The Digimon Adventure series captured the hearts of children when the original Digimon Adventure aired in 1999! The heart-warming story of the bond and battles between protagonist Taichi Yagami and his Digimon partners continues to be loved by fans of all ages, even now, more than 20 years later, by fans of the original series. In this article, we've selected five touching scenes from Digimon Adventure:, which began airing in 2020. Please note that spoilers are included, so please be careful before reading on.
Touching Scene 1: Children's hearts unite for the first time! The final battle at the waterfront fortress!
Taichi and his friends, joined by Joe Kido and Gomamon, set out across the sea to reach a new continent. However, as they attempted to land, they found themselves trapped on all sides by a huge fortress containing Solaramon, an observer, Gorimon, a sniper, and Tankmon, all of whom were capable of firing artillery. Yamato Ishida dismisses Taichi and his friends as a hindrance and attempts to infiltrate the fortress with Gabumon. The "chosen children" are divided in their hearts: Taichi and Takenouchi Ten try to support Yamato in any way they can, Tachikawa Mimi and Joe are afraid of the battle and refuse to move, and Yamato doesn't see Taichi and the others as his allies. However, when Taichi sees Yamato fighting Gabumon, he offers to act as a decoy to support Yamato. Mimi and Joe are scared at first but gradually begin to smile, and seeing this, Yamato apologizes after the battle for treating them like a burden. The children's previously divided feelings come together and they become friends, and the moment a change occurs in Yamato is a highlight.
Touching Scene 2: Taichi in a desperate situation? Tears are shed over his bond with Agumon!
Devimon, who appeared as the first boss in the original series, loses his sense of self and transforms into the ultimate form, DanDevimon, thanks to SkullKnightmon's actions! His strength is unparalleled, and Yamato and Gabumon are defeated, and Taichi is eaten by DanDevimon. MetalGreymon, watching this unfold, loses his composure in rage and begins attacking randomly. At that moment, Takeru Takaishi and Patamon step in to stop MetalGreymon's rampage. Patamon evolves into Angemon and speaks to MetalGreymon's heart. Then, Angemon's words reach MetalGreymon's warm heart, and he sees Taichi inside Dandevimon. MetalGreymon rescues Taichi, and the two confirm their bond. This scene really highlights the bond between Taichi and Agumon, and the scene where Agumon emerges crying from inside MetalGreymon is especially heartwarming!
Touching Scene 3: Yamato's desperate battle to save his younger brother, Takeru!
From the beginning of the story, Yamato has been constantly worried about his younger brother, Takeru, who doesn't live with them. Yamato finally sees Takeru being carried away as cargo by evil Digimon. Furthermore, the ancient and feared Velgmon kidnaps Takeru, and Yamato, Garurumon, Taichi, and Agumon chase after him. With Agumon's support, Yamato manages to reach Velgmon, albeit with a very dangerous method. However, Takeru is surrounded by a sort of barrier, making it difficult to rescue him. Yamato tries to save Takeru by forcing his hand through the barrier, and WereGarurumon protects them. Their efforts for the sake of their loved ones are truly touching. Incidentally, Takeru almost falls into Velgmon's hands again, but there's also a touching scene in which Angemon arrives in response to Takeru's genuinely angry voice.
Touching Scene 4: Taichi and Agumon stand up despite defeat! Towards an unknown evolutionary form!
Taichi desperately pursues his sister Hikari, kidnapped by SkullKnightmon, but his efforts are in vain as she disappears into the distance... Furthermore, Taichi and his friends are confronted by the Ultimate Digimon Crossmon, who is no match for him even after evolving into MetalGreymon. Though completely defeated, Taichi and Agumon rise again and pursue the new evolutionary form they briefly attained during their battle with Dandevimon. Then, when they confront Crossmon again, they willingly awaken the unknown evolution they had been awakening to, transforming into the Ultimate Digimon WarGreymon! They overwhelm Crossmon and his allies. Taichi and Agumon have faced many obstacles up until now, but this scene really shows what they've accomplished.
Emotional Scene 5: Gabumon is captured! Yamato and Gabumon's past is revealed!
Yamato and Gabumon find Mephismon, who uses a mysterious technique to turn Digimon into balls and give them to Millenniumon's fragments. Yamato and his friends take action to rescue the captured Digimon, but Gabumon is captured by Mephismon. Then, Joe and Gomamon suddenly appear before a confused Yamato. Joe and Gomamon smile and accept Yamato's request to "help save Gabumon." It's revealed here that Yamato and Gabumon first met in the network world, and initially ignored Yamato. However, Gabumon risked his life to protect Yamato, and they faced the enemy together, and a true friendship blossomed between them. It's truly moving to see Yamato trying to save Gabumon while remembering this, and the two risking their lives for each other!
