The fourth season of the anime is "Food Wars! Shokugeki no Sou: Shin no Sara." This season is planned to focus on the solidarity food battles, so it's going to be a food wars rush! It seems that a variety of delicious-looking dishes will appear every week. So today, we'll be introducing some of the delicious dishes from the original that will likely appear in the fourth season! There will be many dishes, including meat dishes, fish dishes, and sweets, but we'll be introducing the most delicious-looking dishes in a ranking format.

Tenth Place: Time-Limited, Cheeky Boy-Style Primitive Meat

Time-Limited, Cheeky Boy-Style Primitive Meat

Our tenth choice is this dish that Soma made as an appetizer in Final Bout! It's what we call "manga meat." It's a dish he's longed for since childhood, and the sauce base is made from commercially available yakiniku sauce, making it easy to imagine the flavor. Plus, the meat is generously filled with a thick consommé gelatin sauce injected with a culinary syringe. As you eat, the consommé broth melts and spills out from between the meat, transforming the flavor.

No. 9: African Ramen

African Ramen

Our ninth choice is the Mexican ramen that Megijima made in his second bout! It's a delicious-looking ramen, a little too spicy for late-night viewing. While it may look like regular ramen, the theme of this Shokugeki is chili peppers, and Megijima dumps a generous amount of harissa, a condiment originating in North Africa, into the ramen. The soup also uses ingredients inspired by African stews, which apparently enhances the spicy harissa.

Eighth Place: Pizza with Two Shining Moons

Pizza with Two Shining Moons

Our eighth place pick is a pizza featuring two different flavors created by Takumi in Third Bout! The featured ingredient is beef, and Takumi used simmered beef on one half of the pizza, but personally, it's the other half that I'm most interested in. First, we had a sweet shigureni pizza, followed by a crunchy cheese-based pizza made with four types of cheese. It was topped with a sprinkling of tangy black pepper. This alone was delicious, but the contrast with the sweet shigureni beef made it even more delicious.

Seventh Place: White Armor Plate ~Sauce Chevreuil~

White Armor Plate ~Sauce Chevreuil~

For fifth place, we chose Tsukasa's specialty dish from the Final Bout. This dish uses venison. It's a specialty made by the top ten... It could have been ranked higher, but since few people have tried venison and it's difficult to imagine what it tastes like, it's ranked this high. The formic acid and mushrooms in Ryujin's appetizer further enhance the dish's deliciousness, prompting Itami to describe it as such.

The dish looked delicious even before it was completed

Tsukasa serving dishes made in a salt oven

Tsukasa's specialty looks incredibly delicious even when it's finished and cut into pieces, but what really caught my attention while reading this was the salt oven itself! The "White Armor" in the menu's name refers to this salt-baked dish. The salt-baked dish locks in not only the juices and aroma of the venison, but also its delicious blood, creating a burst of flavor the moment you bite into it. Soma, who tried this dish, described it as far more delicious than any venison dish Tsukasa had ever made.

Sixth Place: Brown Sugar Roll Cake Castle

Brown Sugar Roll Cake Castle

Sixth place goes to Akanegakubo Momo's Brown Sugar Roll Cake Castle, created during Forcebout! While it's called a "roll cake," it's a masterpiece that clearly dwarfs even wedding cakes. The amazing thing about this cake is that everything is edible! Even the castle and ribbons are edible. Since the theme ingredient was "brown sugar," Momo used a unique seasoning called soy sauce cream. It has a salted caramel-like texture, and the saltiness enhances the sweetness, giving the cake a deeper flavor.

Fifth Place: The Exquisite Butter Seafood Bowl

The Exquisite Butter Seafood Bowl

Fifth place goes to the Exquisite Butter Seafood Bowl made by Saito in Third Bout! Incidentally, this dish lost out to Soma's "Yukihira-style Savory Butter Pilaf Inari Sushi," but readers overwhelmingly commented that this seafood bowl looked more delicious. The theme ingredient is butter, which may seem like an advantage for sushi chef Saito, but he perfectly controls the heat for grilling the salmon, using it to create a meunière. Squid liver is also stir-fried in butter. And the icing on the cake is the special vinegared rice made with orange and lemon juice! This is a clever way to prevent the butter from feeling too heavy.

Fourth Place: Queen's Apple Tart

Queen's Apple Tart

Fourth place goes to Akanegakubo Momo's Queen's Apple Tart, made during a third bout! The theme ingredient was apples, and she created an apple tart so exquisitely crafted it could be mistaken for a bouquet of roses. The dish's greatest feature is its aroma! Damask roses, known for their strong fragrance, were used during the cooking process, and the aroma alone was enough to transform even the most foul-mouthed commentator into a princess-like character. By the way, the basket containing the tarts is also made of bread, so you can eat the whole thing.

Third Place: Enchanting Beef Roast ~Etsuya・E・Edition~

Enchanting Beef Roast ~Etsuya・E・Edition~

Our third place pick is the Enchanting Beef Roast made by Eizan in Third Bout (etc.)! This dish is packed with artichokes to interfere with Takumi's cooking...but of course, that doesn't diminish the dish's flavor. The artichoke-based cream sauce perfectly covers the richness of the roast beef. Despite losing to Takumi in the third bout, my plan was futile, but my dish seemed to be a step ahead in terms of how delicious it looked.

Second Place: Leger de Glace Soufflé

Leger de Glace Soufflé

Second place went to Erina's pancakes made in the fourth bout! Using the idea of Megumi, who lost in the third bout just before, she created dorayaki (a type of pancake) out of soufflé. The star of the dish is the "Shinki Brown Sugar Strained Bean Paste" made with red beans and brown sugar! Just hearing the name already sounds delicious (lol). The soufflé also uses instant Greek yogurt, further enhancing the umami of the Shinki Brown Sugar Strained Bean Paste.

First Place: 10 Pieces of Tuna, Kodama Kogyoku Sushi

10 Pieces of Tuna, Kodama Kogyoku Sushi

The winner is the Kodama Kogyoku Sushi made by Saito during the second bout! These are ten small ball sushi pieces made with tuna, the theme ingredient... and you can tell just by looking at them that they're good (lol). These nigiri sushi pieces are made by Saito, known as the greatest sushi chef of his time. There's no way they won't be delicious. All ten types of sushi have been given a variety of treatments, including the hidden knife that determined the winner. The fact that they are small ball sushi rather than regular nigiri sushi is a bit unusual, and it's a dish that makes you imagine the texture it will have when you take a bite.

Another intriguing original sushi made by Mimasaka

Mimasaka's Gunkan

Saito's second Shokugeki opponent was Mimasaka from Perfect Trace. In addition to the same menu as Saito, Mimasaka added one original dish. That was this Gunkanmaki! Tuna nakaochi negitoro (simmered fatty tuna) with quail egg yolk and smoked soy sauce. Topped with green onions and meringue, it was dubbed the "Ultimate Negitoro Egg and Rice Gunkan." After this, the conversation shifted to the hidden knife, and its existence was somewhat forgotten, but this gunkanmaki is undoubtedly delicious.

Extra Edition: Yukihira's Savory Butter Pilaf Inari Sushi

Yukihira's Savory Butter Pilaf Inari Sushi

This dish was made by Soma in response to Saito's seafood bowl during the third bout. ...However, the visual impact was quite questionable, and it became a hot topic online (lol). According to Soma, this butter pilaf inari sushi was created by topping it with all the delicious ingredients necessary to maximize the flavor. However, the appearance of the inari sushi, topped with white sauce, made it difficult to imagine what it would taste like, so we decided to leave it out of the list.

Ranking of the Dishes Featured in Season 4

Soma's catchphrase

So far, we've introduced a number of delicious-looking dishes scheduled to appear in Season 4. What did you think? There are many more delicious dishes to come, including Kuga's sweet and sour pork, Megumi's dorayaki, and Erina's specialty, which didn't make it into the rankings. Be sure to watch Season 4 and rank them to your liking.
