"Haikyu!!" is a hugely popular volleyball manga currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. The intense competition between the unique volleyball boys has attracted many young female fans. In this article, we've selected and ranked the most moving matches from the fascinating "Haikyu!!" series! We'll also introduce highlights, so if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out.
Most Emotional Match #1! Karasuno vs. Aoba Johsai (Spring High Qualifiers)
Karasuno and Aoba Johsai are rivals! For Karasuno, Aoba Johsai, captained by Kageyama's senior and greatest rival, Oikawa Toru, is an enemy they must defeat. They faced each other in the semi-finals of the Inter-High preliminaries, but Karasuno was defeated and vowed revenge.
Then, in the semi-finals of the Spring High preliminaries, they faced off against Aoba Johsai once again in a fateful battle. During their Tokyo training camp leading up to the Spring High preliminaries, Karasuno perfected Hinata and Kageyama's "weird quick attack" and strengthened Azumane's serve, resulting in individual players becoming more powerful and evolving. Naturally, when Karasuno goes all out against Aoba Johsai, the match is one you won't be able to take your eyes off of! If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch it in Season 2 of the anime, so be sure to check it out.
Highlight 1: Keep an eye out for Kyoya Kentaro, aka Mad Dog!
The biggest difference between Aoba Johsai and the Inter-High Preliminaries is the addition of Kyotani Kentaro, also known as "Mad Dog." He was originally a member of the club, but he got into a fight with a senior soon after joining and stopped attending club activities, instead practicing elsewhere.
Kyoutani has great athletic ability, but he also has many flaws, such as intercepting tosses from other players and colliding with them, or missing his spikes. However, once he gets going, he unleashes unstoppable, powerful spikes. Kyotani's past is introduced, and his emotional changes during the game are clearly visible, putting a lot of focus on him.
Highlight 2: The Final Desperate Rally
In the final set, where the winner would be the one to win, both teams competed at deuce, not giving an inch. Everyone was determined to win, and they desperately clung to the ball. There were many moments when viewers thought, "The ball's going to fall!", but Tanaka and Kyoya made one fine play after another, and Sugawara didn't let the ball fall, even receiving it in the face.
Oikawa ran into the bench and tossed the ball to ace pitcher Iwaizumi, but it was also picked up by Sawamura. After both players have given it their all, Kageyama tosses the ball to Hinata and he spikes it, but Oikawa is there, as if he has read where Hinata will hit it... However, the ball slightly hits the block, changes trajectory, is deflected by Oikawa's arm, and flies out of the court.
An emotional match - 2nd place! Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa
The third season of the anime aired a full 10 episodes, and the following is a list of the characters: Highlight 1: Tsukishima's volleyball obsession
Tsukishima struggled with Ushiwaka's spikes, not even being able to block them once. However, he narrowed the path of the spikes with his blocks, forcing them to land in Nishinoya's hands, causing him stress. And finally, the moment setter Shirafu's toss was messed up, Tsukishima knocked down Ushiwaka's spike with a kill block! Tsukishima thought to himself, "It's just one block, it's just one point out of 25, it's just club activity..." but then he remembered Bokuto's words, "When that moment comes, that'll be the moment you'll get hooked on volleyball." Immediately after that, Tsukishima pumped his fist in excitement and let out a roar for the first time! And his Karasuno teammates trembled and jumped for joy. In the deciding fifth set, Karasuno was one point away from defeat. Their key blocking player, Tsukishima, had been forced to leave the game due to injury, and all six Karasuno players on the court were exhausted, looking down and panting. Coach Ukai then rose from the bench and loudly shouted, "Don't look down!!!!! Volleyball is a sport where you always look up!" Hearing this, Sawamura smiled slightly, and Tsukishima, who had been in the infirmary, returned. Former Karasuno coach Ikkei Ukai and Nekoma coach Yasufumi Nekomata have been rivals since middle school. Because of this relationship, they have played practice matches many times since childhood, and the battle between Karasuno and Nekoma has come to be known as the "Garbage Dump Showdown." However, during Coach Ukai's playing days, the "Garbage Dump Showdown" never took place in an official match. But now, with the team coached by Coach Ukai's grandson, Ukai Keishin, the day has finally come for their long-awaited showdown at the national tournament! Having played numerous practice matches, Karasuno and Nekoma have a special bond with each other. It's likely that a showdown between these two schools will air in Season 4 of the anime. Kenma continues playing volleyball because his childhood friend Kuroo plays. However, he's always interested in new and interesting players, like Hinata! Kuroo says that when Kenma plays against Hinata, he looks excited, as if he's about to play a video game he just bought... Kenma, who hates sweating and getting tired, becomes so absorbed in the game against Karasuno that even when he's exhausted, he still says, "This is fun!" and yells at his teammates to "keep chasing the ball!" And at the end of the match, he says to Kuroo, "Thank you for teaching me volleyball," which is very memorable! Despite his low energy, keep an eye on Kenma's sparkle! Karasuno and Nekoma played practice matches in the first season of the anime, and held training camps together during Golden Week and summer vacation. Because they've spent so much time practicing together, they've developed special feelings for each other, like Hinata and Kenma, and Tsukishima and Kuroo. Seeing them acknowledge their opponents and enjoy each other's company at key moments in the match will warm your heart and make you feel the spirit of youth! We've selected some of the most moving matches from the many Haikyu!! matches. What do you think?
