They are Kurapika's enemies and their main activity is stealing. They are not above killing anyone who gets in the way of their thefts. We will introduce the members of the Phantom Troupe, a group of top bounty hunters. The Phantom Troupe are full of unique personalities and have a variety of abilities that cannot be measured by simple strength.

What is the Phantom Troupe?

Members of the Phantom Troupe are symbolized by spider tattoos on their bodies, each of which is assigned a number. Because they massacred Kurapika's comrades, Kurapika is pursuing the Troupe to avenge his comrades. He has great fighting ability, and can easily kill average Hunters. However, he is sensitive to the death of his comrades, and the members of the Phantom Troupe were very sad when Uvogin died. He seems to have strong feelings for his comrades.

This article introduces the Phantom Troupe members, including those who have passed away. Even though they're called the Phantom Troupe, not all members excel in combat. They have support abilities suited to thieving, abilities specialized for combat, and roles. This may be one of the Phantom Troupe's charms.

Phantom Troupe Leader: Chrollo Lucilfer

Source: HUNTER×HUNTER ©POT (Yoshihiro Togashi) VAP, Nippon Television, Shueisha, Madhouse

His ability is Skill Hunter, a special-purpose thief's secret technique that allows him to steal opponents' abilities under certain conditions. He is the charismatic leader of the Phantom Troupe, with Chrollo issuing orders and leading the members. In combat, he is strong enough to fight on equal terms with Zeno and Silva, and even defeat Hisoka. There is no doubt that his leadership and fighting abilities are far superior to the rest.

Phantom Troupe: Hisoka

His abilities are Bungee Gum (Stretchable Love) and Flat-Laying Lies (Funny Texture). Technically, he's not a member of the Phantom Troupe; he got a tattoo with flimsy lies in order to get close to Chrollo in order to fight him. His chance to fight Chrollo finally comes, but he loses and his heart stops. However, the tenacious Hisoka casts a spell on his stopped heart and returns from death. After returning to life, it seems he has realized something during his fight with Chrollo, as he begins hunting down the Phantom Troupe. His fighting ability is evident as he kills Kortopi and Shalnark in an instant, and the fact that he kills members of the Troupe who were once his allies suggests that he is only interested in fighting.

His ability is the ability to perfectly copy God's Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand (Gallery Fake). The effect lasts for 24 hours, and the copy has a circle effect, revealing its location, demonstrating the power of this ability.

The ability itself is rare, and while it's the strongest support ability, it's not suited to combat, so he's killed instantly by Hisoka. I wondered if he might have been a copy, but for now it seems likely that he was killed.

Phantom Troupe: Shalnark

His Black Voice ability allows him to control the destinies of others when he stabs them, and greatly increases his combat power when he stabs himself. He is considered the most wise and knowledgeable member of the Troupe, second only to Chrollo. In the battle with Hisoka, he may have been easily killed because he had lent his antenna to Chrollo. I don't think Shalnark's fighting ability was low, so it was probably just bad timing. That said, even if he had the antenna, he doesn't feel like he can win against Hisoka, so although he fights hard, the future may not change.

Phantom Troupe: Pakunoda

His ability is a memory bomb, which allows him to read memories with just a touch, and by loading memories into a bullet and firing it, he can share information. Lies don't work in front of Pakunoda, and because his information is reliable, there's no need for torture, and when it comes to obtaining information, no one can match him. Despite this, Pakunoda was prepared to die in order to share Kurapika's information with everyone, and shot memory bullets into the members of the group. Although Pakunoda died, he succeeded in sharing Kurapika's information.

Phantom Troupe: Shizuku

Using her vacuum cleaner-like ability, Deme-chan, she can suck up everything except living things and Nen abilities. She was able to suck up Uvogin's leech venom, and she was able to suck up all the corpses at the auction house, making it a very useful ability. Shizuku has the characteristic of never remembering things once she has forgotten them, and I thought that perhaps this is a vow. With such a powerful ability, it wouldn't be strange if there was some kind of vow. Her abilities don't lend themselves to combat, so she could be considered a support member.

Phantom Troupe: Uvogin

His ability, the Super Destructive Fist (Big Bang Impact), is similar to Gon's. It's a simple yet powerful right straight punch, in which he charges his fist with aura and unleashes it with full force. Gon, who is respected by those around him despite not being as powerful as Uvogin, shows us just how incredible his power is. He was restrained and tortured to death by Kurapika, but it would have been difficult for anyone other than Kurapika to win. His simple fighting power is among the best in the Phantom Troupe.

His ability is called Kaiten (Ripper Cyclone), and the more he rotates his arms, the more powerful his attacks become. It was revealed in the fight with the Chimera Ants that its power is not just like Gon's with Nen infused into it, but is on par with Uvogin's. Depending on how many times it's used, it may even be able to inflict damage on Meruem.

My ability is that both of my hands are machine guns (double machine guns), transforming my fingertips into muzzles and loading them with bullets created with Nen. I used this ability to kill almost all the contestants at the auction, so it's clear that it's quite powerful.

Phantom Troupe: Bonolenov

Battle Music (Bat-le-Cantarpire) is a song played in sync with the body's movements, which is then embodied as a Nen ability. So far, the two he's performed are Overture, a piece of music that arms the opponent, and Jupiter, a powerful piece that involves throwing a sphere shaped like Jupiter at the opponent. What would happen if he failed to perform it? There are still many mysteries surrounding this ability.

Phantom Troupe Machi

Her ability, which allows her to sew even nerves with Nen-infused thread, is clearly extraordinary, as she was able to heal Hisoka's wound in just a few seconds. After Chrollo was defeated, Hisoka said he would kill the Troupe, but he didn't kill Machi. Do he have some special feelings for her?

Phantom Troupe Feitan

His ability is called Pain Packer, a counter technique that amplifies damage received by himself and attacks the opponent instead. There are several types of Pain Packers, but the technique used in the Chimera Ant arc was called Rising Sun, which created the sun and burned the enemy to ashes, defeating them.

Phantom Troupe: Kalluto Zoldyck

Source: HUNTER×HUNTER ©POT (Yoshihiro Togashi) VAP, Nippon Television, Shueisha, Madhouse

Kalluto joined the Phantom Troupe because he wanted to get his brother back, but his true motivations remain a mystery. Silva told him not to get close to the Troupe, so it's possible that this was Kalluto's own decision or the support of someone like Illumi. It's highly likely that the brother he wants back is Killua or Alluka, but it's unclear how he'll be connected to the Phantom Troupe.

Phantom Troupe: Nobunaga

Source: HUNTER×HUNTER ©POT (Yoshihiro Togashi) VAP, Nippon Television, Shueisha, Madhouse

Don't underestimate Nobunaga's circle, which is only four meters wide. Nobunaga is a master of Iaijutsu, so within that range is a lethal attack. If he were to enter that range, his head would likely be severed from his torso. As he is in charge of combat in the Phantom Troupe, he has not yet shown his abilities, but his strength is virtually guaranteed.

Phantom Troupe Member Summary

Looking at the Phantom Troupe members, we can clearly see that they are a well-organized organization, with a clear division between combat and support members. What will happen to the Phantom Troupe, who are being targeted by Kurapika and Hisoka? The Phantom Troupe is expected to appear in the Dark Continent arc, so I'm looking forward to seeing how things turn out.
