The Demon Slayer Corps features many female characters, including Kanroji and Shinobu, but the heroine among them is undoubtedly Nezuko, Tanjiro's younger sister and a demon! Originally a human girl, she was transformed into a demon, and as a result, her appearance seems even more adorable. However, her body is that of a demon. One wrong move could certainly lead to serious trouble. So, in this article, we'll introduce Nezuko's charm and danger!

Nezuko was originally a kind, human girl.

Nezuko was transformed into a demon in Episode 1, making this a rare scene of her human form. After transforming into a demon, her long hair has become her trademark, but when she was human she would tie her hair up and give off the impression of a kind older sister who looked after her younger brother. Judging from her expression, it seems she also loved Tanjiro from this time on.

After Muzan killed his entire family except for Nezuko, Tanjiro hurried up the snowy mountain carrying Nezuko, who was barely breathing. At that moment, Nezuko suddenly lets out a demonic roar. Noticing that her scent is different from usual and that she is on the verge of turning into a demon, he encourages her, saying "Don't become a demon" and "Do your best," as Nezuko begins to cry.

Nezuko's feelings for Tanjiro ultimately overcome hers, leading her to try to protect him.

Tanjiro tries to protect Nezuko when she is nearly killed by Tomioka, the Water Pillar, who just so happens to be there. However, his strength is not enough and he is knocked unconscious. At the time, Tanjiro was throwing an axe, and while Tomioka was distracted, Nezuko took advantage of the opportunity to escape from Tomioka. When she ran towards Tanjiro, she took the exact opposite action of "protecting Tanjiro" to Tomioka, who thought he would "be eaten," and as a result, he was let off the hook.

Nezuko's gag is essential to prevent her from becoming a demon.

One of Nezuko's most distinctive features is the large bamboo gag she wears around her mouth. This was something that Tomioka prepared and put on Tanjiro and the others while they were unconscious when they were first transformed into demons. While wearing it, their consciousness and eyes become clouded, but as the story progresses they begin to live their lives normally even with the gag on.

When bamboo isn't available, cloth-like materials can be used instead

When Nezuko transforms into a demon, she may destroy the bamboo gag by chewing it to shatter. However, to suppress the symptoms, she may use a cloth-like material instead of bamboo.

Nezuko can stretch her body!

Demonized Nezuko can stretch her body, and when her transformation progresses significantly, her body shape changes from this normal state to a more adult-like one. However, this body shape remains the default even during combat, as long as her transformation has not progressed significantly.

During the day, Nezuko shrinks and gets carried by Tanjiro.

By the way, Nezuko cannot move around on her own due to the sun's rays, so she shrinks into this backpack and gets carried by Tanjiro. Her overall size is quite small, so the gag is too large, making her mouth a bit worrisome... but when she's this small, she's often depicted as adorable in the manga.

Nezuko's overwhelming strength after transforming into a demon

This is Nezuko at the height of her current demonic transformation. Nezuko was transformed into a demon during her battle with Daki, but in this state she is incredibly strong! Nezuko normally recovers slowly because she doesn't eat humans, but in this state her regenerative ability approaches that of the Upper Rank demons and her power increases dramatically. She is even able to overwhelm Daki.

However, once she transforms into a demon, it's difficult to stop her.

However, once Nezuko transforms into a demon, it's difficult to bring her back to normal. If left unchecked, she'll likely become a demon capable of eating humans. Tanjiro desperately tried to stop her and managed to calm her down by singing her a nostalgic song.

Nezuko's main attack method is a powerful kick!

Nezuko's main attack method without a weapon is a kick. A single kick is powerful enough to blow the head off a weak demon... The only one standing in the way was an Upper Rank demon, but she kicked him in the face with such force that she didn't care if her own arm got torn off.

Nezuko is a demon after all. Her weakness is sunlight!

Nezuko may look human and not attack humans, but she is still a demon at heart. Nikko is a demon's natural enemy and its greatest weakness. Naturally, even though she was transformed into a demon, Nezuko had no resistance to the sun's rays, and her face was burned and scorched, leaving her in a painful state.

What is Nezuko's Blood Demon Art, "Bakuketsu"?

Just as the Demon Slayer Corps has breathing techniques, demons have blood demon arts, and Nezuko can also use these techniques. The technique is called "Bakuketsu"! It has many versatility, such as being able to burn things with high heat or combined with Tanjiro's sword, but because it uses blood it seems it cannot be used often.

The blood explosion even saved the life of Tengen, a Pillar.

This blood explosion can burn only what you want it to burn, and it was extremely useful when Tengen nearly died from a deadly poison after his battle with Gyutaro, the Upper Rank Six. Nezuko successfully burned only the poison and saved Tengen's life. However, it looked like she was burning Tengen himself, which made for a funny scene, as Tengen's wife panicked.

Nezuko has finally overcome the sun! She can even speak!

After Nezuko finally overcomes the sun, she is no longer gagged and begins to speak, little by little. Nezuko was already adorable, but when she shows her bare face like this, she's even cuter! Her halting speech only adds to her cuteness!

This makes Muzan even more of a target...

However, Nezuko's overcoming of the sun isn't all good. Upon learning this, Muzan hatches a plan to eat Nezuko so he can overcome the sun himself. Muzan has been keeping tabs on Nezuko's movements for some time, but it looks like his actions will become even more active from now on.

What do you think of what we've written so far about the heroine Nezuko? Nezuko popping out of nowhere after shrinking is cute, and the demonized Nezuko is quite voluptuous... but the best one is probably the one after overcoming the sun. Which Nezuko do you like the most?
