We would like to introduce the main characters of "Tokyo Revengers."
Character 1: The Protagonist Who Time-Leaps Repeatedly: Takemichi Hanagaki
The protagonist of this work is a 26-year-old part-time worker who has led a life of failure. While working part-time at a video rental store and enduring power harassment from the younger manager, one day he hears the news that his former lover, Hinata Tachibana, has been killed in a criminal gang conflict. He then gets pushed off a train platform by an unknown assailant, and immediately finds himself time-leaping 12 years into the past.
Who is Takemichi Hanagaki?
He admired delinquents and was a delinquent himself in middle school, but when he got too cocky and challenged a student from another school, he was beaten back. From then on, he became a low-ranking member of the motorcycle gang "Tokyo Manji Gang." He was weak at fighting and lacked courage. He originally intended to run away from that environment, but he resolved to change the fate of Hinata and his friends, and developed the mental strength to face even unbeatable foes and never give up. His actions influenced many people and changed their tragic fates.
Character 2: Naoto Tachibana, the heroine's younger brother who became a detective to save his sister
The younger brother of the heroine, Hinata Tachibana, Naoto becomes Takemichi's reliable partner in the present. Originally destined to die in an accident with Hinata, his fate changed thanks to Takemichi's advice, which traveled back in time, and he became a detective to save his sister. After becoming a detective, Naoto proves to be an extremely reliable presence, utilizing the police network to obtain necessary information and support Takemichi. The trigger for the time leap is shaking hands with Naoto; if Naoto is not alive, the time leap will be impossible.
Character 3: Hinata Tachibana, Takemichi's ex-girlfriend who dies 12 years later
Takemichi's middle school girlfriend. She was destined to die in a conflict with the Tokyo Manji Gang, a criminal organization. Takemichi travels back and forth between the past and the present to change her fate. She was a kind-hearted and strong-willed woman, but for some reason, she was involved in an accident and died 12 years later. Why changing the future doesn't change her death is a major plot twist in the story.
Character 4: Sano Manjiro, "Invincible Mikey," Leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang
12 years into the future, the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, a motorcycle gang that has become the worst criminal organization. Nicknamed Mikey, he possesses overwhelming charisma and fighting skills so strong he is considered invincible, making him the leader of the criminal organization in the future world as well. However, Mikey in the past was not a villain. Why Mikey became the leader of a criminal organization is closely related to Hinata's death. He is one of the key figures in this work.
What kind of person is Manjiro Sano?
He's a character with overwhelming charisma and fighting prowess, but in his private life he's lazy and laid-back. Traumatized by an incident that resulted in the loss of his family, he's mentally immature and not the type of person who would willingly commit a crime. However, he is vulnerable to committing a crime if given the opportunity, and he has an unstable personality that can easily turn to either good or evil.
Character 5: Ryuguji Ken, Vice-Captain of Tokyo Manji Gang and Mikey's Reliable Partner
The vice-captain of Tokyo Manji Gang, nicknamed Draken, is Mikey's right-hand man. He rivals Mikey in fighting strength and also serves as Mikey's emotional support. Despite his tall stature and intimidating appearance, and despite his family circumstances forcing him to live in a rented room in a brothel, he is a man of great character who never resorts to violence against strangers, and is willing to put his life on the line for his friends and even bow his head.
What is the fate of Ryuguji Ken?
In the first future, he is already deceased. His death in a conflict 12 years ago was considered a major cause of Mikey's and Toman's deterioration. However, after Takemichi averted his fate, he committed an incident and is now on death row.
Character ⑥: Toman's Number Two in the Future: Kisaki Tetta
The number two in the future Tokyo Manji Gang. 12 years ago, he was a leader of a biker gang called Aimi Aishu, and later joined Toman. Early on, he was considered the main cause of Toman's deterioration, and he becomes the main antagonist in the story. He is driven by a specific goal, and most of the various conflicts that occur throughout the story are orchestrated by Kisaki. He uses any means necessary to carry out his plans, dangling money and violence to manipulate others, ultimately turning Toman into the most vicious criminal organization. He shows an abnormal obsession with Takemichi, Mikey, and Hinata.
The Strongest Brain in the Series
He was originally called a child prodigy, and is a highly capable character with devilish people-management skills, drive, and execution. No matter how many times Takemichi changes the future, the worst possible future remains, thanks to Kisaki's exceptional skill. Conversely, even after Takemichi changes the future, he continues to revise his plans and paint the picture he wants.
Character 7: Toman First Division Captain, Keisuke Baji
One of the founding members of Toman, he was a childhood friend of Mikey and attended the same dojo. When Kisaki joined Toman, he rebelled and joined another team, but in fact, he was the first to notice Kisaki's secret activities and worked to thwart her plans. He is inherently a very caring person. In the original future, he is murdered by a certain person, causing Mikey to lose control...
Character 8: Toman First Division Vice Captain, Matsuno Chifuyu
The vice captain of First Division deeply respects and admires Baji. When Baji left Toman and joined another team, Chifuyu was used as a stepping stone and beaten to a pulp, but she realized Baji's intentions and her trust in him never wavered.
