<![CDATA[The Adventures of Dai, serialized in Jump as an original Dragon Quest series and still remembered to this day, has been unexpectedly re-animated! The things that are memorable about The Adventures of Dai are the numerous magic spells and special moves. This influence has spread to the original Dragon Quest, and from the 6th series onwards, special skills have been used, and some that are similar to the special skills that appeared in The Adventures of Dai have also appeared. So, I have compiled a list of the special moves and spells that left an impression on me!

Special move #1: Avan Strash (user: Avan Dai)

Avan Strash
The most famous and frequently used special move in The Adventures of Dai. Originally Avan's special move, it is the most powerful technique that masters the three - Earth Slash, Sea Wave Slash, and Sky Split Slash - and was passed down to Dai by Avan, so it also carries on the will of Avan, who died protecting Dai and his friends. It has been the deciding factor in many battles, and against strong opponents, derivative techniques of Avan Strash are often used to decide the outcome, making it a special move that can truly be said to be the signature move of Dai's Great Adventure.

Special move 2: Medroa (user: Pop Matrip)

Medroa
A special move that creates a destructive force that destroys everything by colliding the energy of the Mera and Hyada types in a balanced way. This special move was created by Matrip and passed on to Pop, and is probably the most famous magic used by Pop. Medroa, which has tremendous power and destroys everything, is a special move that is effective against all materials, but it is still a magic move and its weakness is Mahokanta, which reflects magic. It is also the special move that won first place in the technique popularity poll.

Special move 3: Beast King Critical Attack (Beast King Painful Attack) (User: Crocodine)

Beast King Critical Attack
Crocodine's special move, which concentrates his fighting spirit on his arm and unleashes it. If you get caught in the tornado-like vortex of fighting spirit, it's a special move that will not end for free, but as the story progresses, Crocodine's handling of it has become a template of "Guwaaaaaahhhh" and "Ku, Crocodine", so it is not a special move that was ultimately used effectively, but he later came up with a derivative move, Beast King Fierce Palm. Before he became Dai's companion, it was called Beast King Painful Attack, but after he became a companion, it was renamed Beast King Critical Attack. Critical hit and painful loss are familiar phrases in the Dragon Quest series.

Special move #4: Bloody Scryde (user: Hyunckel)

Bloody Scryde
Hunckel's signature special move, where he spins his weapon to pierce the enemy. He is waiting for an opportunity to take revenge while being taught the technique by Avan, the enemy who killed his foster parent, and when he unleashes it on Avan on his graduation day, he is counterattacked and defeated. However, Avan also believes that he would have been defeated if he had not counterattacked immediately. At first, he used the Armored Magic Sword, but after losing it, he uses the Armored Magic Spear inherited from Larhart.

Special Move 5: Finger Flare Bombs (User: Fraserd Pop)

Finger Flare Bombs
Freserd's special move. The move itself is a 5-shot Merazoma, in which each of his five fingers fires a Merazoma. Fraserd uses it in battle, and later Pop also uses it by imitating him. Although it is a powerful special move, it puts a great strain on the body, and is a technique unique to Fraser, who does not mind the strain on his body.

Special Move ⑥: Haken Distor (User: Larhalt)

Haken Distor
A special move by Larhalt, the strongest warrior of the Dragon Knights. With a large arcing slashing technique, he overwhelms Hyunckel, who rushes to Pop's aid. However, it is broken by the Grand Cross, which is activated in time with the second Haken Distor.

Special Move 7: Grand Cross (User: Hyunckel Him)

Grand Cross
A special move taught to Hyunckel by Avan, which transforms life energy into a cross shape and blows away enemies. It is a powerful move that was used when Hadlar cornered him on Barji Island, despite stopping him, and blew away many enemies along with him. It was later used as a deciding factor in the fight against Larhart, and at the end of the game, Him imitates Grand Cross and activates it in the heart of Burn Palace to escape. Not only does he make the most of the moment until the very end, but he also has a special move called Grand Cross in the main story of Dragon Quest.

Special Move #8 Giga Break (User: Baran)

Giga Break
A special move that represents the Dragon Knight Baran. He wraps his sword in Gigadein and slashes the opponent with that energy. Baran says that no one has been able to stand up to Giga Break, but he has not been able to kill Crocodine or Hadlar in one hit. Still, it is a move that deals tremendous damage, and the move has influenced his son Dai and been passed down. It has also been imported back into the main story of Dragon Quest.

Special Move 9: Senka Rekkouken (User: Maam Prokina)

Senka Rekkouken
A special move taught to Maam by the Fist Saint Prokina, who changed jobs from a priest warrior to a martial artist. It is a technique that puts a Hoimi-type recovery magic into the fist, regenerates it, and then destroys it, completely destroying living tissue. Even though it uses recovery magic, it is a very cruel technique, and even Prokina usually seals it. The reason why he taught such a terrifying technique to Maam is simply because Maam understands the horror of the technique better than anyone else. Later, a tomboyish princess from another world also uses a similar technique.

Special Move 10: Kaiser Phoenix (User: Great Demon King Burn)

Kaiser Phoenix
Great Demon King Burn's Merazoma, modeled after a phoenix. However, even a mere Mera is as powerful as Great Demon King Burn's Merazoma, so you can imagine how powerful it is. When he first fights Dai and the others, he shows them the difference in their ranks. The name of the move sounds like a special move in a fighting game, but there is actually a move called "Kaiser Phoenix". And the original source of that is probably this.

Special move 12: Tenchimadou no Kamae (user: Daimaou Burn)

Tenchimadou no Kamae
This is the final boss move used by the final form of Daimaou Burn, who received the original body from Mystvearn and activated his true power. It is the most vicious counter move that simultaneously attacks, defends, and uses magic, and is a move worthy of a final boss, as it defends against all of the opponent's attacks and also launches a super powerful counterattack. In fact, if there was a final boss that used such a crazy move, it would be crazy. You might think that since it's a counter move, you don't have to attack, but the Daimaou doesn't only use it. In the end, Popp overlooks its nature and breaks it.

【DRAGON QUEST: The Adventures of Dai】Compilation of Special Moves

Here is a compilation of the special moves that appear in The Adventures of Dai! This is a spin-off of Dragon Quest and was supervised by Yuji Horii, but it's amazing how many of the special moves have been carried over to the original Dragon Quest! I can't wait to see the impressive special moves in the anime!
