This time, we'll be looking at the charm and strength of Kanzaki Kaori, who has appeared frequently since the first season of the anime "A Certain Magical Index." A tall, beautiful woman with an incredible figure and a ponytail, she is an incredibly skilled magician, and we'll delve into her past and the secrets behind her strength.

A former High Priestess of the Amakusa Cross Religion and a magician affiliated with the "Church of Necessary Evil." She is one of only a dozen or so superhumans (saints) in the world, and her magic name is "Salvere000 (Saving the Unsaved)." Her long hair is tied in a ponytail with the bottom knotted so that her belly button is visible, she wears a loose T-shirt, jeans with one leg cut all the way to the bottom, and a western belt around her waist that carries the Seven Heavenly Seven Swords symbol (commonly known as the Western-Look Samurai Girl). Those around her think it's just an "extremely erotic outfit," but wearing this asymmetrical attire apparently increases her magical powers.

At 170 cm tall (some say 176 cm), she's even taller than Kamijou and boasts a physique unusual for a Japanese person. Despite her appearance, she's only 18 years old, no matter what anyone says. Before reading the original manga, voice actress Shizuka Itou thought she was about 23 years old. In the manga, Kamijo monologues, saying, "She's a lot sexier than I thought. She's probably about 10 years older than me."

Saint: Kaori Kanzaki

A superhuman saint, one of only 20 in the world, he is a saint. In just three pages, he can kill 21 knights who swam from Europe to the waters off Japan, smash through more than 10 stacks of roofing tiles with his bare hands, swing a fortress weighing tens of tons with just his bare hands, collapse a 50-meter-long concrete wall with a single kick, and perform 1,000 actions per second (far exceeding the speed of sound). His physical abilities are practically a joke. If he so desires, he can even use his spiritual equipment to move around outside the atmosphere without any physical force.

These "saints" are people who possess symbolic resemblances to the legendary Jesus Christ (stigmata), which allow them to manifest a certain percentage of the miracles of the "Son of God." Their fighting power is momentarily comparable to that of an "angel." Furthermore, his attacks are not only brute-force, but also top-notch in accuracy; with a visual acuity of 8.0, he can see metal fragments less than 1mm in size flying around him as if they were still, and can hit each and every one of them with his attacks.

She specializes in hand-to-hand combat, using the Japanese sword "Seven Heavenly Seven Swords" in the "Yuisen" drawing technique and the "Seven Flash" wire attack. His "Flash," which instantly condenses and unleashes the power of the saint, boasts immense power and is said to be capable of even cutting through an average angel. During the "Angel Fall" incident, he fought Misha Kreutzev, who possessed the archangel "God's Power (Gabriel)," and survived, which should give a good indication of his true strength.

Kamisaki Kaori's Past

She was born as the Priestess of the Amakusa Style Cross Sect and is blessed with great fortune thanks to God's protection. However, she became troubled by the idea that she was "bringing misfortune to those around her," and left the Amakusa Style to join the British Puritan Church's "Church of Necessary Evil." Due to this past, the magic name is "Salvare000 (A helping hand to the helpless)," and its philosophy remains the teaching of the Amakusa style today.

The Amakusa Cross Sect was reborn as the new Amakusa Cross Sect after she realized the importance of her allies during a battle with Acqua. She called out to them, "Let's fight together." This led to her returning as a Priestess and the rebirth of the Amakusa Cross Sect. Furthermore, due to the "collar" incident in the first season of the anime and the repeated kindness shown to him, he feels a great sense of gratitude and affection for Kamijo.

Kamizaki Kaori VS Washing Machine

A gift from Academy City, apparently delivered to the British Puritan Girls' Dormitory, is a state-of-the-art washing machine. Kaori and her friends, who had previously had no connection with science, are confused by this unexpected encounter with a super-civilization, and one day they find themselves sitting in front of the washing machine, poring over the instruction manual. She decides to try it out by throwing in some dyed obi and yukata obi, but when she finds out that they shouldn't be washed in the washing machine, she frantically tries to stop it. Not knowing how to operate it, she tries to forcefully stop the machine, smashing the machine with both hands. She breaks down in tears at the ruin of her dyed obi and the fact that her naked body has been seen. I'm sure many people became fans of Kanzaki Kaori after watching this scene.

In the first and second seasons of the anime, Kaori Kanzaki appeared in the story, but her only flashy battle scenes were during "The Battle with Kamijou" and "The Angel's Fall," and she didn't really get much of a chance to shine. As a saint with strategic value comparable to that of a nuclear weapon, Kaori's character is easily defeated unless her opponent is powerful, making the story uninteresting. She's a rather inconvenient character. However, despite her limited screen time in the anime for various reasons, she makes a solid appearance in Season 3.

VS. Acqua in the Rear

First, the battle against Acqua, the "Right Seat of God," promises a high-level battle between saints. It will be interesting to see how faithfully the original story can be recreated. Acqua is no ordinary saint, so even Kagami cannot defeat her alone. It will be interesting to see how the show ends.

VS Knight Leader

In the British Royal Family arc, she first faces the Knight Leader of the Knight Faction. Having received the "power of an angel" from Cartana, a powerful force within Britain alone, the Knight Leader overwhelms the saintly Kanjou. She also battles the second princess, Carissa, who obtained Cartana = the Original through a coup d'état. However, Kanjou alone is no match for Cartana's immense power, which is said to be on the same level as an archangel. From the author's perspective, the equation "a level that Kanjou Kaori cannot defeat = a very strong enemy" holds true, so Kanjou may be useful as a gauge of opponent strength.

Although she may sometimes lose to extremely strong foes, her ability to fight together and find a way out is truly quintessential Kanzaki Kaori. In the battle against Acqua, we see the collaboration between Kanzaki and Amakusa Shiki, who have always had feelings for each other despite their differences. I hope you will also enjoy the feelings of the Amakusa Shiki members, who dreamed of fighting side by side again.

Kamisagi Kaori's Famous Quotes

God, if you only save the chosen ones, then I will save all the rest of the unchosen ones.

The meaning behind the name of the spell, Salvare000 (Saving the Unsaved), is striking. When I read this sentence, I was struck by her strength and kindness.

Please lend me your strength. Your strength!

These are the words she spoke when she asked for help from her former Amakusa Shiki comrades who were present during the battle with Acqua. This one word was so moving that it helped the Amakusa Shiki members rise, even though they were completely worn down. It's a scene I highly recommend you see in the anime.

The superiority complex of "I'll protect you" was the root cause of all this tragedy. That's why I'm going to overcome it. By believing in them, relying on them, and each of us maximizing our strengths, I will restore my Amakusa Cross Religion. We are our leaders, and our allies are us. There's no need for a single leader like a "saint."

By putting her mistakes into words, she acknowledges them and declares her determination to move forward.

Summary

Kamizaki Kaori will continue to play an active role in various scenes. Be sure to check out the original manga and anime to see her repay Kamijou her kindness, her battle scenes, and more.
