Various familias exist in the world of DanMachi, and each familia has its own "chief deity." These gods descended to Earth in search of excitement. Each has their own unique personality. Today, we'll introduce the gods who appear in the story!

Hestia

Smiling Hestia

First up is the main heroine, Hestia! She's a cute goddess with a petite stature and distinctive twintails. Having only recently formed her familia, Hestia is still a rookie. While Bell Cranel was the only member at the time, if the story plays out as planned, we expect the number of familia members to gradually increase in season two.

When you think of Hestia, you think of "that famous string!"

The famous string supporting Hestia's breasts

Hestia is a small, tomboyish girl who uses "boku" (boku) as her first-person pronoun. Even among the gods, she's known for her "loli big breasts," and she boasts two of the most impressive breasts in heaven...but what's even more noteworthy are the mysterious strings known as "the famous strings" that support them. While they're not worn when she's wearing other costumes, and don't seem particularly necessary, these strings are considered Hestia's most distinctive feature.

Loki

Loki always has his eyes closed

The goddess of the Loki Familia, one of the largest and most powerful familias in Orario. She speaks in a pseudo-Kansai dialect, generally narrows her eyes, and rarely opens them. She is an avid drinker and also loves beautiful women and girls. For this reason, the female members of the Loki Familia are all beautiful women and girls, including Aiz, who always flirts with her and brushes her off.

Small breasts? No, no breasts!

Loki Has a Breast Insecurities

Even with such a powerful Familia, Loki's biggest weakness is his bust size! As Loki himself considers it his biggest insecurity, his breasts are anything but beautiful, down to a total lack of breasts! Perhaps because of this, he doesn't get along well with Hestia, who has large breasts, and they often end up fighting whenever they meet. Incidentally, there was also an experience where I dressed up in a dress to mock Hestia, but she made fun of my breasts and I walked away instead (lol).

Hephaestus

Smiling Hephaestus

Hephaestus is the goddess of the Hephaestus Familia, a world-famous manufacturer of expensive military equipment. Among the many gods with unique personalities, she is a mature goddess with a fairly calm personality. Her distinctive feature is the large eyepatch she wears over her right eye. While the eyepatch wasn't mentioned in the first season, it seems she has a strong insecurities about her right eye and wears it to hide them.

Hephaestus Takes Care of Hestia

Hestia Working for Hephaestus

Unlike Loki, Hephaestus often takes care of Hestia, and when she descended to the mortal world, he looked after her as a friend of the gods. (Though he kicked her out after seeing her attitude...) He even gave her the abandoned church that is the Hestia Familia, and made her work at his familia's shop, literally paying with her body in exchange for crafting Hestia knives.

Freya

Bored-Looking Freya

Even among the many beautiful goddesses, Freya stands out for her striking beauty, earning her the nickname "Goddess of Beauty." While she usually has a gentle and elegant air of a young lady, her familia's fighting power exceeds that of the Loki Familia, including Ottar, a level 7 who is said to be the strongest in Orario. While Freya didn't make any major moves as a familia in Season 1, we can expect some spectacular battles if the conflict with Ishtar is depicted in Season 2.

Freya's Unusual Obsession with Bell

Freya with an ecstatic expression

Freya, who is said to be the goddess of beauty, is captivated by Bell Cranel. From the moment she laid eyes on him, she took an unnatural liking to him, and while giving him trials and helping him grow, she plots to somehow make him her own. She is also quite jealous, and when Bell was scheduled to dance with Ais, she said something threatening: "I wonder if you could bring the Minotaur here?"

Miach

Miach handing over a potion

He is the head deity of the Miach Familia, a tool shop that sells potions and other items. He has a very kind personality, and often gives potions to Bell for free. However, this kindness can be a downfall. Due to debts incurred in a certain incident, the Familia is constantly in the red, and all members except the leader have left. In the first season, only Naaza, the leader, remained. He treats both men and women with kindness, and this personality seems to be very popular among the women of Orario.

Takemikazuchi

Takemikazuchi with a serious expression

As you can see, he is the patron deity of the Takemikazuchi Familia, which has a strong "Japanese" image. His members are also from the Far East, and their names contain Japanese-like kanji. Like Hestia, he has not lived in the mortal world for very long, and there are only six human members. (Of these, only Ouka, Mikoto, and Chigusa have been mentioned by name.) He is close friends with Hestia, and they call each other "Take." It was he who taught Hestia how to dogeza.

Hermes

Seated Hermes

In Season 1, Hermes was the patron deity of the Hermes Familia, watching over Bell like a mastermind. As his traveler-like attire suggests, he is usually away traveling, leaving matters of the Familia entirely to Asfi, the leader of the group. He often takes bold actions, regardless of the risks, to achieve his goals. When Bell went missing in the dungeon, he took Asfi with him.

Ganesha

Ganesha wearing a strange mask

This slightly eccentric chief deity wears the elephant mask that is also the Familia's emblem. Despite his strange appearance, his Familia boasts many skilled, advanced adventurers and is one of the most powerful in Orario. He particularly cares for humans, and when a scandal occurred during the Monster Festival in Season 1, he put the people first, requesting support from other Familias without regard for reputation.

Apollo

Apollo appears with his arms outstretched

The head god of the Apollo Familia, who did not appear in Season 1, is likely to feature the War Games in Season 2, so his appearance is eagerly awaited. The Familia is full of beautiful men and women, and Apollo is also portrayed as a handsome man. He was originally supposed to have blonde hair, but in the trailer, he appears with red hair.

Summary of the Gods Appearing

Hestia giving a thumbs up

So far, we've introduced the gods, and Hestia is clearly quite popular. Personally, I like Hephaestus the best... (lol) Which god is your favorite?
