Despite being a one-liner among many unique characters in the series, Anchovy made a strong impression on viewers and quickly became one of the most popular characters after appearing in the OVA. Anchovy's high school, Anzio High School, is also a very unique and fun-loving school. This time, we'll introduce you to Anchovy and Anzio High School.

Anchovy, a big sister type who cares about her subordinates

Her real name is "Chiyomi Anzai," and she is the tank captain at the Italian-style Anzio High School. Originally attending another high school in Aichi Prefecture, she was scouted to revitalize the Anzio tank team, which was in decline. She is characterized by her drill twin hairstyle, a cape draped over her uniform, and a whip-like baton. She has a bright and lively personality. She also cares for her subordinates, worrying about injuries sustained by reckless teammates during matches and frequently throwing parties with them to deepen their friendships. Her personality has earned her affection and earned her the nicknames "Big Sister" and "Duce" (Italian for "commander" or "leader"). She is a skilled cook and occasionally treats the team members to her home-cooked meals. She also has a very sociable personality, and will invite not only the team members but also opposing players and staff involved in the match to parties after games to deepen their friendships.

Anchovy is a Surprisingly Hardworking Person

Anchovy is loved by her teammates, but they themselves are so free-spirited that they prioritize food over practice. The team is also extremely poor, and they have trouble maintaining their vehicles. Even during matches, the team members quickly forget their strategies or make mistakes, resulting in failure. However, Anchovy's leadership skills are strong, leading the team to compete in the national tournament and even making it past the first round. He also puts in a lot of effort, such as saving money for generations and finally purchasing a P40 during Anchovy's generation. In the main story, they were portrayed as a strong and troublesome opponent, but the actual match only featured one scene, with Anchovy having no lines, leading to poor treatment from fans and officials. (He did, however, play a major role in the subsequent OVA, redeeming himself...)

Poor but cheerful and energetic! Anzio High School

This high school has a strong Italian atmosphere, as its founder is Italian. The school is also home to Italian-style buildings such as a clock tower and the Colosseum, which are used for school events. The students are free-spirited and easygoing. They put a lot of effort into food, and the cafeteria lunches are so popular that they sell out quickly. The school as a whole is short on funds and the internal budget is small, so various committees and clubs set up their own stalls to supplement their budget. Incidentally, in the spin-off work "Ribbon Warrior," it is said that this is the high school that junior high school students most want to attend, and that it is an extremely popular school. Will the increase in student numbers help them escape poverty?

Anzio High School Tankery: Energetic and Motivated

The Tankery Team is also struggling with financial difficulties. However, the members are all energetic and enthusiastic, and are known for being "formidable opponents if they get too cocky." The team members have an aura reminiscent of Showa-era delinquents, and speak in a slightly bad-boy manner, using "-ssu" expressions. They possess a large number of Italian tanks, including the CV-33, Semovente, and P40. Within the regulations of Sensha-do, these tanks have low performance and firepower, and are significantly inferior in terms of armor. Despite this, they excel at tactics that make use of their mobility, with the CV-33 as their main weapon. This led to their victory in the first round of the national tournament against Maginot Girls' Academy. In the second round, they also utilize their good footwork to deploy a strategy, but as mentioned above, their carelessness ruins their own strategy and they are defeated.

Anzio and Anchovy: Going Their Own Way

The Anzio students are poor and have a hard time, but they don't let that bother them and just enjoy themselves. Even in tank battles, they don't worry about the details, just fight with momentum and don't care about the results. Once the game is over, it's over, and it's a lively school with a good vibe that never misses a beat and never misses out on interacting with the opposing team. Anchovy seems to be thinking about changing the mindset of the members regarding "eating over practice and games," but he's laid back and says, "Come on, we'll do it." Even when he came to cheer on Oarai in the final, he made a blunder by oversleeping at the banquet the day before because he was making too much noise. Anchovy has really taken on the colors of Anzio High School. We hope to see him continue to wreak havoc in the future.
