[Sarazanmai] A Brief Summary of Episode 5
Kazuki has a real mother, separate from the one he lives with. At Sara's handshake event, Kazuki teams up with Yu to impersonate Sara. However, he fails, and Haruka finds out that it was Kazuki who had been in contact with her up until then. Yuu tries to lock Sara away, but fails again and again. Sara's true identity is a kappa. At that moment, a sachet zombie appears. A kappa zombie is searching for the scent of someone important to him. He successfully removes the shirikodama and performs Sarazanmai, and you think that's the end! But the kappa zombie manages to get the shirikodama back. This time, they fail to defeat the kappa zombie, and they remain in kappa form. At that moment, we see a flashback to the reason why Haruka is in a wheelchair. The reason is that Kazuki chased Haruka during a meeting with Kazuki's real mother and got into an accident. And at the end, the two otter police officers also have some kind of mysterious twist to their actions, and the story ends with a twist.
[Sarazanmai] Episode 5: Sarah's True Identity
As I mentioned in my analysis of Episode 1, Sarah's true identity is indeed a kappa. During the lucky selfie fortune telling, Keppi was described in small letters as searching for Prince. So, what kind of kappa is Sarah? Since he's called Prince, I assumed he was Keppi's subordinate, but perhaps he's Keppi's lover. During this lucky selfie fortune telling, her name was written as Kaoru Fukuroya Sarahime. Keppi is the prince, and Sara is the princess. There will likely be a scene where the two of them appear together at some point.
[Sarazanmai] Anime Episode 5: Why Kazuki Hates Haruka
Kazuki hates Haruka because he's decided to remain a fake family for the rest of his life. No one blames him for Haruka being wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life. However, that family isn't his real family, either. Feeling guilty, Kazuki decided to remain a fake family for the rest of his life, quitting soccer, stealing Nyantaro, and connecting with Haruka as Sara. However, he says it's not for Haruka's sake, but to protect himself. From Kazuki's words this time, it becomes clear that Kazuki's actions to connect with Haruka up until now have been driven by his own desire. Unable to defeat the Kappa Zombie, Kazuki remains in the Desire Field and speaks, suggesting a depressing turn of events.
[Sarazanmai] Episode 5: Reo and Mabu
The nature of their relationship is still unknown. It's impossible to predict how things will play out. Reo likely wants to connect with Mabu. As I wrote in my analysis of episode 1, I believe the opening portrays someone he wants to connect with. Reo's tone in this episode also somehow gave off that vibe.
