The anime adaptation of the light novel "I Was Reborn as a Vending Machine, So I Wandered the Labyrinth," currently serialized on "Let's Become a Novelist," will air in July. Like many Narou stories, it centers around reincarnation, but in this work, the protagonist is reincarnated as a vending machine. The novel's unique premise of being neither human nor animal, but a machine, has generated much excitement. Are you curious about the people involved in the production of this work? Today, we'd like to introduce you to the production staff and voice cast!

Synopsis

The protagonist is "I," a vending machine enthusiast. "I" was involved in a traffic accident and was crushed to death under a falling vending machine while trying to save it. When he woke up, he found himself reincarnated as a vending machine for some reason, unable to move and only able to speak a limited number of pre-recorded words. While spending time alone with no one around, he meets a girl named Ramis who is extremely strong and recognizes him as a magical tool with a will of his own. "I" was taken to a village inside the labyrinth, where he was given the name Hakkon and began working as a vending machine selling food and drinks from Earth to the residents of the other world. Hakkon's mysterious life in another world begins.

Director: Noriaki Akitaya

This work is directed by Noriaki Akitaya. After gaining experience primarily in cinematography at studios and production companies, he transitioned to directing. He has worked on Sunrise productions, including those directed by Goro Taniguchi. His first directing role was the "Bakuman" series. He also directed many episodes of "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2," and appears in the audio commentary for the film's Blu-ray and DVD.

Series Composition: Tatsuya Takahashi

Illustrator

Takahashi Tatsuya is in charge of series composition. He originally worked in game development at a game company and now focuses on anime scriptwriting. His real name is Tatsuya Takahashi. The kanji for "taka" (高) is originally written as "hashigo-daka" (はしごだか), but due to frequent mispronunciations, the current spelling has been adopted. The kanji for "ryu" (竜) is also originally written in its older form, but due to its difficulty, it has been consistently written as "竜." He began working as a screenwriter in earnest around 2008, building his career not only in anime but also in live-action films and comic book adaptations. "The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls" marked his first time as series composition director.

Jun Fukushima (Hakkon)

Jun Fukushima

Jun Fukushima voices the protagonist, Hakkon. If you're an anime fan, you've likely heard of him. He's played major roles in numerous well-known works, including the protagonist Lelouch in the "Code Geass" series and the familiar Roy in the "Super Smash Bros." series. He's also well-known for his roles as Korosensei in "Assassination Classroom" and Ichimatsu Matsuno in "Mr. Osomatsu." The characters you answer to the question, "When you think of Jun Fukushima?" may reveal a person's generation.

Kaede Hondo (Rammis)

Kaede Hondo

Kaede Hondo plays the heroine, Rammis. Originally, she aspired to work in the entertainment industry, such as as a model or actress. In high school, she joined the drama club, but her appearance prevented her from performing a wide range of roles. Later, a classmate suggested she pursue a career in voice acting, and she decided to pursue it. While in college, she passed a voice acting audition and officially debuted as a voice actress. She got off to a good start, playing a major character in her first year, and has since appeared in various productions. Incidentally, the character Hondo voiced that left the biggest impression on me was Elaina from "Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina."
