantly as a military commander.
4th Place: Hyoko
4th place goes to Hyoko, who served as the commander-in-chief of the Qin state during Shin's first battle. He was feared as an instinctive general, sensing the battle situation with his five senses rather than his head. The Hyoko army led by Wang Qi is said to even surpass Wang Qi's, demonstrating his military might and leadership skills. After defeating the Wei general Wu Qing, he didn't advance based on momentum, but instead declared his return home after assessing the situation of his own army, demonstrating his ability to make calm decisions.
Third Place: Lian Po
Third place goes to Lian Po, one of the former Three Great Generals of Zhao. Having stood shoulder to shoulder with the Six Great Generals of Qin and fought alongside them on the battlefield countless times, Lian Po's prowess goes without saying. It's quite moving to see Wang Qi, the surviving member of the Six Great Generals, and Lian Po, the surviving member of the Three Great Generals, sharing a drink together. Though they were once enemies, they likely share a bond born from their repeated life-or-death battles. Lian Po struggled to accept the changing times, but he came to a realization after hearing from Shin about Wang Qi's final moments. The scene where Shin tells him that the unification of China is proof that he has surpassed them was heartwarming.
2nd Place: Pang Nuan
Ranked second is Pang Nuan, one of the Three Great Generals of New Zhao. He isn't a commander of an army, but rather charges into enemy camps alone and crushes them, truly worthy of the title of God of War. He has defeated Gyou, one of the Six Great Generals, in the past, and although he was nearly killed by Wang Qi once, he put up a very good fight. With Wang Qi gone, who can defeat the war god Hou Nuan? It's no wonder!
1st Place: Wang Qi
The honorable first place goes to General Wang Qi, the last surviving of the Six Great Generals of the Qin Dynasty! Skilled in both literature and martial arts, Wang Qi was known as the Qin's most powerful and powerful bird, and his movements were closely watched by the entire nation of China. Whenever Wang Qi raised his voice, morale soared, and when he led the army, his troops were transformed into demons. Ou Ki's strength was so undeniable that everyone believed he could win if he made a move. Unfortunately, he was killed by Houken due to interference, but I believe Ou Ki is undoubtedly the strongest.
Who is the Strongest?! Top 10 Rankings Comparing Pure Strength
What do you think? This ranking is based on my own personal opinion and bias, based on the performances of Shin and Sei in the first two seasons of the anime. As the story progresses, these rankings will likely change significantly, so please use them only as a reference. Also, the overall strength rankings will likely change dramatically, with characters like Rimaki and Shohei-kun making the cut!
