Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma has produced many memorable scenes over the past three seasons. Of course, many more are planned for the fourth season. So, this time, we're taking a sneak peek at the best scenes from the original manga that will likely appear in the fourth season, ranked! From memorable scenes during the food wars to memorable scenes after the wars, and even memorable scenes during training, we've selected and ranked the best scenes from every scene!

Tenth Place: How Did It Happen?! Isshiki in Only a Loincloth

Isshiki in Only a Loincloth

The scene we chose as tenth place is the scene after the fight between Tsukasa and Isshiki... Speaking of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, there are scenes where people's clothes come off after eating delicious food, and for some reason Isshiki really does end up in just a loincloth (lol). Isshiki has appeared on many occasions up until now as the "naked person", but this time he strikes a cool pose despite only being in a loincloth, and even leaves behind the famous line, "Even if I'm stripped down to just my loincloth, I'll never give up on enjoying cooking!"

Ninth Place: Azami Defeated by Her Own Blessing

Azami Blown Away by a Blessing

For ninth place, we chose the scene where Azami's clothes fly off during the Shokugeki judging! Isshiki isn't the only one to "take off her clothes" in Season 4! With Azami's ability, "Osatsuke," whenever she eats food and finds it delicious, the clothes of those around her, regardless of gender, fly away... This scene is from the final bout, when Azami eats Erina's food, but is unable to control the Osatsuke and her own clothes end up flying off. That face, that pose, and those briefs. It's a depiction that makes you laugh, even though the story has been serious up to this point, and I can't wait to see how it turns out in the anime.

Eighth Place: Two people arguing over rock-paper-scissors until the very end

The two of them playing rock-paper-scissors until the very end

Eighth place goes to the scene where they decide who will play the appetizer or the main course, which was so typical of them until the very end! The Rentai Shokugeki reaches its climax and the final bout is finally here. You'd think even these two would be nervous when they arrive, but... even when they arrive, they still haven't decided who will play the main course, and they played rock-paper-scissors until the very end. It's a scene that's typical of them, who won't be satisfied unless they're number one, and from a reader's perspective, it wouldn't be strange for either of them to play the main course, so it's a surprisingly powerful scene (lol).

Seventh place: Did they get the anime wrong?! Something's a Little Off About Megumi

Megumi's Art Style is Weird

Our seventh pick is not brainwashing... but a scene where Megumi, having overcome rigorous training, breaks down! Before her match with Momo, Megumi learns cooking skills from Shinomiya, a person who has also caused her trauma. However, during this process, Megumi and Shinomiya are depicted in a shoujo manga-like style, and there are plenty of surreal gags, such as Megumi punching her opponent in the face with her apple glove. As you can see from this image, her eyes are clearly different from her usual gentle self.

Speaking of this master-student duo, there's also a famous quote muttered to Shinomiya in his mind.

Shinomiya Evaluates Megumi

Although Shinomiya has been a source of trauma for Megumi, they become the perfect master-student duo as they train for the Rentai Shokugeki. At the beginning of the story, Megumi seems like a failure, but as Shinomiya observes her cooking, his opinion of her changes, and she eventually matures to the point where Shinomiya even thinks, "But she's definitely not stupid." The sight of Shinomiya watching Megumi cook with his arms folded makes this the perfect master-student duo.

Sixth Place: Rindou Throwing a Tantrum and Demanding a Draw

Rindo Demanding a Draw

Our sixth place pick is the scene in the second bout where Rindou demands to draw the lottery! The only thing that matters is deciding on the theme ingredient, so it doesn't really matter who draws, but Rindou insists on drawing the lottery with such force that Saito is taken aback. What makes this scene so great is... Rindou is just so adorable! The scene where she comes forward and says, "I want to draw!", as well as the scene where she eagerly and happily draws the lottery ticket, are all very Ryujin-like (and childlike), making for a great scene.

Fifth Place: The Scene Where Saito Lends His Knife to Ensure an Even Match

Saito Lends His Knife to Mimasaka

Fifth place goes to the scene in the second bout, where Saito lends his knife to Mimasaka. Mimasaka perfectly traces Saito's cooking using the Perfect Trace Flash he developed during this Shokugeki. While this would be considered creepy by any normal opponent, Saito highly praises Mimasaka's talent. Furthermore, Saito, who is adamant about "fighting on equal terms," lends Mimasaka his knife, "Isanagiri," which does not chip. This surprises not only the audience but also Mimasaka, but it is a scene that is typical of Saito, who is fair and respects bushido.

Fourth Place: Erina, with a confident smile, adapts Soma's catchphrase

Erina adapts Soma's catchphrase

For fourth place, I chose this line Erina said after the original Force Bout! Personally, I would have chosen this as first place, but since I chose that scene as first place, it's fourth place. The judges are still eating Erina's food, and the commentators haven't announced the winner yet, but Erina turns away and says, "Thank you for your hard work," with a confident smile. This level of composure even against Momo, the Third Seat of the Top Ten. It was a truly Erina-like scene.

Third Place: The Strongest Combination of the First and Second Seats of the Top Ten!

Rindo & Tsukasa Combo

Third place goes to the combination of Rindo and Tsukasa, as seen in the final bout! Tsukasa is calm and collected, while Rindo is full of emotion, full of energy, and full of emotions. At first glance, they don't seem like a great match, but once the cooking begins, they cover for each other with blinding speed and skill. This is a skill only two people who've been together since middle school can pull off. Tsukasa trusts Rindou completely and leaves the cooking to him, while Rindou always responds 100%. This pairing is one of the most memorable in the series.

Their duo is still going strong even after graduation!

The Two Fishing

This episode takes place four months after the end of the Rentai Shokugeki, after the third-years have graduated. While Saito, Megijima, and Momo have each opened their own restaurants after graduation, Rindou and Tsukasa are depicted fishing together in what appears to be a foreign country. It's likely that Rindou invited them to join them, but they seem like a perfect match (lol). This scene may even appear in the anime's final episode, so I'm secretly keeping an eye out for it.

Second Place: The Scene Where Erina's Feelings Reach Megumi

Megumi Realizes Erina's Feelings

My second choice is the scene where Megumi realizes the meaning of the dish Erina made during the Fourth Bout. In the previous Third Bout, Megumi made "dorayaki" (a type of pancake) and was defeated by Momo. Erina used that as inspiration to create this dish. This French-style dorayaki is a fluffy soufflé cake sandwiched with brown sugar bean paste. The name of the dish is "Soufflé Léger de Glace," which translates to "Light Soufflé Blessing." The scene where Megumi realizes that the character "megumi" (blessing) in the dish's name is a truly memorable one, as if to clear her mind.

First Place: This line at the end of everything!

The Last Scene of the Solidarity Food Wars

Our top pick is, of course, the unmissable final scene of the Solidarity Food Wars! The line "How poor!" that has become synonymous with Soma after a Shokugeki is spoken by Erina, not Soma. Personally, I think this scene will be saved for the final episode of the fourth season, as it was such a great scene that it was the perfect ending. One thing that bothers me is that Isshiki is wearing only a loincloth as if it were the most natural thing in the world... but with that in mind, it's a scene that I'm looking forward to seeing how it's portrayed in the anime at the end.

"Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: Shin no Sara" Ranking of Famous Scenes

Official Art of Shin no Sara

So far, we've introduced some of the most memorable scenes from the original manga that will likely appear in the fourth season of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma. What did you think? Personally, I would have liked to have ranked Rindou higher...but that's how adorable he is in the fourth season (lol). Of course, there are plenty of other memorable scenes, and the rankings will likely vary depending on the viewer, but I think the number one spot remains undisputed. I encourage everyone to watch the anime and rank your favorite scenes!
