Episode 6 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been released. I hadn't been able to watch it until now for various reasons, but I finally watched it one morning on a holiday and it was so interesting that I binge-watched it all in one go. The story begins with tragedy. After his family is killed by demons, his sister becomes one herself. You might think it would be a story about hatred for demons, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's a comical depiction of a man's deep love for his sister and his journey to becoming a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. And then there's the battle against man-eating demons. Each episode is a story that's both naive and cool. There are some moments in certain episodes that make you wonder, "What is this!?", but overall, it's a story that's more captivating than you'd expect. In this article, I'd like to give you a brief introduction to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Brief Synopsis
The story is set in the Taisho era. Following the death of his father, the protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, supports his family by selling charcoal. One day, his family is killed by a demon. Nezuko, the only surviving member of the family, also becomes a demon. This is the story of his quest to turn his sister back into a human. Guided by Tomioka, Tanjiro visits the "mentor" Urokodaki Sakonji, and begins intensive training to reform his sister and join the Demon Slayer Corps. The training lasts for two years. After completing his training, Tanjiro takes the final exam. During this time, Tanjiro receives a warding mask from Urokodaki. For the final test, he must survive seven days on a mountain infested with demons. There, he fights the strange demons he encounters. After successfully passing the test and joining the Demon Slayer Corps, he embarks on his first mission, where he will face demons with supernatural powers.
The Appeal of Demon Slayer: Beautiful Art
The character portrayals and the demons' expressions are a bit unusual. Even so, the art is incredibly beautiful. The battle scenes are cool and enjoyable to watch. There's no sense of the animation being flawed, and the characters' expressions are amazing. It's easy to see emotions like sadness and anger lurking within the kindness.
The Appeal of Demon Slayer: Overflowing with Love and Kindness
Tanjiro even shares his love and kindness with the demons he slays. Urokodaki, who raised Tanjiro, and his sister Nezuko also shower love on those around them. There are touching scenes throughout the series. These aren't depicted as the story's most important moments, but often appear unexpectedly. Just watching this work will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy.
The Appeal of Demon Slayer: Every Bit of Its Fun
Everything in this work is depicted in a humorous way. Human life and death are at stake in battle scenes. Contrasting with this is a fair amount of humorous, comedic moments. There are times when you wonder if they're aiming for it, or if it's a trap, or if they're trying to kill you! Or, after a touching scene, a Hyottoko character pops up right after, making this a work that never gets boring. This excellent balance of emotion, laughter, and kindness makes it truly entertaining.
The Appeal of Demon Slayer: The Fighting is Great
Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps to cure his sister, who has turned into a demon. Tanjiro has a sharp nose, and through training, he even gains the ability to see special lines. While unrealistic, this is by no means a self-centered work. The protagonist's straightforward personality and abilities are acquired through hard work. And the depiction of the battle scenes is also wonderful.
Finally
Please definitely watch the anime. In fact, I actually like it more than the original manga.
