The Fourth Season will also see the unfolding of the Solidarity Shokugeki. This battle, which began in the Third Season, will progress to the middle and final stages in the Fourth Season. As this happens, attention will naturally be focused on Soma and Erina, the top two in the Rebel Alliance. And among the Elites, Tsukasa and Rindou, who sit in the First and Second Seats. However, there are many other characters to keep an eye on in the Fourth Season's battles, and one particularly important key figure among them is the "Third Seat of the Elites." In this article, we will introduce the Third Seat of the Elites.

The third seat under the Azami administration is "Akanegakubo Momo"

Momo crossing her hands

Earlier in the story, Momo was the fourth seat of the Top Ten, but by the time the Solidarity Shokugeki began under the Azami administration, she was the third seat. She is one of the most talented pastry chefs at Totsuki Academy. She is a confident person with absolute confidence in her abilities as a pastry chef, and has a narcissistic personality, self-aware of her own cuteness. Furthermore, she looks exactly like an elementary school student, and until she gets used to her surroundings, she can be socially awkward and has a dark side. (Once she gets used to it, she becomes very talkative.)

Her straightforward personality easily led her to become the third seat.

Soma and Momo

As mentioned earlier, Momo was originally the fourth seat, but when the third seat, Megijima, was stripped of her position in the elite ten for not participating in the Azami government coup, she was promoted to third seat. She is also indifferent to the fact that her fellow third-year, Megijima, was removed from the elite ten in this way. Momo's only interest is in "cuteness," and she doesn't care about anything else. Even when she witnesses Azami's various reforms, she remains unconcerned and remains fixated on cute things.

Was complacency the cause of her defeat in the Solidarity Shokugeki?

Momo Defeated in Force Bout

Momo barely beats Megumi in the third bout, but in the following force bout she faces Erina in a Shokugeki. Erina prepares a soufflé inspired by Megumi's dorayaki. Momo and Erina have several things in common, the most important of which is that they both have queenly personalities. However, after meeting her fellow members of the Rebel Alliance, Erina declares that she is "no longer a princess who sits arrogantly in the highest position." In contrast, Momo maintains her queenly personality and only accepts things that she thinks are cute. She has never accepted other people's ideas, and it seems that this is why she is so far behind Erina.

The Third Seat before the Azami administration was "Megijima Tosuke"

Momo was appointed Third Seat by the Azami administration, but the previous Third Seat was ramen master Megijima Tosuke. Looking at it this way, it's fair to say that the Third Seat has changed quite a bit in appearance, from the most rugged Megijima to the smallest Momo. By the way, Megijima's height is 193cm, while Momo's is 140cm, so she's 53cm shorter (lol).

How Megijima Climbed to Third Seat

Megijima, who somehow became Third Seat

Eiji Tsukasa, the First Seat of the Ten Elites, came to Totsuki Academy with the goal of becoming the First Seat. Seeing Tsukasa's determination, Ryujin resolved to become the Second Seat himself, and the two have now realized their dreams, holding the positions of First and Second Seat. But what about third-place Megijima? In fact, he had absolutely no interest in the Top Ten or rankings, and he wasn't even aiming to be one. He simply came to Totsuki Academy because it was "Japan's best culinary school," and after taking every Shokugeki challenge he was given, he unknowingly rose to third place.

After the Solidarity Shokugeki, he graduated and decided to open a ramen shop in Paris.

First Bout Megijima

Megijima traveled all over Japan, trying out ramen, but after graduation, he decided to leave Japan and open a ramen shop in Paris. In the second bout, they cooked a dish called "African Ramen," which is a very un-Japanese dish, so it seems Megijima's ramen journey doesn't end in Japan.

After the Solidarity Shokugeki, the new Third Seat of the Top Ten is "Kuga Terunori"

Kuga making a peace sign

This probably takes place after the fourth season, but after the Solidarity Shokugeki ended and the new system was established, Kuga was supposed to be the Third Seat of the Top Ten. Since the Azami administration took over, he has repeatedly boycotted meetings, resulting in him being stripped of his position as the Eighth Seat of the Top Ten. Unlike Megijima, who was also stripped of his position as a member of the Top Ten under the Azami administration, Kuga was obsessed with his status, and so he participated in the Solidarity Shokugeki as a member of the Rebel Team. He fought alongside Soma and the others, aiming to regain his spot in the Top Ten.

A playful guy, but a top-notch talent

When Kuga first appeared, he had a very domineering attitude, calling the first-year students "weaklings." He was also quite aggressive and had a rough tone, so he didn't get along well with his fellow Top Ten students. Among them, the one he considered special was first-seater Tsukasa Eiji. After being completely ignored and toasted in their first Shokugeki, Kuga got his revenge in the fourth season's Solidarity Shokugeki. In the end, he was completely defeated by Tsukasa again... but unlike the first Shokugeki, he showed his growth by inflicting enough damage on Tsukasa that he needed a long break.

Azami, the fourth season's greatest enemy, was actually third-seater.

Top 3 of the 69th season

Let's go back in time to the 69th season of Totsuki Academy. This story takes place when Soma and Erina's father was a student at Totsuki Academy, and the third seat at that time was Nakamura Azami. Although he has now married and changed his surname, he is undoubtedly Erina's father and the top of the Azami administration, Kiri Azami, who is the big boss of this story. Incidentally, the first seat of the 69th class was Dojima Gin, and the second seat was Soma's father, Joichiro.

Although she was ranked third in the 69th class, Nakiri Azami's abilities are immeasurable.

Azami Contemplating the True Gourmet Plan

In the 69th class mentioned earlier, Azami was ranked third, behind Gin and Joichiro, but she is two years younger than them. While the other two reached first and second place as third-year students, Azami rose to third place as a freshman, not long after enrolling... Incidentally, Azami's personality at this time was not what it is today. The reason why Azami has developed the personality she has today and why she planned the "True Gourmet" project may be revealed towards the end of the fourth season.

From Current to Senior! A Summary of Third Seats

Kuga and the Shadow of Megijima

So far, we've introduced the third seats from the future to the senior third seats of the 69th class. What did you think? In terms of strong characters, they have a presence that rivals the first and second seats. In the fourth season, all the "third seats" will play a major role in the solidarity Shokugeki, so be sure to keep an eye out!
