Darling in the Franxx began airing as an anime in winter 2018. Its grand, mysterious world is filled with giant, mysterious life forms known as klaxosaurs. They repeatedly appear before the protagonists and begin attacking humans. There are many different types of klaxosaurs, enemies of humans, so we'll introduce them all here.

What exactly are klaxosaurs?

Kyouryu are mysterious giant life forms that attack humans, including the protagonist Hiro. To fight them, humans create parasites and develop Franxx. Kyouryu attack in response to the new energy source, magma fuel, which humans use as an energy source. To repel them, the core located somewhere within their bodies must be completely destroyed. It is a lifeform still shrouded in mystery.

Even Klaxosaurs Have Classes!

Klaxosaurs vary in size and shape, and there are many different types. Classes are determined by size. Even within the same class, strength and abilities vary.

Condrad-class Klaxosaur.

They are slightly smaller than Franxx and have lower individual abilities and strength, but they form swarms and attack in numbers, so you can't let your guard down. They can also be expelled from the bodies of larger Klaxosaurs.

A klaxosaur appears at a magma fuel excavation site. Its distinctive features include a round, budded head and an octopus-like mouth. They're extremely agile and can appear from anywhere, making them extremely troublesome.

Several individuals gather and fuse to form larger individuals. A single blow from Strelizia successfully destroys their core, repelling them.

Klaxosaurs in Episode 6

Appearing in large hordes, led by Gudenberg-class monsters. They resemble small machines, with large heads and four legs that move around. These klaxosaurs are extremely agile and difficult to repel.

Klaxosaur from Episode 11

A klaxosaur formed from the severed part of a Gudenberg-class monster. It has a cushion-like shape and four legs have been confirmed. Individuals are weak.

Mohorovicic-class Klaxosaur

Larger than the Konrad-class, it is a medium-sized Klaxosaur. It is often referred to as the "Moho-class."

It is characterized by its huge head and small limbs.

More than twice the size of a Franxx, it can emit powerful beams from the mouth of its gigantic head. One shot was blocked by Strelitzia, but it sustained significant damage. Thanks to the efforts of Hiro and Zero Two, it was successfully repelled.

Klaxosaurs in Episode 12

While these are small among the Moho-class monsters, they possess a quadrupedal, beast-like appearance and excel at swift movement. Furthermore, they travel in packs, making them extremely troublesome.

Gutenberg-Class Klaxosaur

This Klaxosaur is incredibly large and possesses powerful fighting power. To defeat it, multiple Franxx must work together. It can also transform into various forms, adapting to suit the situation.

A giant klaxosaur that appears aiming to cause inter-city kissing. When it appears, it has a square shape specialized for movement.

When it enters attack mode, it transforms into a humanoid bipedal form and approaches the plantation.

Considering Strelitzia as a threat, it transformed into an attack-specialized form, transforming its head into a hammer shape and striking Strelitzia.

Klaxosaur from Episode 9

A jellyfish-like klaxosaur containing explosive liquid. It attacks by spitting out bomb-like spheres. It ingests the Delphinium carrying Goro, but Goro decides to detonate the Delphinium's energy pack, repelling it.

Klaxosaur from Episode 11

This klaxosaur resembles a quadrupedal anteater. Severed parts regenerate into smaller klaxosaurs. Its regenerative abilities are so impressive that attacks cannot reach its core, making it difficult to defeat. The combined attack of the 13th City Unit and Strelizia's attacks was repelled.

Super Lehmann-class Klaxosaur

The largest of the Klaxosaurs. It is so large that it appears to move mountains. It has enough power to flip a plantation upside down on its own, and it spits out smaller Klaxosaurs from its body. It possessed multiple cores, making it nearly impossible to repel. However, thanks to the awakening of Hiro and Zero Two, Strelizia's performance was significantly improved, allowing it to be repelled.

Worm-Type Klaxosaur

A klaxosaur resembling a snake that moves underground. Its head is shaped like an electric shaver, and its tail is claw-shaped.

Multi-Headed Klaxosaur

This klaxosaur has multiple crocodile-like heads. It attacks by spitting out a liquid that dissolves the Parasite Suit. No direct damage has been confirmed.

Mad Hand

A giant hand appears from the Glen Crevasse. Details are shrouded in mystery, but the Nines seem to know more, citing cryptic lines like, "It reacted right away!"
