[JoJo's Bizarre Adventure] A summary of the abilities of the main characters

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the story of the Joestar family and Dio, who has become a vampire. Unlike other manga, JoJo's Bizarre Story has a unique format in which the main character changes with each installment. As of January 2018, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's eighth installment, "JoJolion," is currently being serialized in Ultra Jump. Jonathan Joestar

Jonathan Joestar is the British heir to the Joestar family. He is the protagonist of Part 1 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, "Phantom Blood." He is very kind and caring towards his father and family, but Dio took advantage of this and harassed him, nearly taking over the Joestar family. He is also an archaeologist and is conducting his own research on the Stone Mask.

Jonathan Joestar is a Ripple user. Ripples are an ability that allows one to activate one's own abilities through breathing techniques. By using these Ripples, one can even gain the power to defeat vampires. Jonathan Joestar's special move is Sunshine Yellow Overdrive. Sunshine Yellow Overdrive is extremely powerful as it allows the Ripples to flow directly into the opponent with a strike.

Joseph Joestar

Joseph Joestar is the protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2, "Battle Tendency." He is the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, the protagonist of Part 1. Joseph Joestar has a playful personality and seems more light-hearted than Jonathan, joking around more often. However, he is just as caring towards his allies, and in combat, he also has a calculating side, outwitting his opponents.

Joseph Joestar's Ability: Hermit Purple

Like Jonathan, Joseph Joestar fights using Ripples. While initially unable to use them at all, he has developed a knack for mastering them after a short period of training. Furthermore, having studied Sun Tzu's Art of War, he is able to use various tricks to deceive his opponents and use all manner of weapons. Joseph also has access to a Stand called "Hermit Purple." This ability allows him to manipulate his Stand like a whip or rope to bind enemies and sense them.

Jotaro Kujo is the protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3, "Stardust Crusaders." When he first appears, he is a high school student, distinctively wearing a school uniform. He has a calm and unfazed personality. However, when his friends are hurt, he will beat up the opponent. His catchphrase is "Oh dear," which he says after a fight.
