The anime series A Certain Scientific Accelerator has begun. It's been a long time since its first anime adaptation, but it's still as entertaining as ever! This time, it's a spin-off story starring Accelerator. So, what kind of person is this protagonist? Let's briefly summarize where in the timeline the story takes place.
What is Accelerator anyway?
He was originally a normal boy, but after his ability caused harm to those around him at the age of 10, he became less emotionally invested in others. Furthermore, he was adversely affected by an experiment and began to reject those around him. He also believed that if he became a "Level 6" esper, said to be the strongest, absolute esper, he would be able to avoid hurting those around him. After being defeated by Kamijo, the protagonist of the first work, "A Certain Magical Index," he meets a girl named "Last Order." Uisaki refers to "No. 20001," the last of the mass-produced clones of Misaka Mikoto, known as the "sisters," and is sometimes referred to as the "final signal (virus code)." She was created to prevent Mikoto's clone "sisters" from starting a "rebellion." Incidentally, the reason she looks young, around 10 years old, is because she was released from the incubation machine during her production. After meeting Uisaki, Accelerator acts to protect her and the "sisters," and gradually learns compassion for others.
Timeline with Other Series
Due to A Certain Magical Index, Accelerator begins in a similar situation to this anime. This means that the timeline likely overlaps with Index 2. If more keywords were introduced, we might be able to get a rough idea of the background. Perhaps the Daihaseisai (Great Battle Festival)?
In terms of the series, this is the sixth anime.
The main series, Index 1-3 and the spin-off, and two Superconducting Books have already been adapted into anime. This marks the sixth installment in the series, but each was a two-season series, with either 24 or 26 episodes, so a considerable number of episodes have aired. Watching this first episode, I found it incredibly entertaining, and it's no wonder it's so popular. I'm already looking forward to the next installment.
