This series features cute characters having fun and relaxing camping, but despite the title being "Laid-Back Camp△," much of the camping knowledge and vehicles that appear in the series are aimed at experts, so even hardcore campers can enjoy it. While the series is enjoyable enough just watching Nadeshiko and Rin camping together, we'd like to help you learn more about the appeal of "Laid-Back Camp△" by taking a detailed look at the camping equipment and vehicles that are another facet of "Laid-Back Camp△." In "Laid-Back Camp△," all of the spots, equipment, and vehicles are meticulously replicated from reality, and we think this high level of reproduction is one of its defining features!! !
Yamaha Vino
This is the scooter used by the main character, Rin. Since it's the main character who uses it in the series, it's undoubtedly the vehicle that appears the most in the series.
Scooters Popular with Women
The Vino was released in 1997 as a scooter targeted at women. Thanks in part to the use of idols in its advertising, it quickly became a hit, gaining acceptance among a wide range of customers, including women. Even today, it continues to receive strong support from women, undergoing repeated model changes.
Recommended for Men Too!!
Perhaps due to the influence of "Laid-Back Camp△," the Vino has become increasingly seen as a bike aimed at women in recent years. However, the Vino's curvaceous appearance is popular with both men and women. It has a slightly retro, stylish image for men. It seems that many male riders started riding because of "Laid-Back Camp△."
When you think of "Laid-Back Camp△," this is it!
While "Yuru Camp△" features numerous cars and motorcycles, the Vino stands out among them with its overwhelming presence. The stylish Vino perfectly accentuates Rin's demure image, making it a truly perfect combination.
Triumph Thruxton R
This is the bike that Lin's grandfather loves. It's a sophisticated bike, as you'd expect from a cool and dapper man like Lin's.
Traditional Motorcycles
Triumph, the manufacturer of Grandpa's beloved Thruxton R, is a UK-based motorcycle manufacturer and the oldest still in existence. It's the perfect company for a motorcycle used by a dignified grandpa.
A huge difference from Rin's scooter!
As you'd expect, there's a huge difference in both price and specs between Rin's scooter and the Yamaha Vino. A new Yamaha Vino costs around ¥200,000, while a Thruxton R easily costs over ¥1.8 million. I was touring with Rin, and of course, I was pretty much limiting my speed.
Nissan Rasheen
This is the car driven by Sakura, the protagonist Nadeshiko's older sister. It makes an early appearance in the first episode, making it perhaps the second most well-known vehicle in the series after Rin's Vino.
When you think of a Rasheen, you think of this color! Doraemon Blue
The Nissan Rasheen, which debuted in 1997, has featured Doraemon as its image character since its release. The color, which is the same color as Doraemon, became popular and was nicknamed "Doraemon Blue." Unfortunately, the Sakura Rasheen doesn't appear to be "Doraemon Blue."
No longer in production
Unlike the Vino and Thruxton introduced so far, the Rasheen is no longer in production. The last production car was produced in 2000, so it's unlikely Sakura would have purchased a new car. Perhaps she bought one secondhand after getting her driver's license, or is using one purchased by her parents?
He'll play a major role in Season 2 as well
Rasheen played a key role in Season 1, following Rin's Vino. He continues to play a major role in Season 2, appearing when Sakura tracks down Nadeshiko, who is camping alone.
Honda Ape
This is the bike favored by Toki Ayano, who appears in the second season. As it's the favorite bike of a new character, it's also one of the most popular bikes featured in the series.
Widely Popular
Rin's beloved Vino tends to be more popular with women, but Ayano's beloved Ape is popular with a wide range of people, regardless of gender or age. Its high expandability is particularly appreciated.
100cc
The Honda Ape comes in 50cc and 100cc versions, but Ayano's Ape appears to be the 100cc. It's intimidating that a high school student can drive a 100cc Ape. I couldn't help but check it several times.
Unfortunately, this model has also been discontinued.
The Ape was a popular motorcycle embraced by a wide range of people, but production ended in 2017 due to stricter exhaust gas regulations. Unfortunately, it's become difficult to purchase a new one, but due to its popularity, there are many used models available, so if you're interested, you should check those out.
Montbell Doggy Dome
This is a dog tent that Ena bought for her beloved dog, Chikuwa.
High Quality!!
There's a scene in the anime where everyone is shocked by the price of the Doggy Dome, but there's no doubt it's worth the price. The mesh has been made thinner for dogs to prevent their claws from getting caught, making it a high-quality product with careful consideration for dogs.
In addition to dog tents, there's also a wide variety of camping gear!
While only dog tents were featured in the anime, Montbell offers a variety of other products, including bags specifically for dogs. If you'd like to enjoy a comfortable camping experience with your dog like Ena, why not check them out?
Coleman Lumiere Lantern
This is the lantern that Nadeshiko purchased in Season 2 after diligently saving up her part-time job earnings. In the original manga, Nadeshiko gazed upon this lantern countless times while waiting for her part-time job earnings to grow, so it's sure to leave a lasting impression on many viewers.
This gas lantern can create a candle-like effect!
The greatest feature of this lantern is that it can create a candle-like effect despite being a gas lantern. While gas lanterns are often thought of as powerful light sources, this lantern can create a fantastic, glowing candle-like light despite being a gas lantern.
Is it fragile?!
The only thing to be careful about is that it's quite fragile. Looking at the reviews, I often see comments saying, "Please handle it with care." It seems like it should last a long time if handled with care, but since it's Nadeshiko, I'm a little worried. Will it be okay?
It was clearly shown at the end of Season 1!!
While the first season might seem to only show Nadeshiko falling in love with the Lumiere Lantern at first sight, the final scene shows Nadeshiko much further along in the story, holding the Lumiere Lantern.
Compact Bonfire Grill
This is the bonfire grill Rin used. There are many products like this, so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly which one it is, but it's a unique item, so I thought I'd introduce it to you.
Recommended for Solo Camping
Because of its compact size, it's not big enough for a lively yakiniku party with friends, but it doesn't require much fuel and is easy to pack up, making it a camping tool specifically designed for solo camping.
Compact and easy to carry
The most distinctive feature of this product is its compact storage. In the story, it's referred to as an offering box, and its easy-to-disassemble offering box-like shape makes it easy for even the weak Rin to carry.
The scene where Rin stuffs her mouth with meat is a must-see!
Although Rin is usually quiet and unpredictable, she is portrayed as extremely wild when munching on the meat she grills using this grill, munching on the moderately fatty meat one after another. This scene is particularly well-drawn among Rin's meal scenes, so be sure to check it out.
