The Hi Shin Unit, named by Ou Ki, the sixth general of the Qin dynasty, during the defense of Mayang in 244 BC, is a unit led by Shin. Originally formed as a special hundred-man unit under Ou Ki's direct command, the unit has grown through its achievements in battle and by absorbing units that have lost their captains. It is characterized by its exceptional offensive and breakthrough power, and its commander, Shin, is known for leading the charge.

Hi Shin Unit's Achievements

The Hi Shin Unit has achieved many accomplishments in each battle. First, in the defense of Mayang, their first battle after formation, they defeated Zhao general Feng Ji, instantly making Shin's name known on the battlefield. Another particularly impressive achievement was the defeat of General Rinko, one of Lian Po's Four Heavenly Kings, during the Battle of Shanyang in 242 BC, when they fought against the Wei army led by Lian Po. He has a very rough personality, but he's also manly and ambitious. He also has a strong dislike for injustice, and hates acts such as plundering or raping defeated countries. He is the type of person who will see things through once he has made a decision, and will discard anyone who behaves cowardly, even if they are fellow soldiers.
Shin's Strength
Shin has trained since he was a child, dreaming of becoming a general. As a result, he is extremely skilled in swordsmanship. He also possesses incredible physical abilities, and has overcome many difficult situations.
He is also a top-class horse rider, and is able to ride a horse with ease despite having barely practiced at all. While he is not good at strategizing, his ability to break through and complete the missions he is given is remarkable.

Karyo Ten

Karyo Ten

Karyo Ten is a female character who serves as the military strategist for the Hi Shin Unit. She has been friends with Shin since the beginning and often works alongside him and Masa. Karyo Ten is a descendant of the mountain people and lived in Kohi Village. She hid her gender until halfway through the story, but revealed it when she became Shin and the others' military strategist. She has short black hair and large eyes, and is generally tomboyish yet kind-hearted. Karyo Ten originally fought with a blowgun. However, because she is a woman, she was unable to fight alongside Shin and others. However, by acquiring knowledge of military strategists, she serves as the Hi Shin Unit's strategist, formulating strategies and supporting Shin and his men. She possesses excellent insight and often outwits her opponents, making her an exceptionally skilled strategist. Kyou Kai

Kyou Kai has been a member of the Hi Shin Unit since its inception and was Shin's second-in-command during their first battle. She serves as a vice-commander in the Hi Shin Unit and is a commander of 3,000 men. A woman from the Chiyou clan, a legendary group of assassins, she is one of the few survivors. After her sister was killed, she traveled the world seeking revenge, but by joining Hi Shin Unit she found a new place to belong, and after achieving her revenge she aims to become a general alongside Shin. Kyou fights with twin swords and has defeated many foes to date. She is skilled in the beautiful dance-like fighting technique known as the Witch Dance, which was passed down within the Chiyou clan, and by breathing deeply she enters a trance-like state, fighting with incredible concentration. She possesses extremely high skills and talent in combat, including swordsmanship, strategy, and insight, and until Karyo Ten joined Hi Shin Unit she also served as a military strategist.

Fuchi

Tachikawa

Fuchi is a large character who serves as the vice-commander of the Hi Shin Unit. He served as Shin's caretaker at the command of Ou Ki during Shin's time as a commander of 100 men, and has since served as one of the Hi Shin Unit's vice-captains. He has a very earnest personality and a strong sense of responsibility, earning the trust of both Shin and Karyo Ten. He lacked confidence and questioned his own aptitude for serving as vice-captain, but he gained confidence by fighting honestly to protect the unit. He is a character who excels in combat and executes strategies.

Chosui

Who is this?

Chosui is the vice-commander of the Hi Shin Unit. He was originally the vice-commander of the Guo Bei Unit, but after Guo Bei was killed, he temporarily joined the Hi Shin Unit and has been active as a member of the Hi Shin Unit ever since. He has a very serious and calm personality, and can be a bit inflexible. However, as a former vice-commander of the Guo Bei Unit, he possesses exceptional skills. He is skilled in handling cavalry, and former members of the Guo Bei Unit now operate as the Hi Shin Unit's most mobile cavalry unit.

Gakurei

Like Fuchi and Sosui, Gakurei is a vice-commander of the Hi Shin Unit and serves as a commander of a thousand men. A stern man with a distinctive beard, he was originally a subordinate of General Bōkō. However, after Bōkō's death in battle with the allied forces, he officially joined the Hi Shin Unit. As a member of the aggressive Bōkō Unit, he possesses exceptional skills and impressive breakthrough power.

Taari

Strong guy

Taari is a commander of a thousand men in the Hi Shin Unit. He is one of the largest characters in the unit, and is characterized by his stern face. He has known Shin since their first battle, and they trust each other. He is highly valued and effective in situations that require strength, such as breaking through enemies in one go or establishing a base.

Naki

Naki

Naki is a commander of the Hi Shin Unit. Originally a commander of the Kanki army, he was ordered by Kanki to switch places with Ohei during the Battle of Kokuyo Hill. He joined the Hi Shin Unit after being inspired by Shin's fighting style, personality, and way of life as a commander, and volunteered to join. While he usually appears calm and easygoing, his comrades in the Kanki army have warned him that he can be extremely frightening when provoked.

Ryukawa

Ryukawa is a commander of the Hi Shin Unit.
He is the largest of the Hi Shin Unit's members and possesses top-class strength. He excels at confronting infantry during charges and building bases, and has many unassuming accomplishments.

Ohei

Behei

Ohei is a character with distinctive bucktooth and is the commander of the Hi Shin Unit. He grew up in the same hometown as Shin, the unit's captain, and as they have known each other for the longest time, he is also Shin's greatest understanding friend. They first fought together, fought as comrades, and have survived many life-threatening situations. Once, when he fought as part of Kanki's army, he was seduced by Kanki's forces into stealing, and Shin ordered him to leave. However, he was allowed to rejoin the unit.
