Currently serialized on the manga magazine app "Shonen Jump+," "Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Reasoning" is a super-authentic mystery featuring the duo of Ron Kamonohashi, a detective said to be a genius, and Totsumaru Isshiki, a goofy but passionate character. An anime adaptation is scheduled to air in October of this year, and is already generating a lot of buzz. It's an authentic mystery story, but what kind of characters will appear? In this article, we'll introduce the main characters, including the protagonist Ron and his partner Totsumaru! Be sure to do some homework before you watch the anime!
Introduction: Story Summary
Ron Kamonohashi was a promising young detective at a detective training school, but he was banned from detective work due to a fatal flaw: his deductive reasoning often led criminals to commit suicide. He then met Todomaru Isshiki of the First Investigative Division, and teamed up with him to once again embark on the path of deductive reasoning. They face a variety of challenging cases.
Kamonobashi Ron
This is the protagonist of this work. While attending Detective Training School BLUE, he was known as a genius due to his outstanding deductive abilities and was expected to have a bright future. However, he suffered a fatal flaw: he would unconsciously drive criminals to suicide after making deductions, which led to his loss of his detective license. He was subsequently expelled from school and banned from his life as a detective. He lost the will to live and lived a reclusive life for a long time. However, he met Isshiki Todomaru, a pure-hearted, absent-minded, yet hardworking detective, and by teaming up with him, they once again began tackling difficult cases. His favorite food is brown sugar syrup, and he also drinks black sesame paste to prevent anemia.
Isshiki Totsumaru
He's a detective in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division. The story is told from Totsumaru's perspective. While he's often clumsy and silly, he's also very pure and passionate, leading Ron to call him a "pure idiot." While passionate, he also has a somewhat short-sighted way of thinking. When he first met Ron, he was troubled by his free-spirited behavior, but gradually their relationship grew closer. Incidentally, voice actor Wataru Murase lists Isshiki Totsumaru as his favorite character. He explains his reasoning as, "I feel the essence of author Akira Amano's style in the way a pathetic and unreliable character grows."
Amamiya
He is Todomaru Isshiki's superior and a detective in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division. His last name is Amamiya, but his given name is not revealed. He is an elite-minded individual with aspirations of becoming the Metropolitan Police Commissioner General. He is in charge of deciding which cases are assigned to the First Investigative Division and serves as a sort of coordinator. He is beautiful, mature, and intelligent, and has many fans within the police station. However, he has a somewhat rough personality and manner of speaking. For this reason, Todomaru fears him as a formidable senior. However, despite her usually cool personality, she sometimes behaves in a girly manner in front of Ron, making her a charming character.
Spitz Fire
She is a sympathetic character who teaches "Tracking Studies" at BLUE, the detective training school where Ron Kamonohashi attended. Using her specialized tracking skills, she keeps an eye on Ron, who is prohibited from engaging in detective work, to make sure he isn't acting as a detective on his own. However, it seems she has other reasons for keeping an eye on Ron, making her a character whose movements are of great interest.
Summary of Main Characters
Starting with the protagonist, Ron Kamonohashi, the series features a unique cast of characters. Although Todomaru is often at the mercy of the unique, free-spirited, yet intelligent Ron, the two build a good relationship. It's also intriguing to see the relationship between Amamiya and Ron, and how Spitz will become involved with Ron. I'm looking forward to the anime airing! That's all for today. Thank you for reading.
