"I Want to Become the Strongest in the Shadows!" is a popular light novel series based on the Narou genre, with a total circulation of over 4 million copies. The first season of the anime aired last year, consisting of 20 episodes, and the second season is already scheduled to air in October of this year, creating a buzz. The second season is set primarily in a place called "Lawless City," and new characters will be introduced. This time, we'd like to introduce the new characters appearing in Season 2!
Synopsis
A boy chosen as the "strongest in the shadows" is reincarnated into another world as Shido Kagenou. Cid, eager to play the role of a secret powerhouse, establishes "Shadow Garden" with his subordinates. The setting for this story is "Lawless City," ruled by three factions. It's a dog-eat-dog world where outlaws are rampant. Cid and his friends begin their own actions in the lawless city to defeat the "Blood Queen," and Cid himself begins working in the shadows as a Shadow.
"Fox Demon" Yukime
The ruler of the White Tower in the lawless city, Yukime is a nine-tailed fox demon. She dresses like a courtesan, wearing a revealing kimono and geta sandals, and wields an iron fan as her weapon. While he controls the town in the lawless city, he also runs his own trading company outside the city. In the past, Gettan, who was overly power-hungry, slashed his back, and he harbors a burning desire for revenge against Gettan. He runs his trading company not for profit, but as part of his revenge. Incidentally, he was fatally wounded when his back was slashed, but he survived thanks to Shadow, disguised as a thief, attacking Gettan and treating Yukime. Yukime heard Shadow's voice while in a daze, and assumed he had not seen him directly, hearing it as an auditory hallucination. Shadow himself also had no recollection of the incident.
Revenge, but...
He later cornered Gettan, but was killed instead for holding back. Shadow ultimately achieved his revenge by defeating Gettan in his place, but he learns of the existence of the Diabolos Cult, which had in fact tempted Gettan in his quest for power. He later formed a cooperative relationship with Shadow Garden (an organization founded by Shadow). It was only then that he finally realized that Shadow was the person who had helped him in the past.
Juggernaut: The Tyrant
He is the ruler of the Black Tower in the lawless city. He has a keen sense and excels in his own style of sword fighting. As his nickname "Tyrant" suggests, he is a dynamic and highly skilled warrior, and he seeks to overcome everything through force. During the conflict between the Mitsugoshi Company and the Great Commerce Alliance, Delta targeted her at the behest of Shadow, who was trying to stall for time. Unbeknownst to her, her life was in danger. However, fortunately, she was not present at the Black Tower at the time, and thus escaped death.
Elizabeth, the "Blood Queen"
She is the progenitor of the Red Tower vampires. Since the official website has not yet released her visual, we have included a simplified image. Once, she went berserk due to Crimson's plot, causing devastating damage. She subsequently stabbed herself in the heart in an attempt to stop it, but failed and fell into a state of suspended animation. Later, Crimson steals the coffin and goes berserk again, awakening her by sacrificing humans. As the battle intensifies, Shadow appears and confronts her, delivering the final blow, bringing her bloodlust to a halt. Afterward, she sets out on a journey with Mary to find a "place of rest."
"The Oldest Vampire Hunter" Mary
Known as the oldest vampire hunter, Mary came to the lawless city to defeat Elizabeth. She has extensive knowledge of vampires and maintains a cool head in battle. She has formed a cooperative relationship with Cid's older sister, Claire.
Crimson
A vampire from the Red Tower. He is the mastermind behind the Red Moon incident, which can be considered the main theme of the second season. He harbors an extraordinary grudge against the persecution of his comrades, and 1,000 years ago, he drove Elizabeth into a rampage. With the arrival of the Red Moon as a catalyst, he secretly plots to revive Elizabeth. He possesses extraordinary healing abilities worthy of a high-ranking vampire, but after receiving a slash from Shadow that was so severe it was impossible for him to keep up with his healing, his heart was pierced and he died, turning to ash.
