After putting the person's blood, which is proof of eligibility to inherit the throne, into the jar, all the prince needs to do is pray to his or her desire to ascend to the throne and place it into the jar's mouth. By performing the ritual of the egg in the jar, each prince will be given a Nen beast called a guardian spirit beast.
What is a Guardian Spirit Beast?
Royal members participating in the battle for the throne acquire a guardian spirit beast by performing the ritual of the egg in a jar. This guardian spirit beast is a parasitic Nen, and its form and abilities are influenced by the individual's personality and way of thinking. However, the guardian spirit beast's appearance is invisible to the individual; only Nen users can see it. Spirit beasts do not kill each other. Furthermore, they are unable to directly attack the person possessed by the guardian spirit beast.
Prince Participating in the Battle for the Throne
There are a total of 14 princes participating in the battle for the throne. They range in age and gender, from elderly people to women and babies. In the Kakin Kingdom, even women are referred to as princes. Furthermore, several princes share the same mother and are brothers or twins. The first prince ranks first, with lower-ranking princes having less authority.
First Prince: Benjamin
Benjamin, the first prince, is a man characterized by his spiky hair and well-built physique. He is extremely proud and confident, and has declared that anyone who tries to become prince instead of him deserves the death penalty. His mother is Umma, and his younger brother is the fourth prince, Tserriednich. Benjamin also serves as the deputy chief military advisor, allowing him to command the military.

Camilla is also a Nen user, using the Nen ability known as Neko no Namae (The Cat That Lived a Million Times). This Nen ability is activated after death, and upon death, a large black cat appears, killing the opponent and then emitting a liquid from its tail, reviving Camilla.

The exact nature of Camilla's guardian spirit beast is unclear, but it resembles a plant-like creature with countless breasts or berries of some kind. Its abilities are unknown, but it appears to kill with poison or other abilities rather than power.
The Third Prince: Chourai
Chourai, the third prince, is an older man with a shaved head. Knowing nothing about Nen, he seeks to learn about it through contact with Kurapika. He has a relatively gentle, wise, and calm personality. His mother is a woman named Tochourei.

Chourai's guardian spirit beast is like a large shield. As of February 2018, we know he can spit coins from his mouth, but his specific abilities are unknown.
Fourth Prince: Tserriednich
Tserriednich, the fourth prince, is a long-haired man in his 30s. He has a cruel and ruthless personality, having massacred several women. He is also a human body collector, and thus possesses several of the Kurta's scarlet eyes. His mother is Umma, and his older brother is the first prince, Benjamin.
Tserriednich's Nen Ability
Tserriednich was unaware of Nen, but he began to learn it during the battle for the throne and acquired it with incredible speed. He is a Nen genius, and some say he is someone who should not learn it. So far, he has only mastered the basics of Nen.

Tserriednich's guardian spirit beast has a horse-like body and a ferocious, human-like face. Its wide-open mouth, threatening behavior, and other ferocious displays suggest it possesses extremely terrifying abilities.
The Fifth Prince, Tsubeba
Tsubeba, the fifth prince, is a man with a bob haircut. His mother is Duazul, and his siblings are the second prince, Camilla, the seventh prince, Luzurus, and the ninth prince, Halkenburg. Tsubeba is intelligent, logical, and friendly towards Kurapika, but he also has a feminine side.

The Sixth Prince: Tyson

His mother is Duazul, and his siblings are the second prince, Camilla, the fifth prince, Tsubeppa, and the ninth prince, Halkenburg. His personality is largely unknown, as his details have not been fully described.

The Ninth Prince: Halkenburg
Halkenburg is a man in his 30s with a large nose. He excels in academics and is a man of great character. However, Halkenburg doesn't seem particularly interested in the battle for the throne, and recognizes Zelretch as a prince. In the story, he informs his father, Nasubi, that he will be withdrawing from the battle for the throne.
