The second season of The Vampire Dies in No Time, which was made into an anime in 2021, is set to air from January 2023! Draluc, a high-ranking vampire who is so weak he dies quickly despite being a terrible vampire, and Ronald, a vampire slayer, team up by chance and interact with a variety of eccentric characters in Shin-Yokohama, where perverted vampires are rampant. This fast-paced comedy anime with an incredible amount of content was also very well-received! I'd like to look back on the content of the first season of The Vampire Dies in No Time and share my thoughts on it!
Episode 1: The Exterminator Comes and Flies in the Sky
A child gets lost in the mansion of the vampire Draluc, which was built on the outskirts of the city. Then comes Ronald, a vampire exterminator. Just as it seems a terrifying battle with the vampire is about to begin, the vampire Draluc is caught in the door Ronald opens and dies. Draluc is a shitty vampire who dies quickly at every opportunity, and the rumors have been expanded and even used to promote the town, making it difficult to talk about. Of course, the child was not kidnapped, and the child was just coming to Draluc Castle to play a game.
Episode 1②
This child is a very troublesome kid, and after running around Draluc Castle on a kickboard because he was afraid of being scolded when he got home, he somehow ends up detonating the castle's traps and causing the Demon King's castle to collapse. This kid will appear later as the kickboard kid. When I hear the kickboard kid, I think of the turban kid from Fist of the North Star. Part A of Episode 1 is the first episode of the original work, and it took 15 minutes to carefully create it. The original work packs as much material as it can into one frame, so the anime is fast-paced but carefully breaks down the content.
Episode 1③
After his castle collapses and he becomes homeless, Draluc searches the internet, finds Ronald's office, and moves in. Naturally, Ronald tries to kick him out, but suddenly the convenience store manager appears at the office and asks Ronald for help. The manager's son has become a pseudo-vampire and is barricading himself inside.
However, he is rejected by the girl he was holding hostage in the most brutal way possible, resulting in a major defeat. That's really sad. I guess pseudo-vampires can be cured with an injection.
Episode 2 Attack!! Fukuma-san
In episode 1, Ronald wrote an autobiography called Ronald War Chronicles. It didn't seem to sell well, but it's actually selling quite well and the second volume has been decided to be released. However, Ronald is panicked because the manuscript is not ready. In fact, Fukuma-san, the editor in charge, is the strongest character in the story and is usually gentle, but he is merciless to those who break the deadline. Ronald is unable to escape and ends up being trapped in the Iron Maiden, writing the second volume... I wonder if the model is the editor in charge?
Episode 2②
He is called by his fellow exterminator Satetsu, who wants him to capture a certain vampire. The vampire seems to be able to freely control plants, but Draluc, who has followed him, acts alone to outwit Ronald. Although he is mistakenly killed by a child he meets in the park, Draluc discovers the vampire in question. The vampire was a high-level vampire called "Zenranium" who was completely naked, wearing a cloak, and hiding his crotch with geranium flowers! The voice actor is Akio Otsuka. He is certainly a naked character, though.
Episode 2③
Hinaichi from the Vampire Countermeasures Division came to Ronald's office! Apparently she came to investigate Draluc, who was attached to the office, but Ronald didn't want to be noticed. He tried to kill Draluc somehow and get away with it. This is Hinaichi's first appearance! At first, I thought she was a heroine-like figure...
Episode 3: The Guild of Silly Revelers
After retreating from Ronald's office, Hinaichi appeals to her boss that Draluc may be a dangerous person, and is once again assigned to watch duty. Hinaichi, who was watching Draluc, becomes even more vigilant when she sees that Draluc dies immediately when something happens, thinking that it is a capable hawk hiding its claws, but in the end she comes to the conclusion that Draluc is just a shitty vampire and that she was the fool. She only had a heroine-like quality in her first appearance... and from now on she will establish herself as a comic relief character.
Episode 3②
Ronald and Draluc come to the vampire hunter's guild. There, hunters dressed in various costumes have gathered. However, hunters don't dress like that just for show or out of curiosity. Surprisingly, they are in the business of popularity, and if they don't stand out, they will be quickly snatched away. Meanwhile, Signha Siliski, a hunter who captures vampires and trains them to her liking, takes a liking to Draluc and says she wants to make him her own. The winner of the five-round match will team up with Draluc, but Ronald, who wants to get rid of Draluc, has no motivation.
Episode 3③
Ronald wanted to lose on purpose to get rid of Draluc, but he suddenly got a call from Fukuma, and his pair with Draluc became popular, and if they were no longer a pair, Fukuma would kill him, so Ronald was forced to fight seriously. Vampires in this world are all perverts, oddballs, and eccentrics, but exterminators are similar.
Episode 4: The Man's Name is Handa
A strange animal comes to Ronald's office to talk about its troubles. The strange animal has the ability to transform, but because it usually thinks about erotic things, its ability goes out of control and it becomes a strange form. In the end, instead of suppressing the eroticism, they decide to overload it with eroticism, but it fails because Hinaichi rushes to the scene after receiving a report. A one-liner that goes all out with a furious momentum! This momentum feels good!
Episode 4②
All the vegetables sent by Autumn Bookstore have turned into vampires! ? Draluc, who is actually a good cook, tries to somehow turn them into edible food, but the ingredients are so unpalatable that there is nothing he can do about it. Meanwhile, the vegetables continue to spread and multiply, and the room becomes covered in vegetable vampires.
Episode 4③
A man named Handa has come from the Vampire Countermeasures Division! Handa was a classmate of Ronald's in high school, and he resents Ronald and always picks fights with him...or rather, he's like a stalker of Ronald.
Why does Handa hate Ronald so much?...It's because Handa's mother (who is a vampire and young and beautiful) became a big fan of the fight against Ronald after becoming obsessed with it. Handa starts looking for a house to find out Ronald's weakness... Handa-kun, a yandere mother-complex stalker, has his brain destroyed and the window glass is also destroyed... But he is usually a capable man.
Episode 5: Tsujisagiri Nagiri's Longest Day
The terrifying vampire Tsujisagiri Nagiri has arrived in Shin-Yokohama! Tsujisagiri Nagiri is an immortal vampire as long as his spirit body is not damaged. He seemed like a typical villain character, but when his spirit body is accidentally discovered by John and Draluc, he quickly climbs the ladder to becoming a comic relief character. The residents of Shin-Yokohama are extremely strong against decent people.
Episode 5②
A stray cat from the neighborhood, Bosatsu, has wandered into the attic of the office. Together with Hinaichi, a bored man who happened to be there, they try to catch Bosatsu, but it turns out that Bosatsu is a vampire cat who can control hypnosis and has a grand and dangerous ideology of trying to make all of humanity love cats! He's an arrogant cat, but his character voice also sounds like it could destroy a planet.
Episode 5③
Handa Momo, the mother-con Dampir of the Countermeasures Division who hates Ronald, has come back again! Draluc casually listens to her high school days, hands her a projector and a thick document, and the past of their feud is revealed. It turns out that Handa has always had a stalker-like temperament and has repeatedly caused various troubles and harassment. Even without the incident with his mother, it seems that he hasn't changed much from the past to the present.
Episode 6: The Draluc Family
One day, a vampire runs into the office. The vampire was trying to pick up a cute girl, but ended up catching the megaton-class landmine girl next to him. The landmine girl was an incredible presence that appeared anywhere with incredible drive, but while running away from her, he almost got run over by a car. Honestly, even if it was voiced by Kana Hanazawa, she's scarier than a vampire! But it turned out to be an unexpected development.
Episode 6②
Ronald is invited to Draluc's New Year's party and attends to keep an eye on him. Draluc tells his relatives random things, and as a result, Ronald is said to be a pole dancer. Moreover, Draluc has not told anyone that the castle has disappeared, so it is a topic of concern for Ronald. Ronald tries to get out of the situation somehow, but then Draluc's grandfather, the strongest vampire ancestor, appears.
Episode 6③
The True Ancestor is the strongest and most troublesome vampire. He has the power of an elementary school student, but everything he does is on a grand scale, making him an incredible presence that makes all of his relatives go crazy just to kill time. And then, the True Ancestor prepares a ridiculous game of sugoroku with instant death for Ronald and his relatives... Since the True Ancestor is the strongest vampire, his voice actor is Nakata Jouji, who has a connection to vampires. He himself knows the work, and apparently thought that if he was going to play this character, he would play it.
【The Vampire Dies in No Time 2】Review of Season 1, Summary of the First Half
I've summarized the contents and thoughts on Season 1 of The Vampire Dies in No Time! In the original work, it was a super-speedy, super-high-tempo work with a huge amount of material, but in the anime, each episode was carefully directed, which was interesting in its own way! The contents of the second half are also summarized, so please check it out!
