The popular manga "Cells at Work" was adapted into an anime in July 2018. Since the anime began, the "platelets" that appear in the story have been gaining praise for being "too cute!!" Many people seem to have been captivated by the way they work so diligently with their tiny bodies. Despite their small appearance, when there is an abrasion or other wound inside the body, they rush together and diligently close the wound, making them look like true professionals.

I have a vague question: Why are the platelets so cute? In my opinion, it's first her appearance, then how hard she works, and above all, the contrast with the other characters. Of course, Platelet-chan works hard, but she's more of a hands-on help. The other cells are depicted as directly protecting the body, which somehow makes her seem more carefree and adorable.

It's said that platelets' small size is related to their smaller size compared to other cells. Furthermore, did you know that platelets don't live very long as cells? Perhaps their cruel fate is to be destroyed before they have a chance to grow into adults. How sad.
