"My Little Sister is My Little Sister, But She's Not My Little Sister" is a light novel by Ebisu Seiji that has been published since August 2016. Its abbreviation is "Imoimo." The protagonist, Nagami Yu, a high school student aspiring to become a light novel writer, repeatedly submits his work to new writer awards, but always fails first round. One day, Yu's younger sister, Nagami Suzuka, whimsically submits a work (a love comedy about a brother and sister) that wins the Light Novel Grand Prize. However, considering that their strict father won't approve of it, Yu decides to write in Suzuka's place as a writer, Towa no Chikai. Meanwhile, this incident sparks a change in his sister Suzuka, who has always been strict with herself...?! The anime adaptation began airing in October 2018 and has been a hot topic as a "love comedy about a clumsy brother and sister who connect through light novels." Here, we'll introduce our own ranking of the characters in "My Little Sister is My Little Sister, But She's Not My Little Sister" based on their attractiveness.
10th Place: Marikouji Nene

In 10th place is Marikouji Nene, a second-year junior high school student. She appears in the side story in volume 7.5. She attends the same school as Nagami Yu's younger sister, Nagami Suzuka, and is Suzuka's junior. She has black hair and a shy personality. After reading Towa no Chikai's light novels, Nene decided to aim to become a light novel writer herself. She planned to confess her feelings to Yu after making her debut as a light novel writer, but her debut did not happen. However, light novels later caused her to become more cheerful, and she began to actively participate in the student council and other activities. Nene has the special ability to immerse herself in the characters of the works. Nene, who changes rapidly as a result of reading light novels, has a charm that makes you want to root for her just by watching.
9th Place: Kanzaka Haruna
Source: My Little Sister is Not My Little Sister ©2018 Ebisu Seiji, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
9th place goes to Kanzaka Haruna, a first-year high school student. Haruna has a strong personality and is not very open-minded. Haruna, along with her sister, Akino Kamisaka, is a member of the major doujin circle "Ambivalents" and works as an illustrator. When Akino won a newcomer's award and debuted as a light novel author, Haruna was in charge of the illustrations. Haruna admired Ahegao W Peace Sensei and worked hard to eventually achieve artistic skills approaching his. However, despite his talent, Haruna was dissatisfied with the fact that Ahegao W Peace Sensei only drew "cruel" illustrations, which are generally unpopular. Haruna hoped that if she could prove superior to Ahegao W Peace Sensei by illustrating his specialty, "erotic" illustrations, he might change his ways. However, in the end, she was unable to catch up with Ahegao W Peace Sensei in that field, and eventually began to feel jealous. When she met Ahegao W Peace Sensei again after a long time, she even suggested creating a doujin work on the same subject to see which would sell better. Although Haruna lost to Ahegao W Peace Sensei in that direct match, she has declared that she will one day surpass Ahegao W Peace Sensei, and it seems she has not given up yet. Her competitive nature and inability to be honest is also one of her charms.
8th Place: Kanzaka Akino
Source: My Little Sister is Not My Little Sister ©2018 Ebisu Seiji, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
8th place goes to high school senior Kanzaka Akino. She speaks little, her facial expressions don't change much, and for some reason she usually wears a kimono, giving off a mysterious impression. Akino's younger sister is Kamisaka Haruna, who is active in the same major doujin circle, "Ambivalents." Haruna works as an illustrator, while Akino works as a scenario writer. Akino has already won a newcomer award and is set to make her debut as a light novel author. Haruna will be in charge of the illustrations when she makes her debut. Although they are active in the circle, the sisters often work together. Akino is a kind older sister who is always worried about Haruna, seeing that she has difficulty being honest with herself, and this is another aspect of her charming character. When she previously competed in a scenario contest with Nagami Yu, she was moved by the scenario Yu wrote. After that, she began to look up to Yu as a mentor. Although Yu is younger than her, he has a flexibility that makes him easy to respect, which is also appealing.
7th Place: Reika Shinozaki
Source: My Little Sister is Not My Little Sister ©2018 Seiji Ebisu, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
In 7th place is Reika Shinozaki, the editor in charge of Towa no Chikai. She appears to be a rational, seductive woman with an outstanding figure, but she also has some eccentricities, such as making sexual advances on Yu for the sake of her light novel. Despite being a little off-kilter, Reika is passionate about her work. Having declared that she has dedicated her soul to light novels, she seems to have a strong attachment to Towa no Chikai's debut work, "The Story of a Little Sister Who Loves Her Big Brother Too Much and Gets in Trouble." She is also prepared to devote herself to Nagami Yu, who acts in place of her sister as Towa no Chikai, the writer. Despite being an eccentric person, her hard-working nature is what makes her so appealing.
6th Place: Ahegao W Peace Sensei
Source: My Little Sister, But She's Not My Little Sister ©2018 Ebisu Seiji, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
In 6th place is Ahegao W Peace Sensei, the popular illustrator. Originally from England, she's a beautiful blonde girl with glasses. Her cheerful and friendly personality makes her a charming character. Ahegao W Peace Sensei is a popular illustrator working for Moon Rabbit, a developer of sadistic and abusive erotic games. Ahegao W Peace Sensei herself seems to love sadistic illustrations, and despite knowing they aren't popular with the general public, she continues to draw them because she loves them. In particular, it seems that few can match Ahegao W Peace Sensei in these fields. Her hobbies include "erotic fantasies," her favorite thing is "erotic jokes," and her least favorite thing is "erotic games that lack erotic elements." Her refreshing pursuit of eroticism is captivating, both in its simplicity and its contrast with her appearance. The incredibly stylish Ahegao W Peace Sensei also enjoys cosplay. When Nagami Yu approached her about introducing a new heroine to his story, she suggested he write a heroine he thought was cute, and she even enjoyed dressing up in various cosplay outfits to find out which heroine Yu thought was cute.
5th Place: Esaka-san

In fifth place is Esaka-san, the daughter of Maruneko Bookstore, where Nagami Yu works part-time. Her hair is in twin tails, making her look like an elementary school student, but she is technically a university student. She's what's commonly known as a "legal loli." Esaka helps out at Maruneko Bookstore, but she's a self-indulgent slacker. Despite being Yu's senior and superior, she seems to slack off all the time. She calls Yu "Nagamin" and often teases him. Esaka is a big fan of illustrator Ahegao W Peace Sensei. When Ahegao W Peace Sensei did the illustrations for Towa no Chikai's light novel, she apparently bought it just to see the illustrations. Esaka has twintails and is a "legal loli," but inside she loves Ahegao W Peace Sensei's "brutal" illustrations - a stark contrast that makes her a fascinating character.
4th Place: Minazuki Sakura
Source: My Little Sister is Not My Little Sister ©2018 Ebisu Seiji, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
In fourth place is Minazuki Sakura, a second-year high school student. She's a promising new voice actress who has attracted attention, having been selected as the heroine in her debut work. She has good looks, a great voice, and impeccable acting skills - she's said to be flawless. Sakura is a huge fan of Towa no Chikai, and is absolutely determined to play the role of the younger sister heroine when Towa no Chikai's debut work, "A Story of a Little Sister Who Loves Her Big Brother Too Much and Gets in Trouble," is made into an anime. Because of this, she seems to be completely immersed in her role, calling Towa no Chikai (Nagami Yu) "Big Brother." Also, while Sakura gives the impression of being airheaded, she is actually quick-witted and seems to be a reliable person. That's another aspect of her charm.
Third Place: Mai Himuro
Source: My Little Sister is Not My Little Sister ©2018 Seiji Ebisu, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
Third place goes to Mai Himuro, the most beautiful girl at Yu Nagami's school. Boys at school say she has a "good, sulky expression," giving Mai a cool, unapproachable impression. But underneath her facade is a popular light novel author. Under the pen name Enryu Houra, she writes "Sky Magic Guardian," of which Yu is a big fan. When Eienno Chikai's "A Story of a Little Sister Who Loves Her Big Brother Too Much" won the grand prize, she read it out of curiosity and was so impressed that, while now, she's a fan of Eienno Chikai, she also seems to view him as a rival. She's said she's thoroughly researched Eienno Chikai (Yu), even his private life, and intends to make his work her own, making her a charming character. Mai is also a classic tsundere character. When Yu consulted her about introducing a new heroine to her work, Mai listened earnestly, but blushed as she replied, "I'm not planning on using this opportunity to completely figure out your preferences in girls!" That's another charming quality about her.
Second Place: Suzuka Nagami
Source: My Little Sister, But She's Not My Little Sister ©2018 Seiji Ebisu, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
Second place goes to the heroine, Suzuka Nagami, the younger sister of the main character, Yu Nagami. Although she is deeply in love with Yu, she lives her days hiding her feelings for him. One day, on a whim, she submits a piece titled "The Story of a Little Sister Who Loves Her Big Brother Too Much and Gets in Trouble," which wins the grand prize and marks her debut as a light novel author. However, because her father is a strict person and part-time work is prohibited at school, she asks Yu to act as light novel author in her place as Towa no Chikai. Yu somehow agrees, and this is an opportunity for Suzuka to struggle to get closer to Yu. She is extremely cute and charming when she goes on dates under the guise of "interviews" and tries to make her fantasies with Yu come true. Suzuka is a perfect girl with excellent grades and even serves as student council president. However, it seems that Suzuka also has her weaknesses, and when her editor suggested adding a "panty shot" scene, she said she didn't know what "panty shot" meant. She even went to Yu with a straight face to ask for advice. She does have a naive side to her.
1st Place: Nagami Yu
Source: My Little Sister is the One I Love, But She's Not My Little Sister ©2018 Ebisu Seiji, Gintaro/KADOKAWA/Imoimo Production Committee
First place goes to the protagonist, Nagami Yu. He became obsessed with light novels in middle school and has since become a total light novel otaku. His favorite author is Enryuu Hon (Himuro Mai), and his favorite is Sky Magic Garden. He has memorized many of the spells that appear in Sky Magic Garden, and sometimes even chants them while immersed in the work. Yuu's love of light novels has led him to write his own. While he is an ordinary high school student, he is passionate enough to apply for new writer's awards multiple times, and his dedication to his dream of becoming a light novel author is extremely appealing. Furthermore, when his younger sister, Nagami Suzuka, submitted a work on a whim under the pen name Towa no Chikai, it won the grand prize, leading to her debut as a light novel author. Due to various circumstances, it would be difficult for Suzuka to work as a writer, so Yuu asked him to work on her behalf as Towa no Chikai. At first, Yuu was hesitant to debut using someone else's work, but for his sister's sake, he agreed to act as her substitute. His caring attitude is also endearing.
