The one who leads the Demon Slayer Corps, which specializes in exterminating demons, is Ubuyashiki Kagaya, who, like Muzan, commands the Pillars with his overwhelming charisma. Due to a curse, he was born sickly and is unable to fight demons, but the Pillars are fascinated by Ubuyashiki and fight demons every day. In this article, let's take a look at who Ubuyashiki is, the commander in chief!

"1/f fluctuation." While it's a phrase you probably won't hear in your everyday life, Ubuyashiki's voice falls into this range, and those who hear it are apparently comforted and uplifted. There's no doubt that this voice is one of the secrets to Ubuyashiki's charisma.
Ubuyashiki is blind due to an illness (curse)

Ubuyashiki is under a curse, causing him to become ill, the symptoms of which worsen as he ages. When he first appears, he seems to have lost most of his eyesight (or perhaps even gone completely blind?). He can tell from the atmosphere that the weather is nice, but he can't tell what color the sky is without asking someone.

Ubuyashiki himself may not be overwhelmingly strong, but his charisma is so great that even the Pillars who had been fighting just moments before kneel and bow as soon as he appears, as if the previous commotion was a lie. (Tanjiro even ends up having his head pinned to the ground.) This scene shows just how much they adore Ubuyashiki.
The Ubuyashiki wife is expressionless, but incredibly beautiful!

The Ubuyashiki family has a curse, and to prolong their lives, each generation has a predetermined spouse. The Ubuyashiki family had a wife named "Amane." This wife was incredibly beautiful! Tanjiro was so overwhelmed by her beauty that he thought she was a fairy or something. However, her expression was stiff and completely expressionless. Even so, she stayed by Ubuyashiki's side, supporting him until the very end as he grew weaker day by day.
When Ubuyashiki was unable to move, she even acted as his substitute.

The Demon Slayer Corps holds a Pillar Meeting every six months, where Ubuyashi plays a central role in the exchange of opinions. However, when Ubuyashiki's condition worsened and he was unable to move, Amane took over as his substitute. Even then, the Pillars did not object, and instead showed concern for the health of their Lord, Ubuyashiki.

"Defeat Muzan!" That's Tanjiro's ambitious goal. However, as he talks about his various difficult goals, Ubuyashiki narrows his eyes, smiles, and gently tells him that Tanjiro can't achieve them now. The child's expression at this moment was truly wide-eyed (lol). Kanroji, who was also there, struggled to contain her laughter. While it's not uncommon to see Ubuyashiki smiling, it's extremely rare to see him laughing this much.
The Ubuyashiki family has five children! They even have a boy who will be the heir.

There were five children in the Ubuyashiki household. All of them looked similar, wore similar kimonos, and had similar hair accessories. Among them was one child with black hair. Like the others, he wore a kimono and had a similar hairstyle and hair accessories. However, he was the only boy, and was destined to be the heir to the Ubuyashiki family.
Ubuyashiki is excited after finally defeating the Upper Rank Six

Upon receiving the news that Tengen, Tanjiro, and the others had defeated Gyutaro, Upper Rank Six, Ubuyashiki coughs up blood and appears distressed, yet unusually excited. That's no surprise, as the Demon Slayer Corps had been unable to defeat an Upper Rank demon for over 100 years. It's likely that Ubuyashiki was so excited because he felt that they had taken a big step closer to defeating Muzan, which was their prayer.
The tragic end of Ubuyashiki's mission to defeat Muzan...

The day Muzan tracked down Ubuyashiki's mansion and came to him. Ubuyashiki, with his foresight, had anticipated this before anyone else. And so, in order to fight back against Muzan while his body was motionless, he decided to commit suicide along with his family. Not only himself, but his wife and two daughters were also dragged into the suicide bombing of the Ubuyashiki house, buying time for the Pillars to gather.
The suicide bombing, involving his family, was planned from the beginning.

When Muzan arrived at the mansion, he realized that only Ubuyashiki, his wife, and their two children were present. If it had been just Ubuyashiki, Muzan would have been more cautious. However, his wife was nearby, and their children were playing innocently in the garden. Muzan even felt a sense of comfort. However, there was no son there to take over as his successor, so perhaps Ubuyashiki had intended from the beginning to commit suicide and leave behind an heir.
Ubuyashiki only told the Rock Pillar, Gyomei Himejima, about his final plan.

The plan was to use Ubuyashiki himself as a decoy to defeat Muzan. This is an important plan that should normally be discussed and decided at a Hashira meeting, but Ubuyashiki only told Himejima Gyomei about it. The reason is that the Hashira who admire him would absolutely oppose it. (Some of the Hashira had also said that bodyguards should be provided.) The fact that he only told Himejima about this plan shows how much he trusted him.

The Pillars, who had not been informed of the decoy operation in advance, panicked upon hearing of Muzan's attack and tried to rush to the mansion. However, Ubuyashiki self-destructed right before their eyes. Those who were stunned and dumbfounded in front of the burning flames were frozen in place, unable to do anything.
Ubuyashiki Kagaya, Died at the Age of 23

The members of the Ubuyashiki family were cursed with sickly bodies when Muzan, a member of their bloodline, became a demon, leaving them unable to live beyond the age of 30. Kagaya was no exception, and would not have lived to be 30 even without this suicide bombing. Still, when I finally found out he was 23, I was amazed at how he'd made such a decisive decision at such an age.

Ubuyashiki was cursed from birth by Muzan's influence and was destined not to live long. Even so, it is impressive that he continued to resist and fight until the very end. Ubuyashiki is dead, but we cannot take our eyes off the future developments to see how the Pillars who loved him will fight back.
