The story is about how he will one day be freed from the curse of the goblins and become an adventurer. In this article, we will introduce the Lizard Priest, who forms a party with Goblin Slayer.

The Lizard Priest is a rare Lizardman priest. He is a Silver-rank adventurer. He is a religious person, and in his religion, killing heretics apparently allows one to rise in rank and become a dragon. However, he is currently a Lizard Priest who is a Dragon Priest. He is a devout religious man, and his religion places great reverence on ancestors, as can be sensed from his conversations. Furthermore, the story does not explain whether dragons are actually said to be created from their appearance, or whether the concept of dragon is a hierarchical one and is synonymous with what we know as heroes. Incidentally, legendary creatures called dragons are said to be depicted in the shape of snakes or lizards.

One day, the Lizard Priest arrived in Goblin Slayer's town with a high elf and a dwarf. The reason he came was because a high elf heard a poem sung in another town that sang about Goblin Slayer as a hero. The Lizard Priest approached Goblin Slayer with a request. Goblin Slayer agreed to the request, and the two formed a party. Incidentally, of the three people who approached Goblin Slayer with a request, the Lizard Priest is the only one who is mortal.

The Lizard Priest can create Dragon Fang Soldiers using a catalyst. They can be used in battles or to carry goods. Separately, they can create Dragon Soldier Swords through miracles. Healing can also be used. The Lizard Monk is surprisingly capable. When creating the Dragon Fang Soldier, the Lizard Monk chants "The key wings of Ling Tao Long," and Ling Tao Long refers to the small dinosaur Velociraptor. This dinosaur also became famous after appearing in the movie Jurassic Park. Fossils have only been found in China, Mongolia, and Russia, and Ling Tao Long itself is a Chinese name, so the Lizard Monk may be a character created with China as the motif.

The Lizard Priest first teamed up with Goblin Slayer and his friends. When he bit into the cheese Goblin Slayer served him, the Lizard Priest screamed "Nectar"! he shouted. The Lizard Priest had no idea about cheese. For the Lizardman race, livestock are not something to raise, but something to hunt. It is certainly strange to say that a lizard would graze cows. After that, the Lizard Priest frequently asked for cheese. Seeing this, the High Elf seemed happy that he had found a good way to relax, as he has an overly serious personality. Incidentally, the word nectar also has its origins in China. In an old Chinese legend, it refers to a sweet soup that was said to have fallen from the heavens during the reign of the Emperor who ruled with benevolence, and now it is said to refer to something sweet and delicious.

The Lizard Priest is both a priest of the Lizardmen and a man of common sense. When conflict breaks out between dwarves and high elves, it's the Lizard Priest who mediates and apologizes. The Lizard Priest also helps ensure the conversation goes smoothly. He is also the one who knows the word "goblin." Judging from the way he speaks, it was probably the Lizard Priest who made the request to Goblin Slayer and decided on Goblin Slayer's fee. Both the Dwarf and High Elf are significantly older than him, but when he was working with the two of them, he acted as the coordinator. In such a situation, it was probably a blessing to have a sensible priestess with him when he formed a party with Goblin Slayer.

In the Lizard Priest religion, it is said that by killing heretics, one can eventually become a dragon. Then, when summoning a small dinosaur named Lin Taolong as a catalyst, and during a group battle with some goblins, he shouts, "Terrifying dragon! Behold the fighting prowess of its descendants!" So perhaps the ancestors of the Lizard Priests, who often say they cannot face their ancestors, are dragons, and by dragons they are referring to dinosaurs rather than the so-called legendary dragons? In other words, whether it's legend or fact that Lizardmen are descendants of some kind of dinosaur, if they achieve many great feats, then surely they could be called dragons as a title. We haven't seen any stories about the Lizardmen's past or detailed religion yet, but I hope that will come up at some point.

A competent lizard priest with good sense and common sense, capable of close-range combat and summoning small dinosaurs. Is his cry of "nectar!" something other than cheese? Also, considering that the Lizardman race has barely appeared in the series, it might be nice to see an adventure to his homeland. Goblin Slayer is becoming more and more captivating in the future. I'm looking forward to it!
