In the story of Goblin Slayer, proper nouns do not exist, and characters are referred to by their occupations. The Priestess is literally a female priestess and a new adventurer. As a novice adventurer, she sets out to hunt goblins, only to be annihilated instead. She's the character who travels alongside Goblin Slayer.
