The first episode of the anime depicts the reason why the main character, Kasumi Toyama, started a band, and Glitter*Green was a big influence on her. After her fateful encounter with the star-shaped guitar "Random Star," Toyama Kasumi immediately rushes to the live house "SPACE" with Ichigaya Arisa, witnessing a live performance with her own eyes for the first time and discovering the sparkling, exciting thing she had always been looking for: band activity.

Member Nana Wanibe teaches keyboard to Arisa Ichigaya, and Rii Uzawa also repairs guitars, and is involved with Poppin'Party in various ways. The popular band, also known by the nickname GriGri, is one of the most popular bands at SPACE, and when they are scheduled to perform live, fans flock to see them. Glitter*Green and Poppin'Party are charismatic bands that are worthy of being called charismatic bands, and they are closely connected, so they are worth paying attention to.

GlitterGreen's presence is huge even when watching the anime, and its greatest role was giving the protagonist, Kasumi Toyama, the opportunity to start a band. Her chance encounter with a Glitter Green concert, and the fact that Glitter Green delivered a stellar performance, convinced Kasumi Toyama that the band was what she was looking for. If Glitter Green hadn't performed at the concert, Kasumi Toyama might not have started a band.

Episode 3: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

After seeing Glitter*Green's live performance and becoming fascinated with it, Toyama Kasumi started to frequent SPAC. There, the members of Glitter*Green had trouble arriving at the venue late due to traffic congestion, so all the performers cooperated to try to save time. But despite their best efforts, Grigri was unable to make it in time, and Toyama Kasumi, unable to sit still any longer, recklessly ran onto the stage and began singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" a cappella.

Many fans were looking forward to Glitter*Green's appearance at SPACE, and Kasumi Toyama was one of them. However, despite her efforts to tweak the lineup and wait for their arrival, the time for the live to end came in vain. The fans were disappointed, but Toyama Kasumi's desire to see GriGri live and her strong desire to do something about it made her take to the stage. Thanks to her hard work, GriGri managed to get into the venue and start the show without any problems.

Until the members of GlitterGreen arrive, Toyama Kasumi sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" solo, Ichigaya Arisa holds a castanet in her hand, and Ushigome Rimi holds a bass to fill the time. Their hard work pays off as the long-awaited GlitterGri concert begins, during which they perform and sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" together with the three who filled in for them. The melody is also an arrangement, making this a great scene that shows off GlitterGreen's high level of performance ability.

In episode 5 of the anime, Poppin'Party's first live performance was shown, and the venue was the Ryuseido warehouse, which is their hangout and practice venue. The audience included Toyama Asuka and Ichigaya Arisa's grandmothers, Ushigome Yuri and Yamabuki Saya, who listened intently to Poppin'Party's performance. The song they performed, "My Heart is a Choco Cornet," is an original song written by Ushigome Rimi, and is a cute song filled with love for Choco Cornet.

Kasumi Toyama, Arisa Ichigaya, and Rimi Ushigome are practicing for their first live show, "Clive," but they run into a problem. Ichigaya Arisa had previously studied piano, and Ushigome Rimi had also been taught by her older sister, so they had no problems performing, but Toyama Kasumi was a complete amateur with no prior experience of playing an instrument. Although Toyama Kasumi was unable to read music, with the support of her friends she managed to master all the songs and somehow get them ready in time for the live performance.

Tae Hanazono initially intended to come to Clive as a spectator, but as she taught Kasumi Toyama how to play the guitar, she opened up to him and before she knew it, she was playing as one of the members. Since she had always played the guitar alone, this was the first time for Tae Hanazono to play with someone else. Because of this, even though Hanazono Tae is the best guitar player, she confessed that her hands shook the first time she performed in front of others.

At the Hanasakigawa Girls' Academy school festival live, the five members of Poppin'Party finally gather together. Until then, Yamabuki Saya had stubbornly refused to start a band, but with her mother's encouragement and Toyama Kasumi's earnest encouragement, she decided to pick up the drumsticks again. She runs from the hospital where her collapsed mother has been taken, and heads to school, listening to songs on her player as she does so. They somehow manage to make it in time to play the last song, "STAR BEAT! ~Hoshinokodo~," and Yamabuki Saya is shown flashing a beaming smile.

Because her mother was prone to falling ill, Yamabuki Saya quit the band once in middle school. After that, she started helping out at her family's bakery and taking the initiative in doing housework, and before she knew it, it became second nature. Although her father and she explain that it was not something she was particularly worried about, as she had often collapsed from anemia, the thought of what might have happened to her left her unable to sit still. As we can sense Saya Yamabuki's kindness, all the feelings she had been building up until then suddenly explode, allowing her to face what she really wants to do.

Before Poppin'Party performed, the band "CHiSPA," which includes Umino Natsuki and others who played in a band together in middle school with Yamabuki Saya, was performing and finished their performance well. As they finish their performance and leave, Yamabuki Saya arrives at the venue, where she resolves the tension between her and Umino Natsuki and the others. Having avoided Umino Natsuki for so long, Yamabuki Saya feels guilty, and as Umino Natsuki is also shy, it seems difficult for her to talk to her, but they manage to get their relationship back together.

With drummer Saya Yamabuki joining Poppin'Party, the five of them finally set their sights on performing at SPACE. However, due to their nervousness, their first attempt ended in failure, and although Toyama Kasumi performed with confidence, she was shocked when the owner told her that she was the worst. However, he overcame the difficulties and by his second and final audition, he had grown to the point where he was able to convince the owner.

Poppin'Party failed the first audition, but Toyama Kasumi, who received the most criticism, tried too hard and ended up losing her voice due to stress. With the decision to close SPACE coming into effect, Toyama Kasumi was feeling anxious, but to support her as she suffered both physically and mentally, the other four suggested that they share the singing parts. This was an attempt to ease her burden even a little, and Toyama Kasumi was moved to tears by her friends' feelings.

Poppin'Party gathers in a circle right before the performance to get pumped up, determined to give it their all in the second audition. After the performance, Ichigaya Arisa broke down in tears due to some mistakes, and the other members looked similarly dejected. As it crossed their minds that they would no longer be able to perform on the SPACE stage, the owner once again asked Toyama Kasumi, "Did you give it your all?" Toyama Kasumi answered in tears, and received the news that she had passed.

Episode 13 depicts the final live show of SPACE, and is a spectacular show featuring all the bands that have appeared in the anime so far. Glitter*Green opened with their usual call, "Are you ready to play?", and started their performance by stirring up the excitement in the venue. They performed their new song "Glee! Glee! Glee!", and the standing audience seemed to be enjoying themselves by waving green glow sticks.

Episode 13: Be shine, shining!/ CHiSPA

Next to appear after Glitter*Green are Umino Natsuki and the rest of CHiSPA, and in the final episode of the anime, they will be performing their own songs for the first time. It's a shame that we don't get to hear their singing voices clearly in the film, and instead get a close-up look at the expressions of the Poppin'Party members as they wait backstage. However, the desire to shine, as embodied in the title, is well conveyed, and it adds a touch of glamour to SPACE's final live performance.

CHiSPA was one of the first to pass the audition

CHiSPA passed the audition before Poppin'Party. The owner harshly criticized the bass for the rhythm and for the keyboard and guitar for being too fast, but at the end he asked the members if they had done their best. Although they were keenly aware of their immaturity as pointed out, the CHiSPA members unanimously declared that they had given it their all, and were successful in securing a place to perform at the live show.

Episode 13: Dreaming Sunflower/ Poppin'Party

The song that became Poppin'Party's last live performance in the TV anime was "Dreaming Sunflower", and before the performance, they talked about the events that led from the formation of Poppin'Party to standing on the stage at SPACE. Once they started playing, there was not the slightest sign of nervousness on any of their faces, and they were all very happy despite it being their first time performing on a big stage, and the audience seemed to respond by getting excited. The owner, who had given them such harsh words, also seemed pleased with Poppin'Party's performance as they took to the stage with a bright smile, and the show came to a close with a round of applause.

This was Poppin Party's first big stage performance at SPACE, and Hanazono Tae had the idea to form a huddle. This led to the creation of the chant "Popipa! Pipopapopapapapipopa!", which the members apparently use in real live performances. Although the huddle took place backstage, they were shouting loud enough to reverberate throughout the venue for everyone to hear. It was clear that they had poured their energy into it, and it really showed how passionate Poppin'Party was.

Poppin'Party, who will be performing "Yume Miru Sunflower", will start with a brief introduction that includes an episode leading up to their formation. They also confess their individual stories, such as the realization of their goal of performing at SPACE, Yamabuki Saya who had always wanted to play the drums, and Ichigaya Arisa who had left music due to exams. They also reminisce about the various experiences they had during performances, practice, and studying in between, and once you've finished watching, you'll understand that this live performance can be considered the culmination of Poppin'Party.

OVA: August If/ Poppin'Party

An OVA was made as a sequel to the TV anime, and Poppin'Party also performed live there. The setting was a beach house, and they debuted "August If" with twin vocals by Toyama Kasumi and Yamabuki Saya. Not only is it a song that evokes the melancholy of summer, but it's also a rare scene to see drummer Saya Yamabuki standing at the front and singing. You can also encounter Roselia, who made a brief appearance in the TV anime, and don't miss the various stories that unfold on the sea stage.

The reason why Poppin'Party and the others went to the beach was because of Yamabuki Saya's suggestion, and it was very rare to hear a suggestion from her, who usually acts as the band's leader and older sister. This shows that the members are all friends she can trust, and Yamabuki Saya probably feels that she doesn't need to be on edge when she's with Poppin'Party. At Saya Yamabuki's request, all five members of Poppin'Party go to the beach together.

A rare scene where you can see Yamabuki Saya having fun

Perhaps because there are fewer scenes depicted in the TV anime overall, the OVA depicts various expressions of Yamabuki Saya, making it a must-see for fans who support her. On the day of going to the beach, Yamabuki Saya appears in a slightly over-the-top fashion and is teased by Ichigaya Arisa. Of course, everyone except Yamabuki Saya was enjoying the time, and it was a rare sight to see the indoor-type Ichigaya Arisa showing such an innocent expression.

Roselia and the others also decided to play at the beach

The Poppin'Party group came to the beach, and by chance, the five members of Roselia, who were nearby for band practice, were there. They ended up playing together, and the members mixed together to play beach volleyball. Roselia seemed to have hit a dead end in their intense practice, so having fun with Poppin'Party, even if it was just by chance, must have been a nice way to let off some steam. As proof of this, Minato Yukina had a rare bright and cheerful look on her face, and she watched Poppin'Party's live performance afterwards with a gentle expression.
