"Cells at Work!", an anime series that began airing in July 2018, is a comical depiction of the cells that thrive in the human body, but it also features a wide variety of cells that exist within the body.
What is Cells at Work?
This is a serialized manga adaptation of the one-shot story "Cell Story," which won the Shonen Sirius Grand Prize Newcomer Award. As the title suggests, the show uses personification to provide an easy-to-understand explanation of how cells in the body work. In July 2018, in response to heatstroke becoming a nationwide problem, episode 6, "Heatstroke," was made available for free.
The Appeal of Cells at Work!
The appeal of Cells at Work! is how it clearly communicates the role of each cell. This video teaches us all sorts of unknown facts about the human body, such as how invisible substances like cells and pathogens work, and why we cough and sneeze. Watching it, you somehow develop a deep attachment to each cell. Perhaps this charm is the secret to its popularity.
