"Dr. Stone" is a sci-fi survival manga written by Inagaki Riichiro and illustrated by Boichi, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2017. The first season of the anime aired from July to December 2019, with the second season scheduled to begin in January 2021. Senku, the protagonist, is obsessed with science and conducts experiments almost daily in high school. One day, Senku's friend, Taiju, summons Magari to a camphor tree to confess his feelings. Suddenly, the Earth is enveloped in a mysterious light, and all of humanity is petrified. Taiju wakes up to find himself in a Stone World where human civilization has been wiped out. Taiju is the only survivor in this world, and it is Senku, a boy researching chemistry, who brings him back to life. Having lost everything in the Stone World, Senku and Taiju resolve to save all of humanity and rebuild civilization from scratch. This time, we'll introduce the strongest characters in the Stone World in a ranking format.
10th Place: Magma
In 10th place is Magma, the superhuman strength of Ishigami Village. In terms of strength alone, there are few who can match Magma. However, his slow speed and limited intelligence are fatal in this survival world. While he far surpasses Chrome in terms of sheer strength, he ultimately lost, so he's ranked 10th.
9th Place: Kamii Yo
9th place goes to Yo, a prison guard at the Tsukasa Empire. He aspires to a higher position in the Tsukasa Empire, but ends up digging his own grave and letting Chrome escape. He seems a bit of a fool and not very strong, but before being petrified, he was a police officer and a skilled fighter, having won the arrest techniques and baton divisions. Like Magma, he doesn't seem very smart, and Chrome has let him escape, so he's in 9th place.
8th Place: Chrome
8th place goes to Chrome, not a sorcerer from Ishigami Village, but a scientist from the Kingdom of Science. After meeting Senku, his scientific knowledge skyrockets, and he's grown to the point where he can create his own scientific gadgets. While his combat abilities aren't great, he's smart and can fight to a certain extent with the right tools. While he can't beat the people ranked higher, he does manage to beat Magma and Yo? That's why he's in 8th place.
7th Place: Kinro
7th place goes to Kinro, the overly earnest gatekeeper of Ishigami Village. While he doesn't have outstanding power or speed, his fundamental abilities are above average. He's become even stronger through intensive training with Kohaku. Kinro is extremely nearsighted and can't even judge distance, so he couldn't even beat Magma, but Kinro, wearing glasses, was no match for Magma. His younger brother, Ginro, is naturally not ranked, but his older brother is ranked 7th.
6th Place: Momiji Homura
6th place goes to Homura, the scout and liaison officer for the Tsukasa Empire. Skilled in using props and skilled in gymnastics, Homura toyed with her opponents with ninja-like movements. Her movements and speed were extraordinary, astonishing Kohaku and Kinrou. She pledged her loyalty solely to Hyougetsu, and would carry out any kill orders he issued without hesitation. Despite her high combat and survival skills, Homura was ultimately captured by the Kingdom of Science, resulting in her 6th place ranking.
5th Place: Kohaku
In fifth place is Kohaku, the leader of the Science Kingdom's power team. Though she's sometimes described as a lioness or a gorilla, she's the beautiful and graceful younger sister of Ruri, and is both adorable and beautiful. She boasts the fastest speed in the Science Kingdom and excels in close combat. With her Japanese sword at her disposal, Kohaku is extremely reliable. While she doesn't know much about science, she's quick-witted in combat and has exceptional survival skills. However, the top players are in a class of their own, so she's ranked fifth.
4th Place: Ukyo Saionji
4th place goes to Ukyo, a lookout for the Tsukasa Empire. Before being petrified, he worked as a sonarman on a submarine for the Japan Self-Defense Forces and possesses superhuman hearing. His hearing and archery skills earned him the No. 3 spot in the Tsukasa Empire. He can discern what's happening from the slightest sound and can pierce enemies at long range with precise archery. Chrome and the other members of the assault team struggled mightily against Ukyo. While no one can match him in long-range combat, his powers are insufficient when the distance is closed. Furthermore, the kind-hearted Ukyo, who doesn't want anyone to die, is no match for Hyotsuki or Tsukasa.
3rd Place: Hyotsuki
Third place goes to Hyotsuki, the ruthless and cruel No. 2 of the Tsukasa Empire. Hyotsuki's attacks, using a special weapon called a lance, are difficult to gauge the distance between them and are extremely challenging to counter. Even the full military might of the Kingdom of Science was no match for Hyotsuki. His basic abilities are also significantly higher, and Hyotsuki, using a lance, is comparable in combat power to Tsukasa. However, Hyotsuki's strength is only possible with his lance, and without it, he would be no match for Tsukasa. He knows this, which is why he didn't engage in combat with Tsukasa until he discovered a weakness.
2nd Place: Tsukasa Shishio
Second place goes to Tsukasa, the leader of the Tsukasa Empire and Senku's archenemy. As the strongest primate high school student, it goes without saying that he is superior in terms of military strength. His power, speed, and technique are all top-notch, and he even stopped a crossbow shot fired by Senku at over 200 kilometers per hour with his bare hands. His dynamic visual acuity is also incredible! Tsukasa has many followers but no allies, meaning he has nothing to lose. He's also incredibly capable of killing people for his goals, making him a monster with no weaknesses. However, even Tsukasa was powerless against the scientific weapon, dynamite. While he would definitely be No. 1 if it were just force alone, he came in second place overall.
1st Place: Ishigami Senku
The honorable first place goes to Senku, the protagonist of the story and founder of the Kingdom of Science. He has all scientific knowledge stored in his head, and his memory is superhuman. He also possesses monstrous courage and tenacity, as evidenced by the fact that he constantly counted the time while petrified. His intellect is also exceptionally quick, and he overcomes any predicament with the power of science. Frankly, he's just too powerful. However, when it comes to strength and stamina, he's a total loser, unable to beat even an average child (lol). In a one-on-one fight, he wouldn't even make the rankings, but in a survival game based on science and surprise attacks, Senku would undoubtedly be number one.
Top 10 Strength Rankings for the Stone World, Where Civilization Has Become Lost
What did you think? I had a really hard time deciding where to place Senku. He wouldn't even be ranked based on pure military strength... This time, I'm not just looking at military strength alone, but also at overall survival strength and his place in the story. It's a ranking that takes into account a lot of my personal opinions, so please just take it as a reference. New characters are constantly being introduced, so the rankings will likely change again after a while!!
