A raccoon dog that appears several times in Non Non Biyori. Renge feeds the raccoon in her garden, and the name of the raccoon is "Guu". The place where the food bowl is placed also has "Guu's Plate" written on it, so it seems that she named it "Guu" with one kanji character. Natsumi was so shocked that she called it a "psychedelic name."

I whistled to signal Natsumi, and when I looked towards her expectantly, I saw the motionless figure of the ingredient... It seems that she had been given food, so she would come out when called, but she didn't seem to remember any tricks.
Renge names the crab she caught in the river "Osio"

Renge dives into the river and catches something with dynamic movements, like a bear catching salmon. In her hands she catches a small crab. She puts it in an insect cage filled with water and decides to keep it at home, but it has already been named "Salt" and Renge looks surprised when Natsumi tells her she has no naming sense.

Renge is in charge of keeping an observation diary for the horseshoe crabs at school, and there are several horseshoe crabs kept in the aquarium. Although they all look the same, Karenge is able to tell them apart and introduces the characteristics of each one to Natsumi. She observes the horseshoe crabs in detail, and when asked their names, they all say "Flat Taira-san."

One day, all the "Hirataira-san" died, and Renge was sad to make a grave for them. Hotaru suggested that they go and catch new horseshoe crabs, but Renge refused, saying, "It would be sad if they died." However, when she goes to school later, she finds the supposedly dead "Flat Taira-san" there. Natsumi says it's because it had laid eggs, but in reality it is thought to have been caught and prepared by Natsumi.
She names the cicada larva "That Higurashi"

Renge has never seen a cicada larva. When she first encounters a larva that looks different from a cicada, she freezes at first and looks confused, asking "Who is it...?" However, when Natsumi tells him that it is a cicada larva, he gets a little excited and picks it up, naming it "That Higurashi." Even Natsumi can't help but comment, "Don't name a cicada that."

A large carp that was kept in a pond. Looking at it, Renge says, "I want to give it a name." After that, she only had about five seconds to think about it... and when she was ready, she said the name "Hikarimonoyakata." It seems that she doesn't think carefully about the name, but rather decides on it intuitively.
Pechi is named "Hizakkkun"

This is Hotaru's first encounter with Pechi. She can't help but shout out "Dog!" out loud. Before she is introduced to the dog's name, she spreads her hands and says "Come on", but the name she reads out is not Pechi but "Hizakkkun". At first glance, she called Pechi "cute," and Renge thought "Hizakkkun" was a cute name.

Renge always gives strange names to animals, but the fact that she is so serious about them makes me worry. This time we introduced pets and other animals, but Renge also gives people unusual nicknames, such as calling Natsumi "Natsun" and Konomi "No need for a monster doctor." We can't wait to see what names Renge will give to new characters and animals that may appear in the future!
