Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu Arc Synopsis and New Characters

First, the story of Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu goes back in time to Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru's time at high school. This is the story of the past, which led to the separation of Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru, as depicted at the end of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie. Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru, second-year students at Jujutsu Technical College and the strongest duo yet also problem children, are tasked with protecting and erasing a Star Award-winning girl named Amanai Riko in order to assimilate her into Tengen-sama and initialize her. However, a group of curse users called "Q" and the Banseikyo religious group, the "Time Vessel Society," are trying to stop Amanai Riko's life in an attempt to prevent the assimilation. The Time Vessel Society has asked Fushiguro Touji to assassinate Amanai Riko. And so the battle for power unfolds.

Amanai Riko

She is a Star-Born girl with the ability to assimilate with Tengen-sama and reset her body. She is aware of this and bravely insists that "my soul will live on even after assimilation," but she is just an ordinary middle school girl. She regrets not being able to see her loved ones and losing her fun-filled daily life. Riko's parents passed away when she was young, and she lives with her caretaker, Misato Kuroi. Because she was raised believing herself to be special, she treats Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru with a haughty attitude. However, when she's with her friends, she's a completely normal 14-year-old girl. Her favorite food is Kuroi's pot-au-feu. She wears a bandana and pigtails, and Satoru calls her an "aggressive brat."

She is the caretaker for the Star Prize and the only family member for Riko Amano, who lost her parents at a young age. The Kuroi family has been bound by the tradition of serving the Star Award for generations, but he decided to avoid it and went to junior college, but he returned because he was attracted to Riko. When a bounty was placed on Riko's head and she was attacked, he stood up to her and ended up kidnapped instead.

What is the enemy Curse-User Group Q?

Curse-User Group Q is trying to kill Riko Amano and interfere with Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru's mission. We'll explain why they're trying to kill her.

What is Curse-User Group Q?

Amanai Riko Falling Upside Down

As their name suggests, they are a group of sorcerers who plot to overthrow the current Jujutsu world through the rampage of Lord Tengen. Once every 500 years, Lord Tengen assimilates with a Star-Bearing Being like Lord Tengen, resetting it and rewriting its physical information, preventing it from evolving into a higher-order being, no longer human. If it were to evolve and become a higher-order being, it would lose Lord Tengen's will, and in the worst case scenario, could become an enemy of humanity. Naturally, this influence would have an impact on the Jujutsu world, which is why they are aiming to overthrow it.

Ko-kun

A fighter in "Q," he attempts to assassinate Riko Amano by dropping her from a building with an explosion, but is thwarted by Geto Suguru. In the next turn, he quits "Q" and asks for help, saying he will grow rice in the countryside.

Baieru

He challenges Gojo Satoru to a fight, asking him to prove the rumors that he's strong are true, but is beaten to a pulp by Gojo Satoru on the next turn.

Bannseikyo "Time Vessel Association"

This is a religious group that is trying to kill Riko Amano.

Why are they trying to kill Riko Amano?

Gojo Satoru carrying Riko Amano

The Banseikyo is a religious organization that worships Tengen-sama. Why would such a religious organization try to kill her? It's because they worship the pure Tengen-sama. In other words, they consider the Seikyotai to be impure, and so they are trying to assassinate Riko Amano. Since the Banseikyo itself is a group of non-sorcerers, Gojo Satoru and his men are wary of Q, but the Banseikyo commissions Fushiguro Jinji to carry out the assassination.

Fushiguro Touji

Introducing himself as Fushiguro Touji

After the Bankseikyo confided in him that he wanted to assassinate Riko Amano, he put a 30 million yen bounty on her and exhausted Gojo Satoru until the deadline expired. Once the deadline expired, he planned to attack when she let her guard down and then carry out the assassination. As his name suggests, he is Megumi Fushiguro's father. However, he himself has no cursed energy, so he doesn't get along well with the Zen'in family (he married into the family, so he takes the Fushiguro surname, but it's a Zen'in family name). He also loves gambling, has no money, and lives off his family. He's also a total loser, abandoning his son and disappearing after Megumi's mother dies.

New Characters at Jujutsu High School

Tsukumo Yuki

Aoi Toudou's master. He has a habit of asking people he meets for the first time about their preferred type of partner. Todo Aoi's preferred type of person and the standard phrases he uses when meeting someone for the first time were also influenced by his master, Tsukumo Yuki. The words he spoke to Geto Suguru before he fell into darkness were one of the reasons why he chose to become a sorcerer.

Yuu Haibara

Yuu Haibara's full body and upper body

He was a junior of Geto Suguru from their high school days, and even he himself says he's not the type to think things through too deeply. He seems to be very honest and confident in his judgment of people. His death during a mission marked the beginning of Todo Aoi's descent into darkness.

Kaigyoku Tamaori Arc Summary

Kaigyoku is a story in which Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru are tasked with protecting the Seikyotai, and while it's a story that conveys strength and kindness, Gojo Satoru changes, evolves, and becomes even stronger. In Tamaori, Geto Suguru, in stark contrast to Gojo Satoru, falls into darkness, becoming a curse user and polarizing the two. This story is not to be missed, as it also features characters from his days at high school, such as Nanami and Diva, who are different from those in the current story.
