[Karakuri Circus] Top 10 Famous Scenes: "Goodbye Lucille"

Lucille, the first Shirogane destined to destroy the automatons, uses the Angelina doll's curse to stop the movement of the four oldest members. However, of all the survivors, only Dottore, his son's murderer, was able to take action.

Lucille provokes Dottore, saying that if he thinks, "Francine has nothing to do with me," he can break the curse and kill her. Dottore takes the bait and breaks the curse of the Angelina doll, killing Lucille, but in doing so he also gives up his own reason for existence. Having lost his reason for existence, Dottore dies in despair, while Lucille achieves her revenge in the best way possible, entrusting the rest to Narumi and setting off on a journey. It's a scene that will make you cry, as it's the coolest and most powerful scene from the strongest old woman.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scene Ranking #9: "The Devil Descends"

Eleanor, cornered by Harlequin, takes refuge in a church. There, a surviving priest is praying to God. However, in her desperate situation, it is not God who appears, but the automaton's demon.

After defeating Harlequin and saving Eleanor, Kato Narumi transforms from a demon back into a human. This scene could be considered the final destination for Kato Narumi, one of the main characters of Karakuri Circus.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scene Ranking #8: "I Can't Tell You"

In the deadly battle in the Sahara, almost all of the Shirogane and the automatons were wiped out. His companions lost limbs and died protecting Narumi. With everything entrusted to his comrades, Shirogane and the others, Kato Narumi finally reaches his destination, the Francine doll.

However, the Francine doll was a fake! Everything was supposed to be a sacrifice to destroy the Francine doll, but the Francine doll here was a fake. Meanwhile, Fatima, who had been fighting a life-or-death battle with Pantalone to buy time, was on her deathbed. Narumi was unable to tell the dying Fatima the truth. Fatima then scattered, which was one of the reasons why Kato Narumi abandoned his emotions and gave up being human.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scene Ranking #7: "The Laughing Francine Doll"

Francine Doll, Shirogane's enemy and the leader of the automatons, had been searching for a long time for a way to laugh, but she was feeling "tired" after not finding a way. Francine doll entrusts her role to a replacement doll and appears before Saiga Shoji to be destroyed.

After many twists and turns, Francine doll lives with Saiga Shoji and Angelina, and awakens to her heart after witnessing Eleonor's birth. However, an automaton that for some reason does not listen to her commands attacks, and Francine doll risks her own life to protect Eleonor.

Francine doll desperately protects Eleonor, her body dissolving in the water of life that has been released by the "soft stone" inside Eleonor. Her heart has already begun to grow, and in this scene she is finally able to smile as she rocks Eleonor to sleep.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scene Ranking #6: "The Fall of Guy Christophe Rech"

The circus members board a train for the final battle. However, Guy stays behind and instead intercepts the attacking automatons. After fighting for so long, Guy's body was nearing its limit.

But even so, he entrusts his hopes to Katsu and Narumi, and after burying 3,000 automatons, Guy ends his life in Olympia's arms. The final scene where he is held in Olympia's arms is a memorable one. It's a tear-jerker, but it also makes your heart warm with the events that lie ahead.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scenes Ranking #5: "What was the point of all the fighting up until now...?"

During the battle in the Sahara, most of the Shirogane perished, entrusting everything to Kato Narumi. Despite losing all four limbs, Narumi carries the hopes of his comrades and is resurrected using their puppets as his limbs.
After defeating the last four, Kato Narumi finally reaches his ultimate goal: the Francine doll.

However, the Francine doll tells him that she is a fake. Despite the sacrifices of many, he finally arrives at a cruel truth. This is the cry of Kato Narumi's soul at that moment, and it can be said that this was the biggest trigger for him to give up being human.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scene Ranking #4: "The Automaton's Desire"

The Automaton's Desire Comes TrueSource: Karakuri Circus © Kazuhiro Fujita, Shogakukan / Twin Engine

The four oldest members, who once stood in Shirogane's way as enemies, are revealed by Faceless to have discovered that the Francine doll they had been protecting was a fake. Their reason for existence was to make Francine laugh, so they lost sight of their own reason for existence. However, after meeting Eleanor, who inherited Francine's memories and was her spitting image, they became loyal to her.

However, Arlecchino and Pantalone are nearly destroyed in the battle with the final four, but the last thing they see is Eleanor laughing from the heart. When Arlecchino asks Pantalone, who is now just a head, "Are you watching?", Pantalone is laughing. It is a touching scene in which the automatons finally achieve their long-cherished wish and fulfill their role in satisfaction.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scenes Ranking #3: "Columbine's Happiness"

Like Arlecchino and Pantalone, the last four Columbines were also captured by Faceless. Their reason for existence was lost when the Francine doll was revealed to be a fake. However, after turning loyal to Eleonore, they began supporting Saiga Katsu.

Katsu was skeptical of Columbine's actions, but she broke off with Faceless and engaged in combat with Dia and Mantina. However, she released her defenses to save Katsu and Eleonore, who had fallen from the shuttle, and was nearly destroyed.

Columbine was interested in human romance. Even during the battle in the Sahara, she longed to be embraced by her loved one, but ultimately, she was meant to die in despair, wondering what her life had been. However, Katsu appeared and embraced Columbine in tears. Unlike Arlecchino and Pantalone, she was satisfied with her life and concluded her mission with some final words for Katsu. This is, for me, the most tear-jerking scene.

[Karakuri Circus] Famous Scene Ranking #2: "I Was Wrong"

Faceless Was WrongSource: Karakuri Circus © Kazuhiro Fujita, Shogakukan / Twin Engine

The final boss of this work, "Faceless," has lived for hundreds of years and is the source of almost all of the feuds in Karakuri Circus. This is the scene where a man who never once reflected on his actions during the final battle with Saiga Katsu is influenced by Saiga Katsu, who is in the same position as him, and dies while admitting his mistake.

Katsu boards the space station to find out about Zonaha disease from Faceless, and asks him why he didn't take Eleanor away from him. Katsu says that Eleanor first fell in love with Narumi, and that he doesn't think she would be happy even if he had taken her away from her.

Saiga Katsu, who is in the same younger brother position as Faceless, was in a sense the same position as Faceless, not chosen by the woman he loved. Katsu's choice and Diamantina's intrusion make him realize the ugliness of his own selfishness.

Faceless then has a change of heart, and works with Saiga Katsu to escape the crisis. Faceless then understands the feelings of an older brother who watches over his younger brother, and after allowing Saiga Katsu to escape, he utters an apology as if to bring the curtain down on everything. A famous scene befitting the end of the story.

[Karakuri Circus] Best Scene Ranking #1: "The Scene Where Narumi and Katsu Fight Together"

The Scene Where Katsu and Narumi Fight TogetherSource: Karakuri Circus © Kazuhiro Fujita, Shogakukan / Twin Engine

This is the scene where the two main characters meet again and fight together. Narumi Kato became Shirogane, becoming strong enough to overcome the corpses of his comrades and give up his humanity. Masaru Saiga learned about his past and met many people, becoming even stronger.

When these two fight back to back, they are unstoppable. This is a truly memorable scene where two episodes from Karakuri Circus intersect. It's also incredibly moving that Narumi Kato didn't know that this was Masaru Saiga. I believe this scene represents the culmination of Karakuri Circus.
