This is a battle manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from issue 11 of 2016 to issue 24 of 2020, and the author is Koyoharu Gotouge. At first glance, his name makes him seem like a man, but Gotouge is actually a woman.
The TV anime aired from April to September 2019, and the sequel, the "Mugen Train Arc", is scheduled to be released as a movie on October 16, 2020.
The protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, lives peacefully with his family deep in the mountains, but when he returns home from town, he finds a gruesome scene.
His family has been brutally murdered by demons, and Tanjiro descends the mountain with his sister Nezuko, who is barely alive.
However, on the way, Nezuko is transformed into a demon. Tanjiro is saved by Giyu Tomioka, a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, and sets out on a journey to turn Nezuko back into a human.
The first season of the anime covers up to the middle of volume 7 of the manga, and the movie version "Mugen Train" continues from there to volume 8.
This time, we would like to introduce the strongest characters who have appeared up to "Mugen Train" in a ranking format.
10th place: Zenitsu Agatsuma
Ranked 10th is Zenitsu, who uses the Thunder Breathing technique. The first form, "Bokuriki Issen," is like a sword drawing technique that slashes at the opponent as quickly as lightning, and is very fast and powerful. Zenitsu's ability to perform six consecutive attacks is hard to believe for a low-ranking member. However, he was only able to learn the first form, and because of its limited strength that it can only be used while sleeping, he was ranked 10th. Let's hope that Zenitsu will awaken in the future!
9th place: Hashibira Inosuke
In ninth place is Inosuke, who uses the Beast Breathing technique. The Beast Breathing technique is derived from the Wind Breathing technique, but it is a breathing technique that Inosuke created on his own, and no one else can use it. I think she has a great sense of swordsmanship, as she has created her own breathing technique. She also excels at dodging her opponents' attacks and finding their location, making use of her excellent sense of touch.
Eighth place: Nezuko Kamado
Eighth place is Nezuko, who has retained her human ego even after becoming a demon. During the battle with Rui, she talks to her late mother and learns the blood spirit technique "Bakuketsu". It was said that Nezuko, despite being a demon, cannot use blood spirit techniques. Even so, she was able to fight well, but I think that Nezuko, who can now use blood spirit techniques, has the power to fight against lower-rank demons. However, although her abilities are high, she is unable to fully utilize her true abilities due to her combat techniques and the fact that she is restrained from eating people, so she was ranked 8th.
Seventh Place: Enmu
Seventh place is Enmu, the sleeping demon who appeared in the "Infinity Train Arc" as the Lower Rank One. He shows a well-prepared side by using the art of manipulating dreams to destroy the opponent's "spiritual core" before fighting.
His fighting power is not that great, but he ranked 7th because of the threat of his techniques and the way he tormented Tanjiro and his friends by fusing with trains and transferring his body.
Sixth place: Kamado Tanjiro
Sixth place is the main character Tanjiro, who uses the Water Breathing technique. Tanjiro has a serious personality and is steadily getting stronger by working hard and training. The Hinokami Kagura that he learned from his father is very powerful, but he is unable to use it properly. In addition, the Water Breathing technique does not suit his body, so he is unable to use it properly either. Tanjiro's skills are solid, having defeated the lower-ranked demons Rui and Enmu, but he is unable to master his breathing technique and is completely worn out every time, so he has settled on this ranking.
If he could master Hinokami Kagura, he would be ranked higher.
Fifth Place: Kocho Shinobu
Fifth place goes to Kocho, the Insect Pillar, who is cute and kind, but also somewhat scary. As a pillar, her skills go without saying. She is also skilled in poisonous attacks and is the only swordsman who can kill demons without slicing their necks.
I would like to rank him higher in terms of his demon-killing ability, but his overall fighting power is inferior to Rengoku and Tomioka, so he has been ranked here.
Fourth place: Rengoku Kyojuro
Third place is Rengoku, the Flame Pillar, another protagonist of the "Mugen Train Arc". His ability is acknowledged by the other members of the Pillars, and Kocho said that she would feel safe if Rengoku went. Unfortunately, he is killed by Akaza, the Upper Rank Three, but if it weren't for the demon's healing ability, Rengoku would definitely have won. It's a power that includes that, so there's no point in saying such a thing... In addition to his fighting ability, he also has the leadership skills to lead his subordinates and the ability to make accurate decisions instantly, so he may be number one among the pillars in terms of overall strength.
Third place: Giyu Tomioka
Third place is Tomioka, the Water Pillar who led Tanjiro to the Demon Slayer Corps. Even though he was wounded, he was able to instantly kill Rui, the Lower Rank Five, which is impressive. Normally, Water Breathing only has ten forms, but Tomioka has mastered Water Breathing and created the eleventh form himself. He is not good at communicating and is a loner even among the Demon Slayer Corps, but his abilities are real.
Second place Akaza
Second place is Akaza, the Upper Rank Three, the greatest enemy in the "Mugen Train Arc". Akaza's abilities are considerable, with his bare-handed combat style, deploying magic formulas and destructive killing, and even cornering Rengoku, a pillar.
Rengoku died in this battle, and Akaza escaped and survived. It's frustrating, but his ability is currently ranked second. It seems there is a wall that the upper and lower rank demons cannot overcome.
I believe that Tanjiro will avenge Rengoku!
First Place: Kibutsuji Muzan
And the honorable first place goes to the Demon Slayer Corps and Tanjiro's greatest enemy, Kibutsuji Muzan.
No matter how strong the upper rank demons are, they are strengthened by sharing Muzan's blood, and they cannot defy Muzan. Muzan, who has the ability to turn humans into demons and has been threatening humans for hundreds of years, is surely the number one.
There have been no scenes of Muzan fighting the Demon Slayer Corps so far, but you can easily imagine his power from the fact that Akaza was scared like a baby.
The strongest characters that have appeared so far are announced! Summary
What do you think?
Demons ranked first and second, but I hope that this ranking will be overturned in the future.
This ranking includes my personal opinions, and was chosen from among characters who had battles up until the "Mugen Train Arc", so those who know the previous story may find some points hard to understand, but please understand.
