Many people love the world of Ghibli. The charm lies in the air, the breeze, the music, and above all, the lively characters. We've ranked the most popular characters from Ghibli films. This time, we've narrowed it down to male characters, and created a list of the characters you'd want as your boyfriend! Enjoy your fantasy while you read! (lol)

10th Place: Kanta

Kanta

In 10th place is Kanta Ogaki from "My Neighbor Totoro." He actually has a full name! Although his first impression was terrible, throughout the story he is actually a kind and considerate boy, as he awkwardly lends Satsuki his umbrella and calls out to Mei with a concerned look on his face when she is crying! In the scene where Satsuki comes to return the umbrella, he was so cute hiding with his face bright red! And in the ending scene, there is a scene where the boys and girls with Satsuki are fighting, but Kanta is watching from behind with a worried look on his face. They roast sweet potatoes together and seem to get along just fine. That still innocent Kanta came in 10th place!

9th Place: Sho

Sho

Next up in 9th place is Sho, a character from "The Secret World of Arrietty." The story begins when Sho, suffering from a serious heart condition, visits Arrietty's home to recuperate. He's not the kind of character who cries from the bottom of his stomach, but it was cool to see him push himself so hard to protect Arrietty. And best of all, he's handsome! His sheltered upbringing is completely undeniable, making him a rare Ghibli character with a rich, spoiled past. This herbivorous man, Sho, takes 9th place.

8th Place: Sugimura

Sugimura

8th place goes to Sugimura from "Whisper of the Heart"! Not Seiji?! (lol) No matter how many times I watch it, I can't help but root for Sugimura. Wasn't the blushing confession scene at the shrine heart-fluttering? The contrast between his usual mischievousness and his earnest, earnest confession is the best. Sugimura is probably the only one in a middle school romance who's so well-received by viewers! (lol) Sugimura's single-minded devotion makes him 8th place.

7th Place: Tombo

Tombo and Kiki Flying in the Sky

7th place goes to Tombo from "Kiki's Delivery Service." He dreams of flying and is fascinated by Kiki, who can fly freely through the sky. He's a truly innocent and adorable boy. It's also wonderful to see him so passionate about his passion and working hard to achieve his dreams. Above all, Tombo is kind, greeted by many people just walking down the street, and loved by everyone. He has a truly human charm. Even when Kiki swears at him (lol), his positive and innocent personality is also admirable. I'm sure he'd take you to lots of fun things and places if you had him as your boyfriend. That's why Tombo is in 7th place.

6th Place: Baron

Baron

6th place goes to Baron from "The Cat Returns"! You might be thinking, "A cat here?!" (lol) Baron's gentlemanly, calm, and mature aura made my heart skip a beat the first time I saw him. He always has beautiful gestures, making him truly the image of a knight. He doesn't mind being a cat! Baron, who effortlessly protects Haru, carries her like a princess, and easily fulfills every girl's dream, is truly a prince. Baron, ranked 6th, is a character that girls adore, something that doesn't exist in modern times.

5th Place: Haku

Haku

5th place goes to Haku from "Spirited Away." His real name was Migahayami Kohakushu. He's usually bossy, arrogant, and difficult to approach, but when he's alone with Chihiro, his tone and eyes are kind, and he's always supportive. He really does feel special (lol). He also desperately tried to protect Sen, always prioritizing her over himself. It was clear that he cared deeply for her, and I was so touched by Haku. That's why we have Haku in 5th place.

4th Place: Pazu

Pazu

4th place goes to Pazu from "Castle in the Sky." He's so handsome, he needs no introduction! It's hard not to fall in love with him when he calls out your name so many times (lol). And the best part is the way he rescues Sheeta from the castle! If he calls you by name and snatches you up in a hug, you're a prince, aren't you? No other man would do this for you. That wild prince, Pazu, came in fourth place.

Third Place: Porco Rosso

Porco

In third place is Porco Rosso from "Porco Rosso." After the cat, he's a pig (lol). I'm actually glad he's a pig. If he were in human form, he'd be too cool and I'd have a hard time concentrating on the story! The way he smokes his cigarette or just stands there in the wind is incredibly picturesque. He's also incredibly cool when he watches over Gina and protects Fiona! He's the most mature character in Ghibli history. He even exudes sexiness. That brings us to third place.

Second Place: Howl

Howl

Second place goes to Howl from "Howl's Moving Castle." You can't leave him out. Of course, Ghibli also portrays him as a handsome man. I prefer blonde hair over black hair because it's more Howl-like, but what do you think? His elusive personality and the sweet lines he unexpectedly says were heart-warming, weren't they? And best of all, he has a talent for magic and is willing to use it for the girl he loves, which is so cool! I'm so jealous of Sophie. Handsome Howl came in second place.

1st Place: Ashitaka

Ashitaka

Beating out Howl, we come in first place with Ashitaka from "Princess Mononoke." Director Hayao Miyazaki deliberately avoided featuring anyone more handsome than Ashitaka in the film. Apparently, he chose this when considering how to make Ashitaka look cool and attractive. So there's no way he wouldn't look cool! Did you notice how Ashitaka's perspective on San changed midway through the film? Apparently, it was around this time that the two became lovers. Ashitaka truly loved and protected San. And I was also touched by how strong Ashitaka was. His outfits are unique, but they suit him and somehow make him look cool. The charming Ashitaka took first place!

There are so many handsome men in Ghibli!
