The Demon Slayer manga is soon approaching its 150th chapter, and as of January 2019, 14 volumes have been released. With such a long run, many famous quotes have appeared in the series. So today, we've ranked some of those quotes! We'll be showcasing a top 10 list, ranging from terrifyingly serious quotes to slightly silly and funny ones.

No. 10: Zenitsu's Stupid Post-Battle Quotes

No. 10 is Zenitsu's line after he cuts off the demon's head. While this scene alone might seem incredibly cool, Zenitsu remains unconscious throughout the fight. After this, he wakes up to find the dead demon and his famous line is, "He's suddenly dead. What's going on?! I can't take it anymore!". It's a line that's very typical of Zenitsu, as he trembles and cries.

After the battle with the Upper Rank demon, things turned tragic...

Zenitsu has fought the Upper Rank Six demon before, and of course, he fought at full power, exceeding his limits. When he regained consciousness, his whole body was in pain and both legs felt as if they were broken. Again, I have no memory of the fight, so I don't know who hit me, and I was so scared of what had happened to my leg that I couldn't even look at it, so I just cried and screamed.

9th Place: A Sad Quote from Tomioka

Tomioka Insists He's Not Hated

In 9th place is a quote from Tomioka that's just too sad. Shinobu told him that he was disliked because he was like that, and while he generally has a blank expression, you'd think he didn't care, but it turns out he was quite worried... The line he uttered, expressionless, was, "No one hates me." It was a difficult response, but he's a nice guy, just bad at expressing his feelings, so he probably doesn't hate me (lol).

Shinobu's harsh response to his words was even more sad.

Tomioka feigned composure and declared, "I'm not hated," but Shinobu, upon hearing this, looked somewhat pitying and delivered the final blow: "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you hated me." She even added, "I'm sorry for saying something unnecessary." This really made me feel sorry for Tomioka.

8th Place: Genya's Absolutely Villainous Line

Bloody and Aggressive Genya

In 8th place is this line from Genya, which is a pretty cliched development for a shonen manga, but still cool! "That's the name of the man who'll kill you." As you can see, this was the final panel of chapter 109, and the fact that he spoke this confidently while covered in blood and on the verge of death made me think, "There must be some kind of secret behind this."

7th Place: A Line That Shows Zenitsu's Manliness, Even Though He's Usually a Struggler

In 7th place is the line Zenitsu spoke when he successfully protected the box containing Nezuko. This scene is of course a famous one, but the best part is when Zenitsu, in his battered state, says, "You said that this was more important than your life..." Zenitsu continues to protect it even though he doesn't know what's inside it yet. Now that he knows Nezuko is inside, he'd probably risk his life to protect her, of course (lol).

6th Place: A Scene Where Tanjiro Says His Most Typical Words

For sixth place, I chose the words Tanjiro said to Kanao when encouraging her: "Do your best!!" "Because people are driven by their hearts. The heart can become endlessly strong!!" It's a line that strikes a chord with readers as well. It's also a scene that is very much like Tanjiro, as he casually leaves the scene, leaving Kanao stunned by his sheer force.

No. 5: Scenes where Tanjiro motivates himself during battle

For No. 5, I chose scenes where Tanjiro motivates himself during battle. Since writing out all the lines would be too long, I'll just excerpt a few: "I've done well so far! I can do it!" " !" Tanjiro is so confident in himself. It's truly impressive.

4th Place: The Scene Where Rengoku Explains What a Pillar Is

The scene where Rengoku explains what a Pillar is is my fourth place pick. Tanjiro sheds tears as he watches Rengoku, who is useless and heading towards death. Rengoku tells Tanjiro, "Don't worry about me dying here. As a Pillar, it's only natural that you should be a shield for your juniors." It was a moving quote, showing his concern for Tanjiro until the very end.

Third Place: Tanjiro Stands Alone Despite Serious Injuries

For third place, I chose this line from Tanjiro, who, despite believing he wasn't the "chosen one," refused to back down against the demon: "There are times when a person just can't back down." The chosen user will have a birthmark, but Tanjiro's own birthmark is one he wasn't born with, and yet he still speaks this line when he tries to assert his own will in front of the demon.

2nd Place: Glad I'm the Eldest Son! A scene that makes you think that way

Tanjiro enduring the pain

I chose this scene for second place because it's a bit depressing. Tanjiro keeps thinking about how much pain he's in, but here's the reason he was able to endure it! "He was enduring a lot of pain!! I was the eldest son, so I could endure it, but if I were the second son, I wouldn't have been able to." It's true that Tanjiro was the eldest son and took care of his younger siblings, but... he must have been very patient on a daily basis (lol).

Tanjiro truly has a strong bond with his siblings.

After defeating Upper Rank Six, Tanjiro sees the quarrel between the brothers and says, "Let's get along. We're the only two siblings in this world." In that scene, Nezuko and Tanjiro stand facing each other, now siblings. Though the eldest son has endured many hardships, he values the bond between his brothers even more.

#1: Of course we can't leave it out! Rengoku's final words!

Our top pick, as always, is this line from Rengoku's final moments! "Live with pride." It's hard to believe it's coming from someone about to die. His expression almost seems to be smiling. Rengoku is currently the only Pillar to have died, but he left behind many memorable scenes and quotes.

So, what do you think of the rankings so far? As expected, Rengoku was a must-have for both memorable scenes and quotes. But until the very last moment, I was torn between this and Tanjiro's remark about being the eldest son... What was your favorite quote?
